Suffer, Geelong. You will only play finals cos you fluked two wins against us by under a goal.
-
Lions team looks a lot better on paper than their ladder position suggests. The Kangas lost Higgins who is a jet. A Brisbane win ends Norths season and gives us one less team to worry about, and that would be lovely. Crows will be up and about for the showdown too, knocking off Port would be massive for us.

Because he has had enough of footy. Simple. Good luck to him.
-
Disagree. If not for injury he would have been well and truly entrenched in the best 22 long ago. Hes an absolute bull in the contest, tackles like a maniac, can kick a goal and marks well overhead. And hes shown he can do all that at AFL level when he made an immediate impact for us in 2015.
-
We could win all 22 games next season and still be in 15th place. Yup, its been a rough start to the century but the tide is turning.
-
Gold Coast lose their two key defenders and Swallow. We should be looking for a 120+ point win here. No mercy.
-
Yup, just like the St Kilda game. Absolute certainties.

Hes already kicked a bag of 6 this season.
-
Hate to say it but if they get him they will have a scary team. They already have a lot of goal kicking firepower with DeGoey, WHE, Thomas and Stephenson. Our rise is going to coincide with theirs.... I guess the rivalry is back on in a big way.
-
Just being cautious as suspected. Back in vs the Swans to give them hell.

So whos right, Misson or Channel 7? If its channel 7, Misson has got to go. But elite performance manager Dave Misson was confident Melksham wouldn’t be sidelined for too long, saying it was a “very minor strain”. “It happened in the second quarter, but he played out the match,” he told Melbourne Media. “Even though Jake’s pulled up well, we don’t want to risk him this round. “We’ll reassess him next week.”
-
Exactly.
-
If Essendon (playing Hawks) and the Kangaroos (playing Lions at the Gabba) lose this week, they are both done. They would need to win their last 3 games and make up a lot of percentage, which wont happen. This would leave Sydney as the only team currently outside the 8 still with a chance of getting in.

While we wait for this weeks game, thought Id put together a Melbourne Under 23 team. I knew we had impressive young talent, but I had no idea how many were still in that age bracket. The cutoff was all players must still be 23 at the end of 2018. B: Hunt - O.McDonald - J.Smith HB: Baker - Lever - Salem C : Harmes - Petracca - ANB HF: Fritsch - Hogan - Stretch F : JKH - Weideman - Spargo R: King - Oliver - Brayshaw Bench : Keilty - Petty - Balic - Johnstone This team would beat Gold Coast, Carlton, Freo, Doggies and more.

I wonder if T Mac and Jesse are having their own little friendly battle for the leading goalkicker award? Jesse on 42 and T Mac on 40 And Jesse had a 5 game head start.
-
We got him for unders at pick 3... should have been pick 1.
-
Ridiculous odds when you think about it. Yes Gold Coast will be playing a very young team and be missing May, Lynch, Martin and maybe Swallow.. but they beat the Swans two weeks ago and we lost to St Kilda recently.
-
Too bad they are on 12 wins already, they should make the finals now. If they were on 11 they would not make it with that injury list.

Tex and Jenkins, softest big men in the game
What replied to thesleepinggiant's topic in Melbourne Demons
Id love to see @WERRIDEE do a best 22 of the AFL's flat track bullys Tex Walker surely the captain. -
Will be interesting to see where he finishes in the B and F. He can be frustrating for sure with some of the skill errors, but obviously does a lot of things the coaches love.

They got destroyed by O Mac and Frosty, who should both take a lot of confidence from the game. -
Dom was very good. He usually struggles to impact with his disposals even when he has 25-30, but he had an impact with just 20 touches vs the Crows. His hands were very clean and creative.

Gawn up to 18 votes in the afl.com Brownlow predictor, and Oliver up to 15. Interestingly Oliver has polled in 9 games, more than any other player. If a few of those 1 votes turn into 2's or 3's he will be up around 20 votes. http://www.afl.com.au/brownlow-medal/predictor

Anyone notice how bad Buddy Franklin has looked lately? Either hes carrying an injury or all that mileage has finally caught up to him. Or both. Reading the Swans forum and some of the supporters wanted him rested or shut down completely for the season. Sam Frost will get the job him in Round 21 you'd think.
