Exactly and tbh maybe im a realist but I was far more worried about Kozi leaving (and Langford in the future) than the remnants of 2021 even if we must acknowledge what they did to get us to that glory.

Gees did you watch 2025? There were numerous times when Kozzi was the best for us in the middle, speed, break away, disposal, linking up .

If $700K a year ends up being more than a potential new club pays him, and by some miracle the game reverts to inside contested footy and he wins a brownlow, does that mean we can put him down as an MFC brownlow?

This post reads like drunk-posting Have you been following what has been going on since 2021? Are you aware that there may be two sides to every story. The real story may not be good guys/bad guys but far more nuanced than that, and clearly poorly managed or ignored in the hope that it would all settle with some wins? Clarry went off the rails, but after a break up and untreated ADHD there may have been mitigating factors, although Id concede that if he was fringe he would have been gone pretty quickly. May is vocal in his opinions but what if - just got a moment - some of his grievances are valid? What if he doesnt rate the leaders at the club for a variety of reasons? I mean how many AFL leadership groups reportedly sit in busy restaurants complaining about team mates loudly as reported by Mark Robinson last year? As for Petracca he may have had legitimate grievances but you dont make those public unless your ethos may be less about the team reputation and more about your own - that is unless the grievances were so terrible that the relationship cannot continue. Clearly he wanted out so badly last year that he tried to shop himself even when his manager refused to. It just seems like as a club we either managed all these dynamics very poorly or we managed them the wrong way. End of era.

I cant believe people think we should trade Petracca for untried kids in a poor draft. Memberships will be a hard sell for years if we bottom out completely. Player + or he stays.

Ive always rated Mihocek and I think structurally will be where he makes the biggest difference.

I dont really think we told Clarry to march, maybe they challenged him to go outside of his comfort zone? he may still end up at the dees on a nice wicket going through the motions at Casey. I actually rate Clarry as a pretty funny and open guy but I am always reminded that he wouldnt have gone as off the rails if he was a fringe player not on an endless contract. The 2021 Tracc was the memory that I will never let fade, and a lot of our problems stem from losing Jackson and then Brayshaw, the later who was obviously culturally massive and also had a linking up role we never came close to replacing. Would be really crazy though if we trade him and Clarry and then suddenly in 2026 footy moves away from transition, gut running both ways and outside surprises and goes back to Carlton-style inside clearance work and Tracc gets a brownlow! Dont take it personally with Tracc. Its possible some of the reasons he fell out of love with the club were valid, but others may not have been and time will tell. So many times when pushed to say he was still red and blue he would reply with 'i still have a passion for football' which made it pretty obvious he didnt want to say too much. Thanks for 2021 Tracc et al but its 2026 incoming and things change.
