  1. And forest won the league in their first season after being promoted.
  2. I think that's the most small time thing I've ever read.
  3. I'm actually really looking forward to this week and the next few games. We are actually a sneaky chance of being in the 8 in a few weeks!
  4. Lumumba's been terrific this year.
  5. Not playing well when we're favourites might actually be nerves rather arrogance. Maybe they overthink it when they're favourites. Just a theory.
  6. Agree with this - plus we beat GWS who have beaten Geelong and Hawthorn. Stinkers like yesterday are annoying but at least they are becoming less frequent (1 in 3 instead of 2 in 3 haha). I don't rate GC - I reckon we'll [censored] em next week.
  7. Any love for Matt Jones??
  8. I've never seen so many goals kicked with 3,4,5 forwards on 1 defender. I'm not sure whether there's something wrong with the plan or the application. I reckon it's probably the latter. Hopefully the boys bounce back next week.
  9. Not sure what all the fuss about Docklands is. I don't mind it.
  10. I'm glad a lot of people on here say they don't consider Track to be the saviour. I think that's the appropriate view to take. But what people do is often different to what people say. There's a 7,000 page thread celebrating this bloke getting a game and everyone has to admit, the buzz has been enormous. I don't think that's healthy. What will the reaction be if he barely gets a touch in his first two games, kicks a couple of clangers and misses a couple of tackles? Plenty of the greats of the game have done nothing in their first few games - yet this joint will go into meltdown if that occurs. Do you reckon Hawthorn fans care when one of their high draft picks debuts? As I said on another thread, Dees fans losing their mind over a bloke who hasn't played a game is so 2009. I'm more excited about the team goes this Sat than what Track does. That said, I hope he has 27 and kicks 5 haha
  11. Agree with this 100%. I'm excited to see Track play, but no more than any of our other quality young players. Put it this way, if he didn't get a kick but we won I'd be happy. We've got a pretty good side now and I think the days of us lionising players who haven't even played a game should become a thing of the past.
  12. I don't want to be a buzzkill, but Dees fans losing their sh!t over a bloke who hasn't played a game is so 2009...
  13. Jonesy's an absolute ripper Deserves any success that comes his way.
  14. Agreed. Jeffy terrorised Richmond last year in the third quarter when the whips were cracking.
  15. Whilst I am pleased with our progress, "steady on" is an appropriate response until we win two games in a row.
  16. I only watched the second half of the second quarter and the third quarter and he stuffed about 5 times. I don't reckon he's in very good form. Then again, he might've been awesome for the bits I wasn't there for.
  17. This is such a great thread! Love hearing all these old stories. I used to chuck torn up paper in the air after a goal as a kid in the early 90s. One day a steward came and took our bag of paper of us so that must've been when it was phased out. I would've loved to have gone to all the old grounds but only made it to victoria park, western oval and prince's park before they stopped using them. Also Kardinia Park but that's still in use (the trip down there last year was pretty fun). Can I ask why you were all sleeping outside the grounds on Friday nights?
  18. Articles in 'The Crowd' are actually written by fans (as opposed to journos). So yeah, it could well be a demonland topic.
  19. Thanks for this report mate - very informative for those who can't make it down there.
  20. A good performance. All I want is to play well two weeks in a row.
  21. I hope his injury is not too bad. He's a terrific player and seems like a great bloke and deserves to be a part of the success they are having at the moment.
  22. Last time Lloyd wrote a negative piece about Melbourne it was the morning of the Geelong game last year. I think he thought we were sure things to get flogged so he thought he would be pretty safe having a crack at us. I'd suggest the same thing has occurred here so hopefully we get the same result! That said, his article is 100% correct.
