The 2025 AFL Draft Thread
2 small forwards and a medium interceptions defender. This year's picks boggle the mind. We must have extreme faith in our tall forward mix in Kentfield, JVR and Jeffo putting it together over the next couple of years as well as whats left of our midfield.

AFL Draft 2025: Pick 30 (formerly 37)
Actually taking a selection based on our needs given this is the last chance for us in this draft 🙏

2026 AFL Fixture
Essendon, Hawthorn, Gold Coast, Fremantle, Western Bulldogs, Richmond. Despite finishing in the bottom 6 we play 2 bottom 6 sides and then 3 finalists and the 9th place finisher that was only a game out of the 8. Seems fair doesn't it 🤦♂️

2026 AFL Fixture
It'll be interesting to see the financials at the end of next year with so many games that will more than likely be low attendance and the two big fixtures of kings birthday and Anzac eve also being away games in the same year. Makes a mockery of the alleged new fixturing system that teams will play their own group of 6 up to 4 times. Unless you are the AFL favourites of the moment you get shafted. Theb look at the interstate travel for the Vic sides and how unbalanced it is. Top 3 sides Hawthorn (selling games), North and Melbourne. Bottom 3 sides Carlton (4), essendon(6) and Collingwood(6) (no surprise there)

2026 AFL Fixture
It's going to kill our average attendance. Personally, I and my family of 5 will be very unlikely to go to any of those simply because of how late the trip home will be with a school day the next day.

Hopefully we are clear of Thursday and Wednesday night games as well. Saturday day, arvo and night please and thank you

Farewell Christian Petracca
We dont have any second rounders. If this is the deal we will not have a selection until the mid 60s after these two "top end" selections 🤮

Bailey Humphrey
The powers that be keep enabling him to ruin our future though

We dont need GC to jump at all. We need to be resolute for once and standy by our statements. If there is not a quality player and a high enough draft pick then Trac stays. Simples. This draft is so shallow that picks outside the top 10 are effectively a gamble, so trading away next year's f1 is simply ludicrous

GC win that trade by a country mile. Pick 7 will end up about Pick 15 and 15 in the mid 20s. On top of the Oliver debacle this would permanently cement us as the weakest negotiating club in history.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
A F3 for clarry and is paying zero contract i could swallow. Giving him away for peanuts and paying a big chunk is crazy and Lamb needs to be held accountable
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
If we end up paying half of Oliver's salary for a F3, I will be first in line demanding Tim Lamb's resignation. If an F3 is all we can get, thats fine, but we shouldn't be stumping up half salary as well, that is absolutely criminal.

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
The compo pick for Spargo was an end of second round (41 at the time it was isssued) not a 4th round. Compo picks dont even go to 4th round to begin with.

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
The leverage Collingwood had was we didnt want to dilute our Spargo compensation pick, so for that privilege we had to give something to Collingwood that was better than the compo pick they would receive. Otherwise they would have said to us to take him as a UFA for all they care and the consequences of that are on us.
