If Melbourne beats Sydney and Port beats West Coast .... we go to Perth the week after and if we roll the Eagles, we leapfrog them. Likely pushing them out of the top 4 completely and moving us to 2nd or 3rd. Maybe we end up playing GWS in ROund 23 for 2nd place... and play them again in the first final. So many possibilities (including not making the finals at all).

If Port beat West Coast this week, 2nd spot and homeground advantage in week 1 will be wide open... Imagine it.... Melbourne and GWS win their next 2 games and Round 23 becomes the battle for 2nd. With Gaff, Naitanu and Kennedy all out, the Eagles could easily drop all their last 3 (vs Port, vs Melb vs Lion s at the GABBA). Epic few weeks coming up.

Why are people wanting Pedders to come in when we have O Mac and Frost as key defenders?
-
All the left footers we have now is reminiscent of the Hawks threepeat machine. Also is Fritsch really an 18 gamer? Surely not. Damn he is good.
-
James Harmes is quietly having a breakout season and adding another young dynamo to our already talent laden midfield. Will he tag Parker, Kennedy or Heeney this week?

6 Oliver 5 Hogan 4 Harmes 3 Brayshaw 2 Salem 1 Garlett Unlucky - Dom Tyson

Not sure what Hogan did during the week, but he looked like a new man. Was moving beautifully and his closing speed was great. Garlett also looked great ... yes I know the opposition was atrocious, but if he takes confidence from that game it will help a lot.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-08-05/simmo-not-sure-if-gaff-hit-was-intentional Simpson has lost the plot. Can a coach be suspended for trying to influence the tribunal result with pure lies? Never mind, maybe he is just a moron.

The stakes shall be high. In - Melksham, Hunt Out - Smith (inj), JKH
-
Yeah just saw it.. thats Barry Hall territory.. just straight up punched him 50 metres off the ball. Much worse than the Bigg incident. Thats very out of character for Gaff. We will beat West Coast.
-
If we beat the Swans, the Hawks beat Geelong and the Dogs beat the Kangas, we will be locked in to the finals after next round. Edit - unless we lose our last two games by 10+ goals and Geelong win their last two by 10+.
-
Percentage is officially not a factor for us now. We have taken care of that which killed us last season. Now we just need enough wins.
-
Weid - 24 possessions, 7 marks, 2 goals Someone said the other day he was the in form key forward in the VFL the last month, and looks like he had another nice outing. Developing well. 2019 will be his year.

Highest Scores Score Opponent Round Venue 1 28.14.182 North Melbourne Round 21, 1986 MCG 1 28.14.182 North Melbourne Round 5, 1991 MCG Today this pitiful record will finally be overtaken. Thats a woefully low record high score for a foundation club.

He was playing on a first gamer after Darcy Moore went down with a hammy. Buddy will get Frosted next week.
-
If we are 'on' today, this may not be unrealistic.
-
In no way is finishing 6th better than finishing 3rd. Finish 3rd and the path is easier... win Week 1 and your straight into a Prelim.... lose and you get another crack at it the week after. I would back us in week 1 on West Coast or the GWS home turf. We will prove our credentials in rounds 22 and 23. Perfect rehearsal.
-
If the team hasn't learned that lesson after the Round 23 debacle last season it will be so deflating for the supporters. Finals are non negotiable from here. We will find out in the next 4 games if we have finally taken the next step. The biggest month of footy for this club in a long, long time. It all starts today.
-
That Jenkins goal was obviously a goal. Hinkley and the Power trying to claim a win under false pretenses... pathetic. We may need to win 3 of the last 4 games to make it now. 14 wins may be the threshold for 8th spot.. but who knows, upsets should happen. A win today takes us to 4th on the ladder.
-
The Scott brothers seem to get a lot of luck for two blokes that deserve zero of it.
-
Smashing Carlton never gets old, whether at VFL or AFL level.
-
Brisbane are not a bad team, in fact they are quite good and have been competitive most of the season.... and apparently its going to be warm and sunny up there today, conditions the Lions are accustomed to. North, not so much. Add to that Higgins is out, and Harris Andrews is a good matchup for Ben Brown. Lions by 17.
-
What a day of footy for finals implications.... its on like donkey kong folks. First two games could see two teams have their season ended (Bombers and Roos). But if they win, or even just one wins, the cluster of finals contenders becomes even tighter and the mighty Dees will have to dig deep, deep, deep. As much as I hate North, I wouldnt mind seeing them in the 8 if it means Geelong, Hawthorn and Essendon are all out. That would be very nice. So many permutations. And we still have three rounds of footy left after this one. Best finish to a season in AFL history is coming, for sure.

Steven May, as already stated. Point 3, well where did we find Jurrah? How did we get Farmer?
-
Dream shopping list 1 - Gun outside mid (Andrew Gaff) 2 - Proven tough reliable KPD who can shut down an opponent and also find the footy a la Hurley (Steven May) 3 - Electrifying X factor excitement machine in the mold of Jurrah/Farmer (???)
