  1. F1 in town next week. See if Christian can get the Red Bull drivers down to the Dees and in a jumper
  2. Rare to hear a nice word from Kingy and Cornes, but nice to not be discussed for the wrong reasons at least
  3. I would rather pay Oliver a mill a year to sit on the couch than to see him play well at Geelong. For the love of god don't trade him/
  4. Good point, and I highly doubt it would have. Gus was loved amongst the playing group because of the strength of his character, and you know he would've been talking to Christian non-stop and keeping others apprised of the situation. There is no doubt in my mind that Gus was the next captain of the club, and his speech saddens me to see. I can only imagine whatever he does next, be it in footy or out, he will perform extremely well
  5. Only takes someone with a big enough wallet to engage a lawyer. I would suspect smaller sites probably just comply with C&Ds and remove comments on request to avoid litigation
  6. Very common sense approach, especially given in Fairfax Vs Voller the high court indicated a web forum could be considered a publisher and responsible for content posted on the site
  7. I said they may have unreliable sources but they don't just make things up. Another room temperature IQ take from you.
  8. Yep they can say whatever they want, you can choose to believe them or not, but no one that knows anybody at the club is going to come out and name them on a public forum. Then you suggest professional journalists have no sources. Their source might be unreliable but they don't just make these things up mate. Like I said before, to ask someone on this board to put someone they know at the club, and to suggest journalists just make up stories out of thin air, is a braindead take.
  9. "Out your friend who gave you inside information in confidence publicly or you're a liar" Braindead
  10. Very disappointing. I know it's for yourself but you would hate to have been planning to give it as a Christmas gift
  11. I remember seeing the two different beanies when I ordered from the club on the night of the game. I preferred the one on the right, which finally arrived today.
  12. Certainly hasn't been ideal, but at the end of the day I prefer the money to go to the club rather than Target.
  13. Got notice from Australia Post today that my beanie has been sent, and Gawny's book. I was so keen to read it I've bought it on my Kindle so I dont have to wait for Australia Post
  14. I haven't recieved mine yet either. I note the website still shows them as a pre-order item with an expected release date of November 1 The AFL store website shows they have them in stock though. I hope the club gets these out in time for Christmas, though I would've liked to have mine before next weekend.
  15. I see a lot of similarities with Carlton right now to when we hired Neeld. Old coach fired after only a few years Bring in the club legends to pick the new coach Experienced senior coach pulls out of the race because the selection process seems a bit scuffed (Sheedy and the powerpoint) I hope for their sake it goes a little better than it did for us.
  16. Fair enough. Perhaps cancelling a contract is a step too far, but my main point is the disparity between the way the general public is punished for a similar incident, and the way Walker is. It comes off like the AFL is tough on racism until there's a chance it will cost someone money, then 6 weeks is good enough.
  17. Im inclined to agree with you. Case after case of rank and file punters shouting things over the fence at players have resulted in membership cancellations and multi-year bans. The same integrity unit at AFL house then comes out and slaps a former club captain with 6 weeks. Should the standard for players, especially a former club captain not be the same if not higher than that of the fans? What is this difference in this case? I would think in this current year we would be moving towards flat out cancelling contracts for this kind of behaviour.
  18. Having watched the documentary they did on his last season, I would say he doesn't want anything to do with the AFL. Fair enough I don't think Adam Goodes owes anything to anyone. Last time he took a stand on racial issues, he spent the remainder of his career getting booed by crowds, and mocked by a club president. Why should he jump at the opportunity to 'help with reconciliation and healing' when he got burned so badly in the past
  19. Now hearing they may not be allowed to play?
  20. I actually knew those guys, went to school with them. I will tell you now it wasn't the first time they had done something like that either, just the first time they got caught. It was a pretty sad family background, mum was a heroin addict and the dad spent most of their childhood in prison for a pretty high profile shooting.
  21. Brilliant news! I will have to install it tonight Any early impressions?
  22. Vail Resorts? International snowfield operator who I believe we're purchasing Hotham and Falls Creek
  23. From what I understand the video was shot in Germany during Oktoberfest, and the substance he snorted is a legal non- narcotic in Germany that is popular at that time of year
