He's 196cm according to the man himself from the road to the draft podcast he featured on. Probably still growing as an 18yr old.
-
Sheezel, Wardlaw and Tsatas would all be in the mix, but you're right in that Cadman to North is a real possibility.

Information in this article update is consistent with what @Demon3has been stating re our compensation request. UPDATE: Demons ruck requests trade to WA club - https://www.afl.com.au/news/842339 "But now the Demons will be locked in trade talks. If he chooses Fremantle the reigning premiers would be expected to target two first-round picks for Jackson, including a top-10 pick this year." "The Dockers hold pick 13 in this year's draft, but could look to move up the draft board using other selections, with the club bracing for trade requests from Rory Lobb, Blake Acres and Darcy Tucker, with Griffin Logue also considering a move to Victoria." "West Coast holds picks No.2, 20 and 26 this year but as AFL.com.au reported in May, would need AFL approval to trade its first pick under League rules. The AFL would be expected to tick that off given Jackson’s age and experience."

Would be on our untouchable list I would imagine. To even get us at the table for a contracted kozzie they would need to be offering up Georgiades or Butters + pick 8.

I get what you're saying but there's no reason we can't look to the future while we challenge in the present. Genuine key forward talents are hard to come by, both via the draft and on the trade market. If you can get yourself in a position to set up your key forward pillars for the next 10 years (JvR and Cadman) then you would be negligent not look at it. Of course I wouldn't advocate for compromising our ability to compete for a flag by selling required players in order to do this. But by chance the currency we get for Jackson (if he goes) does enable us to get him then it's a no brainer in my view and may set us up for a sustained window to challenge.

Is it an appropriate time now given that we are out of the finals?
-
I think this shows that we are getting a lot right and it won't take much for us to work on some deficiencies and be right in the mix next year. We will benefit immensely from the added time in the off-season to get as many players as we can up and running for a full pre-season. Any alleged hubris left over from 2021 should be well and truly gone with an added sting of a straight sets finals exit providing added motivation. The forward line and connection to it is the major concern but I have faith we have, or will have, the required personnel to contend. The coaches need to work out a plan to become more efficient in the forward half. Defensively we are still sound, we need to added some attacking flare back into the mix.

I'd be demanding Butters or Georgiades.
-
Only way I can see them getting the dogs first rounder is with their future first + Lobb. Even then I would think that unlikely.
-
Ah yes, good point.

So Geelong, Sydney, Collingwood or Brisbane. Hope Sydney take it out.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
Nascent replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Saw a number of Brisbane fans being escorted from the ground by security and police, at least one in handcuffs. There was certainly a foul component from a section of their supporter base last night. -
Think someone mentioned that exit interviews are on Tuesday? With freo out we will know relatively soon what his intentions are.

I've lost a lot of respect for Brisbane in the last month. -

Star in the making. Will have future AA jumpers and could easily play forward as well. JT has worked some magic with the steak knives pick from the Jake Lever trade. -
Need to sign this kid up for another 3+ years, lest some filthy WA clubs get in his ear about returning home.
-
That's fair and JvR has done some rucking this year as well so club clearly thinks he can pinch hit there.
-
He's contracted, no way we let him walk. Also Adelaide and Port are allegedly going to get Rankin and Dunkley respectively which will cost first rounders minimum, so they will have bugger all trade capital to make anything appealing to us. Next year is when we worry.
-
Weids been huge today and capping off his afternoon with two contested grabs and a goal. Ruck/forward will be his way back into the team going forward .
-
Didn't appear that way but came off with a blood nose. Must have had some high contact that wasnt obvious on the coverage.
-
No, Sydney have our first round pick this year. Pending confirmation from results tonight our first pick in draft this year will be 32.

Prior to list management decisions and the trade/draft period this is how I could see us lining up for round 1 next year. *I have assumed Jackson will request a trade. FB. Turner May Bowey HB. Rivers Lever Salem C. Langdon Oliver Brayshaw HF. Spargo JvR Sparrow FF. Pickett Petty Fritsch R. Gawn Petracca Viney IC. Harmes Hunt Jordan (2nd ruck, via trade or Weideman) With the absence of any key forwards on the trade market we will have to look within to find a competitive tall foward structure which I believe should involve two genuine talls. BBB may still fill this role but I think Petty has proven to be one of our best contested marks. Swung foward late in our semi final loss, he immediately impacted with a strong contested mark and goal before having hands in another. JvR with another preseason under his belt should be ready to play the majority of the year in the senior team. Having both play forward will provide significant aerially threats that will be more suitable to the current gamestyle we play. For this to happen, a competent replacement for Petty in the backline needs to he found and I believe we have one in Turner who has been a dominant figure in Casey's backline this year. I have assumed Jackson will request a trade. I will be surprised if we don't source a second ruck with speculation that Grundy and Meek are on our radar. I haven't included either at this stage to avoid putting in players from other teams that may or may not he on our list. Hopefully pushing for selection Howes, Laurie, Woewodin, Chandler, Bedford Depth McDonald, Brown, Hibberd, ANB, Dunstan, Tomlinson, J. Smith, D. Smith, AMW, McVee, Weideman Players moved on Jackson*, Melksham, Baker, Rosman, M. Brown

I'm surprised and shocked on two counts. 1. Someone found Daniher attractive enough to do the deed 2. Daniher was accurate enough to "kick a goal."
-
I might cop it a bit here but an article today suggested Hunter Clark may be open to a move. Been injury prone but if we back our staff to get him fit he could slot well into the back half for life post Hibberd.
