  1. Except it's not luck of the draw. Big clubs such as Carlton and Collingwood conveniently forget that they originally extorted a barely operational system in the first place in obtaining the Peter Daicos' of this world. Much like the bloodlines of a horse, they have inherited a superior gene pool in respect to the sport.
  2. Read the last paragraph. In other words, in July he had a conversation (allegedly) and has tagged this on to give the post credence. It doesn't have to be truthful but rather, give the illusion of truth. I've always liked the late comedian George Burn's quote: The key to success is sincerity. If you can fake that you've got it made.
  3. Clarrie, as great a footballer as he is, has always come across as a little immature and easily lead. I can't help but feel that the genesis of much of this was when we seemingly did away with the 'no DH' rule. A recently retired player (and poor driver) who came to us from a West Melbourne club was a certified DH and, from all accounts, a son of a gun who cannot play for us for a while, if ever. smashed through the DH ceiling also. His head was turned. I may well be wrong but this has always been my gut feel.
  4. I'm not across the review. Am I right in suggesting that Gary Pert is, in effect, partially reviewing himself?
  5. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy first Test starts 22nd November. I'd prefer it started next week.
  6. All the focus is on Geelong as if it's a two team comp. The Cats always seem to sway the media into conveying to the public it's the player's only option. It is not.
  7. Because Demonland loves to be outraged. Have you not read the game threads? Heads must roll if we're 10 points down at half-time.
  8. Florent and Gulden have been woeful. Absolutely unaccountable performances
  9. Because BT makes Bruce look like Winks
  10. The Swans have been dismal. For starters, there's no-one in the middle wanting to do the grunt work. They all want to be the bloke who streams out of the centre or who takes the handball receive. Meanwhile, they've got their best in-an -under player in Parker minding Harris Andrews in the forward line. The Horse has outsmarted himself in my opinion.
  11. It was. Women’s Cricket World Cup was great. Thought this was ok too
  12. Where’s the Menulog song?
  13. No doubt you're right Whatwhat. If I were to think out loud (of course I wouldn't), I'd wonder if he lacked urgency at the contest. I'd hope I was flat out wrong.
  14. Do we actually think he's good enough? I want him to be a star but not really seeing it as yet.
  15. Just turned on channel 7. You would be hard pressed to find a less charismatic line up. It's almost an art form
  16. Diamond, just come back from the Gold Coast. Up there it's big news. I think the level of interest may surprise you.
  17. I just hope the Norm Smith award winner acknowledges Daicos.
  18. It was an opportunity for Hamish to fall in love with Hamish.
  19. It’s woeful.
  20. Patrick Cripps is a good player but the best season of all time?? Umpires on crack
  21. Funny game. I’m seeing it the other way
  22. I'm ok with that BBP
  23. Now this is interesting. Has this been reported BLWNBA?
  24. If Brisbane can get Rayner and Cameron to a Shrink and buy Tin Man Hipwood a heart, they may be able to run the Cotton On Cats close.
  25. A two week choke Jaded
