  1. What do you think Ross Lyon is going to give for an injury prone tall after the Gumbleton debacle? Clark was a great player but that was the first half of 2012. He is a speculative pick up now that a club would only take for free or for a late pick. And that's just considering his body, before you even consider his mental state. To suggest a club would give up a top 20 selection for Clark now is laughable.
  2. Have a cold shower mate. Clark has missed two seasons with foot injuries and couldn't even train this year without doing a series of soft tissue injuries. He's been out of the system for the better part of a year and lost all conditioning. He is such a speculative selection and I can hardly see a bidding war erupting given west coast's plethora of talls - you'd be lucky to get freo's 3rd round pick.
  3. What a ridiculous post. Most on here are fed up with the tripe these players have served up and have had enough of winning only 10 games in 3 years. Forgive me for not doing cartwheels at re-signing a Sydney delist, an Adelaide delist and a 26 year old E Grader.
  4. A lot don't also realise that by holding onto duds like Bail and Terlich you miss the opportunity to take an Anthony Miles or Jeremy Laidler as a delisted free agent. The top sides and expansion sides that have to trim their lists will delist better players than Bail and Terlich. To quote a top 3 B&F finish being important in a side that won 2 games last year is laughable. We have the worst football list in history and we are holding on to guys that lack the basic skills to even become C-graders.
  5. Wow. I'm so disappointed with Terlich and Bail. McKenzie, Evans and Jamar are contracted for next year so it looks like we have another season of Jamar, Spencer, Bail, Terlich, Evans and McKenzie clogging the list. Roos must have some grand plans to bring in elite talent for the top bracket of our playing list as the bottom half of the playing list will continue to be absolute rubbish.
  6. I really hope they bring Harmes in to give supporters half a reason to watch the game.
  7. I hope any offer for pick 2 has to almost go to board level for approval. Really worried Roos' ego might see him go for whatever quick fix he can get because he knows that 5 or 6 wins next year is a distinct possibility and his 3 years at MFC will be a huge blight on his record. Who could we possibly get with pick 2 this year that we didn't already approach last year? If Rockliff, Sloane, Shuey, Crouch etc turned us down last year why would they come this year? An extra $100k? From what I have seen pick 2 for Shiel or Treloar - 181cm mids - would be overs. They're very good players but pick 2 should be superstar territory and I don't think they have anywhere near the weapons of players like Fyfe or Dangerfield. Can't see Treloar or Shiel agreeing to come to the Dees anyway given we are GWS' [censored].
  8. Can anyone who has seen Petracca play tell me whether he is aggressive? Does he have some mongrel in him? So many of our failed high draft picks haven't made it because they're just nice boys that don't like the physical stuff. We've picked so many softcox. Does Petracca like smashing blokes and burying them into the ground? Does he have that Hodge/Lewis ruthless mongrel in him?
  9. End of 1st round pick which has to be traded would be the go. Bring in someone that can make an impact straight away like Vince. Send it to Hawthorn for one of those half backs like Suckling or Duryea that can kick the thing.
  10. The Tyson deal was 2 for 2. Crouch, Hartung, McStay, Merrett and Lewis Taylor were all available with that pick you all think was "steak knives" or "loose change". They have all shown just as much as Salem.
  11. I hope you've been on the sauce tonight mate, cos McKenzie wouldn't carry Marc Murphy's bags. And it wasn't a knee jerk reaction given McKenzie has never been able to kick, and also missed a set shot against Port the week before from 30m out which might have been the difference there too.
  12. What a wonderful sight it is to look at a Melbourne side and not see Bail and McKenzie in it.
  13. Liked the look of Gore as well. The team from Bound For Glory did a Phantom Draft last week and had him going at pick 70 to Fremantle. http://boundforglorynews.com/bfgn-rising-stars-phantom-draft/
  14. He is a deadbeat, he is a thug but if he came cheap (ie delisted free agent or token swap for someone like Strauss) and Roos thought he could turn him around then I would take him in a heartbeat. So sick of our soft on-field culture and the fact no one ever remonstrates with guys like Merrett last week. Just like that bogan Campbell Brown helped some of those kids on the Gold Coast, Robinson and Hogan would be a great injection of aggro next year. Averages about 20 possessions and a goal a game and loves smashing blokes. If Roos thinks he could keep him on the straight and narrow like he did with Shaw at Sydney I'd happily offer Robinson a 1 year, zero warnings type of deal.
  15. Let's keep doing what we've been doing then hey, rpfc? Turn 5 or 6 over and keep giving blokes like bail a game? Simpkin, laidler, Anthony miles, Eli templeton etc could all have been taken over the past couple of years as delisted free agents or with this "pick 105" theory you keep flogging. All better options than the Evans' and McKenzie's who've clogged our list for years. They must turn over 25 spuds over the next 2 years. You don't win 40 games in 8 years and make the same number of changes as the top sides.
  16. Have heard from a really good source that Geelong will offer Melbourne Taylor Hunt in a straight swap for Blease. They like Blease and just think he needs some love and to be part of a good side. I was a bit surprised to hear that apparently Taylor Hunt isn't the hardest worker. I would be rapt to get anything for Blease as I thought he would be a delist. Taylor Hunt is a run with player and we would still have Cross next season as well, so McKenzie's final year should be paid out. It's not like we could be anywhere near 100% of the salary cap given half the list are not up to it.
  17. Must, must payout Evans and McKenzie. Top clubs will delist better players than these two. Take them as a delisted free agent and you might just jag a Simpkin. Heck GWS or Gold Coast might even delist another Anthony Miles as they trim their lists. Mckenzie and Evans are just park footballers.
  18. From memory big, tough, antagonistic Lynden Dunn was right near the Merrett hit on Pederaon. Absolutely spineless response from him and the other players in the area. Pathetic. Something seriously wrong if you're willing to let a teammate get split open like that. When will we see that line in the sand moment? So pleased we continue the Spencer project and let blokes like Martin go. Christ almighty I hope they payout Mckenzie and Evans and replace them with anything. Trade Watts for whatever you can get. I can't believe he could possibly be 196cm the way he is constantly knocked off the ball and always going to ground. Just insipid.

  20. Pick 20 can hardly be considered a speculative pick. Tyson will be a very good player, hopefully a star, but people seem to think it was pick 2 for Tyson and pick 9. We gave pick 20 as well so it was Kelly and any of the blokes drafted in the 20s for Tyson and Salem. Crouch, Zach Merrett, Hartung, Lewis Taylor - all will be 150+ gamers and could have been ours with that pick 20. It was a good trade for Melbourne but I'm sure after a few pre-seasons under Kelly's belt it won't prove to be the highway robbery that some people seem to think we've pulled off.
  21. Like most I am fed up with Grimes. I just can't wait for Grimes, Bail and McKenzie to be weeded out like Terlich and Jones have been. Terrible miss by Kent on his preferred left on the edge of the goalsquare. Jordie McKenzie poster from 30m out directly in front was park football stuff. Howe's kick in to a flat footed Garland with 3 port players within 20m was just terrible, as was Dawes' inside 50 which could have been raffled by the 2 port players when it had to hug the boundary.
  22. Let's say the compo for Frawley got watered down to an end of 1st round pick (at best) if we took malceski. That's pick 4 vs pick 24 and malceski. Absolutely crazy to take a 29 year old on that basis, no matter what role they can fill. Make malceski a $ offer too good to be true and then offer the swans a 4th rounder or similar for a token trade, given our 3rd round pick should hopefully be spent on stretch.
  23. I agree. Would be a great fit as I think he'd have 1 very good, and 1 good season left in him. The only problem is that he would water down the Frawley compensation. I also see Stewart from Port (191cm utility) as a reasonable fit for us as a big bodied mid, but again I'd be reluctant to water down a top 5 pick.
  24. I also struggle to understand why we play the blokes that can kick (Tapscott, Blease, Kent, Salem) as undersized and not exceptionally quick half forwards, which I think is one of the hardest roles on the ground, and rely on blokes that can't kick to bring the ball out of defence. What is the point in having Tapscott, Blease, Kent and Salem leading to Grimes, Frawley, McDonald and Terlich? Tapscott and Blease's best games for the club were down back where they could get some cheaper possies and break a line with a bounce or a 60m kick. I was also rapt when we drafted Tapscott but clearly he's a ball of muscle and power athlete and is a bit of a victim of the way the game has changed. I don't think he would run the 15 beep test you need to be able to run now as a 5 ft 10" half forward flanker.
  25. Evans has to be paid out. Been in the system 3 years, plays each week against tradies and blokes that train 2 nights a week and manages 15 touches against them. Dime a dozen, 6ft, one paced midfielder with no X factor. Opposition clubs will delist better players than Evans. Pick one up as a delisted free agent.
