  1. It's just an individual thing 'layzie' and to be honest you left yourself wide open with that statement. For example... An interesting choice for road crews back in the day to test their sound systems in pubs was a selection from Joe's Garage (Frank Zappa)...I'm pretty sure it was more about the lyric content rather than the sonic nuances though.
  2. I think you're right on the money here. It's going to be an interesting watch with a few surprises ahead. I hope Howes can make it as he could offer something really interesting to the mix.
  3. I'm not sure what you are getting at here. Do you think we should have left a spot open?
  4. He's been enormous for us and if he hasn't already, I hope he gets rewarded with life membership. I hope he doesn't take the Geelong job, a better move for him would be into a mens program if he is a career coach.
  5. It's probably not you 'Robbie', the spell checker/auto whatever on here does some very weerd things at times.
  6. I don't feel it (most of the time) but I guess I'm getting there. I did the speaking course with Geoff when I think he had moved off his on air positions, his partner in crime Don Kinsey (also an old radio man from 3DB) was heavily involved in running the Children's Hospital appeal. I've heard it with a few presenters/interviewers lately. As I say Geoff would be turning in his grave but it seems like it might be a thing, a bit like in language where we now have "learnings" and we "versus" a team. Not a big fan... Edit: Sorry Thomas for derailing your thread, I think you will be a great acquisition to the club both on and off field. Looking forward to following your career.
  7. It would kill it if it split but the way the AFL deal with it now is a slow death anyway. They want to get women involved in the game on the cheap. Time to treat it right.
  8. Hassa was my favourite player as a kid growing up...a true Melbourne legend.
  9. We need it 'Red'...in fact why wait for the AGM unless they have other stuff they want to cover up on the night.
  10. No, his father Geoff was the voice of the ABC for many a year. ...before your time I'm guessing. edit: He used to run a public speaking course with Don Kinsey...one of his big no no's was the upward inflection at the end of a sentence. Said something along the lines of people can't take you seriously when you sound like an overly excited teenager.
  11. You're spot on 'No.31"...I know they have to fill space to keep the AFL machine rolling but there is a lot to be said for space over waffle.
  12. Geoff McComas wouldn't approve...
  13. Do you know why he dropped to the rookie draft 'dazz'? what are the knocks on him?
  14. It doesn't make him brilliant...just promising. ...and drafting Laurie before him doesn't make him one.
  15. I'll give you Cameron but Neale is hardly a brilliant key forward...
  16. Nothing bad 'Ghostwriter', just enough to derail their season will be fine by me....
  17. A bad run with injury in season 2026 would be good...
  18. We will know in the next couple of years whether this was an inspired selection or a bust. ...a case premature conclusion from you 'purple'.
  19. Tom Stewart 190 cm...5 x AA.
  20. It more likely shows us that we don't think they are that good...
  21. If they want to do a free show make it big....open up the bowl. Fed Square is too small if they are already selling out the bowl. The town needs another 200k show, featuring an Aussie band.
  22. He really is an exceptional speaker...
  23. Here they come 'Clint'
