  1. I wouldn't mind Daisy Pearce. She was held in high regard at Geelong and is doing a great job as coach of WCW. She has a great tactical brain.
  2. While he lives in a team environment, he is a standalone entity that the club needs to recognise and manage. He will give his all in the workplace, but after that....
  3. I think he has 2 accounts. One is football related and the other is his cooking and personal stuff. From what I have seen he hasn't posted any footy stuff since July.
  4. Yes I agree but we are from another generation (sorry, not sure if you fit into that category) and would have done what you have said. I guess there is more opportunities to do both.
  5. This is the future. Trac is the pioneer. You will see more players doing TicTok / Insta activities and establishing their own brand as a sideline but a major income earner. I think our club has a chance to lead the way in assisting players in building their brand that will compliment the MFC as well as themselves. It might also be an effective strategy for attracting players to the club. We would be starting from scratch, as we are currently ranked last in developing social media content.
  6. From Fox Sports. Players who could arrive Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph has also recently said the Demons could try and lure Leek Aleer, who has struggled to cement a place in Adam Kingsley’s best side, while the Demons could be a landing spot for departing Geelong premiership player Brandan Parfitt.
  7. They now have a big problem in Eric Hipworth. Contracted to 2029.
  8. "the great unwashed"?? I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that this does not mean what I think it means.
  9. Do you actually know what the word means? Educate yourself by looking it up.
  10. This is an interesting take and one that makes the most sense. That said, sadly, I feel the damage has been done, and there will be continued pressure from his advisers to leave the club.
  11. sursum corda is "Lift up your hearts".
  12. Spoke without notes. That is a wonderful skill. He will be in high demand in both the football and corporate arenas. Selfishly, I hope it is within the Melbourne Football Club. As others have said, he was our spiritual leader, the glue that kept the playing group together. The impact of his loss on the team has been greatly underestimated by some who have been so critical of our performance this season.
  13. Is this your opinion or rumour? Your post doesn't make any sense.
  14. Ridiculous comment. So Brody had nothing to do with this? He is the victim, and he had no input into how this was going to work? Your default position is always to blame. Has it ever occurred to you that things just don't turn out the way you envisaged. And that no one is to blame. I credit the club for taking the risk and having a go. If we hadn't, you would have been the first to pay out on the club.
  15. All this is true, but I believe their administration sets them apart.
  16. A different Cat: How Chris Scott differs from other AFL coaches This is an interesting article written by the well respected Jake Niall from the Age. In his article, Jake delves into what differentiates the long-serving Scott from coaches at rival clubs. He mentions Melbourne a few times on how certain incidents would have been handled differently. An example is when he quotes a past player saying that the Petracca saga would never have happened at Geelong. I come away thinking that Goody does possess a number of these traits and believe he is the right person that can follow in Scott's footsteps. The big concern, sadly, is the stark difference in the administrations. I can copy and paste the article but am not sure whether I am allowed to.
  17. What controversies should Goodwin take responsibility for?
  18. What a ridiculous comment.
  19. What is his problem with Pert and Richardson? Is it football-related, or that they didn't send him flowers after the accident?
  20. But you said in another post that if we get all our players back and firing, we have a good premiership chance. Now you want to sack the coach. Bizarre.
  21. Its quite sad for supporters who are not capable of enjoying the journey we have been on since 2018.
  22. History Lesson: I think I would trust Ridley's word over Gutnick's anyday. And by the way, I was an anti-merger.
  23. History Lesson - Gutnick was willing to switch allegiance and back the merger if the players agreed, according to a later statement made by Ridley.
  24. [censored], It is clear that our previous presidents prioritise their egos over the club's best interests. Who leaked this chat to the HS? Green or Gutnick? I hope it was not Green. If it was, I would not want him anywhere near the board, let alone the presidency.
  25. It is my understanding that there is no legal exposure if you slander a business / organisation, but if you slander an individual, then they can sue. Stand to be corrected.
