  1. Would really like Tomlinson. Might mean less pressure for us to draft a tall (Francis/Curnow) with that 3rd pick.
  2. I love how much Dees fans on here love Seinfeld
  3. Didn't Mahoney say we won't be trading picks 3 or 10? I doubt GWS will part with this pick as well as giving up Bugg. Any news on this?
  4. ok then use pick 94 Dees! yeah! Thanks DD
  5. yes please. Throw in pick 94 we just got for Fitzy.
  6. I think Essendon are in the great position we were in last year. Last year we had the choice of three combinations Mccartin/Brayshaw or Mccartin/Petracca, ended up with Petracca/Brayshaw Essendon have the choice of Parish/Curnow or Parish/Francis or Curnow/Francis. They are in a good position with those two back to back picks.
  7. Good point Manny. It will be interesting to see what Viney does. Most years they would say 'we will draft who we think is the best player when it is our turn to pick'. I think Parish might be a different type of mid. He stands out more then the Hoppers, Kennedy's etc. seems to have that Bontempeli x factor about him. I dunno. I do think it might be too hard to pass up on Curnow at 3. Has a bit of everything. Love his size and how he moves and marks. Do we really think we need to take Weideman at no.3?
  8. Yeah I think it will be Parish. His ceiling is high and if doesn't reach it he will be a consistant midfielder (Dom Tyson+ perhaps). He seems to be that compeditive Fyfe type player in his build and constant work rate. Like Fyfe he likes to constantly keep moving in and around the contest and won't stop until he wins the ball. Not saying he will be Fyfe but we need this type of player at the club. I can't see them passing him up. Unless Curnow has too much fwd/mid/Stringerish potential to resist. Curnow nor Francis will slip down to 10, its tough. Really don't know who we pick at 10.
  9. P-man, on 21 Oct 2015 - 3:20 PM, said: Yeah he's not an inspiring prospect. Feel like he's only climbed the phantom draft's because he is the only other 'true key forward'. Would he be an option as a forward/backup ruck type player? I don't think his running is good enough to ruck. Dream would be if Curnow or Francis somehow slipped so we could get them as well as Parish. mmmmm dreaming....
  10. wow this thread is getting pretty thin on topics. Please dees make another move. Just to keep us entertained. More trading off second rounders or something...
  11. Chook, yeah you're right I sort of just put him there because I'm sure Melbourne would pick him up if they were able to get Gold Coasts 3rd pick
  12. Looks to me a bit like this yeah? Obviously it might change between 3,4 and 5. Excluding Academy picks 1. Carlton - Weitering 2. Brisbane - Schache 3. Gold Coast - Parish 4. Essendon - Francis 5. Saints - Curnow 6. Dees - Balic, Weideman, Milera? Academy picks Sydney - Mills GWS - Hopper GWS - Kennedy I'm torn. I think Parish could be a terrific if not consistant midfielder with more potential then the already impressive player he is. But having a creative player AND a possible key position player moving forward would be great also
  13. yeah two players would be a safer bet. But I think Curnow is going to go earlier than our pick 6 no?
  14. The Howe ending up at Collingwood thing is so frustrating If the GC deal came good for Howe, with that pick 3, we would have had a choice of Parish, Curnow or Francis. I don't mind Balic or Tucker but would have loved the chance at the other three.
  15. Yeah this would be our biggest off season win if we could pull that off. Choice of Curnow, Parish or Francis would be wonderful.
  16. Not sure why the heck people think we could get pick 15 for Howe. See Redden trade. Also just wanted to ask. Treloar has nominated Collingwood as his prefered destination. As far as I know both teams usually make this happen for a high end player. What have been some other cases where a player clearly wants to go to one club but lands somewhere else?
  17. agree with everything you say here steve!
  18. Would we be able to get Curnow if we get pick 3? He is looking more and more the best of the non academy players outside of the top 2 (See draft combine results on afl site). I would really like to snap him or Parish up.
  19. Would love to see him running around HF with Watt's, AVB, Pederson, Frost and Jesse. Would add to our taller player stocks quite nicely. Carlton have been reported as interested but I think Roos would like this kind of player on our list next year. Really hope we get him. I think he has a higher ceiling then his current performance.
  20. He is versatile too. Can play as a tall on the wing with his elite endurance running for his size. I like that he can go forward or back. Could tag team with Frost if he can improve his defensive side a bit more. I feel this is a realistic and potentially great pickup if Melbourne can get him. Is close with Dom, both went to Trinity Grammar and are good mates. Said it made things easier for him up at GWS with Dom around. Come home!
  21. I agree with you. Also agree with others that the 400k and the 4 years is odd for a player of this caliber. Has shown potential one season, steadied the next, then fell away a bit last year. Not exactly a booming recruit. But he has worked closely with Goodwin and I'm sure Simon believes he can get the best of of Jake. This isn't the recruit Melbourne fans want. But putting the details of the deal / trade aside, this isn't a bad recruit. For me he is like a Dom Tyson, perhaps less of a ball magnet but is able to play contested football through he middle. I don't mind adding more Dom Tysons to our list to create depth. Melksham is actually a bit quicker and a better mark then Tyson plus has had good experience as a run with player being of good size, length and height. I would hope that he can just work on his consistency. Again not what we want first up this trade period, but something we need to keep adding depth to this club.
