And the Rams catch a break and now have a chance to score before half time

Well at least Colin Kapaernick isn't suiting up to haunt the Packers defence! I still have nightmares about him. For a 3 year stint there, he really was a great player. Often against the Packers But as you said, it's another free hit for the Packers and as foretold, interceptions, fumbles and punt or kick returns can turn a game on it's head A lot will have to go right, but you just never know in this sport and even Dallas were an outside shot today if they had have gotten within I score. A freakish catch, a recovered onside kick and away you go Packers played the percentages in the end but I wanted us to throw the ball once or twice in those last couple of possessions (as the backfield was open)

Lions with a very impressive start. Rams need to get moving
  6. So if Petracca plays 85% of game time and 60% - 65% on the ball, that would leave 20% - 25% forward And he'd be doing a lot less running when forward. Not all high half forwards are expected to do too much running Positionally, a HHF might be placed between HF and a wing and used as a link player. Occasionally used deeper as a goal-kicking threat. A rotating role as such. Especially in Petracca's case He looked comfortable in his part-time role as a forward last season, just needs to find his accuracy (like a few others)

You're right, Dallas is a long shot but Bill will end up somewhere I see Pete Carroll is now in an advisory role but I can't see Belichick taking up that sort of position just yet A bit like Brady, he's got 2 or 3 years left but maybe with a club that contend straight away. But in the NFL, teams can rise from nowhere so maybe the Chargers, as you suggested

Yeah I was mightily impressed but the next assignment is harder. Hopefully for GB, the 49ers come out a bit rusty (Purdy won't have played for 3 weeks) Pound for pound we're up against it but we're in with a shot Nothing went right for Dallas today whilst everything went right for the Packers Love was very good but in many ways, our running game is more important as it makes us multi-dimensional. And Jones was superb

Actually, you never know It's the country of 2nd chances not like it is here where if you get cut, that's normally curtains Belichick hasn't lost it as a head coach. He just ran out of talent, post Brady. Jerry Jones might just make that phone call Bill would know how to manage Prescott for starters I was always a supporter of McCarthy but his post-season record is below average (apart from the SB win which I thank him for)
  10. You're still not making any sense. He might look like a burst player but he does a hell of a lot of running. He has to, because midfielders need to get to a lot of stoppages and they are up and down the field all day Don't be looking at his size as the pointer, that's probably where you are getting confused. And I'm advocating stints in the forward line, not as a permanent high half forward Besides which, if you remember, he held down the high half forward role for the entire 2019 season and never looked tired I'm not sure that you know what you're talking about. Has Wyl hacked into your account?
  11. What are you talking about? If that's the case how does he not blow up as a midfielder? He probably covers 12km - 15km per game as a midfielder (like most midfielders)

8 of 11 here have tipped the Rams but that doesn't mean much The tipping curse has continued into the post-season!

I hate going early on a win. Ultimate mozz In the 2021 GF declaring the win only came when we got 8 goals in front. Might have been another Fritsch goal that sealed the deal Jones has had a game to remember, in a big match situation, his best ever

That's a costly PI penalty on that 2 point play. Could have been a 2 score game Dallas are quite capable so GB need to eat up the clock and hopefully score

You just never know in this sport but Dallas might have needed a TD on that drive Green Bay needs to eat up the clock so lets see how the short passes and running game goes. Can't have a 3 and out *Gorg beat me to it

    Unbelievable scoreline
  18. With a few adjustments we could easily be 6 & 0. You are too much of a pessimist and are prone to exaggeration You probably need to follow another sport as the MFC seems to do your head in. You and Wyl make a good pair ... full of misery We are doing a lot of things right, we just need to adjust the forward connection. And we need fit forwards
  19. @DubDee I reckon he'll be back sooner than people think. Just a gut feeling as he loves playing footy and he'll be missing being involved It's still 2 months until the first game and fitness wise, he'll be good to go as he's keeping up his training. Footy is his life Fingers crossed he's back, better than ever
  20. Yeah, it's fair to say we ruined more than the odd career back then I remember when Neeld said that the players would take 2 or 3 years to get AFL fit and I thought he was just making an excuse in advance As it turned out, we were a long way behind and Neeld was almost certainly right (in that instance)
  21. Kozzie played the first half for the centre bounces against the Crows and was dynamic. I saw enough that night to be convinced that he's good-to-go for cameo's But I'd like him in for the bounces, not as an extractor, but for the 2nd or 3rd possession on the back of Clarrie or Viney winning the ball. In those instances, Petracca could start as a high half forward Kozzie bursting out of the middle after being given the ball by our extractors and then hitting a forward on the chest is entirely possible as he has great skills and excellent pace (and he's elusive) He's good enough to play 2 roles (forward as well) And a nightmare match-up I'm expecting a big year from Kozzie

Novak has got a fight on his hands here ... the young punk in Prizmic is taking it up to the champ Edit: True to form, Prizmic hasn't won a game since
  23. Well at least we agree that Flower played the corridor often Which was the thrust of my original argument where I'd prefer it if the boundary line wasn't a friend for Langdon & Hunter So absolutely knowing how much room you've got as a wingman might lead to using that area and then kicking 'down the line' And I'm over seeing another inside 50 go boundary side and then get thumped out of bounds by the opposition. As previously discussed, those outcomes often leads to another wasted inside forward foray Collingwood on the other hand ..... So you see, I explain my position rather than just sounding off at another loss And you can't change your game plan in a week. We were stuck with that style and didn't have the forwards to carry out our plan (injuries to Brown, T-Mac*, Petty, Melksham, Fritsch**, Brayshaw***) And just blaming Goodwin is poor analysis. He's not the midfield coach nor is he the forwards coach (last year that was the domain of Yze & Stafford) Nor is Goodwin to blame if the players miss easy shots at goal ... that's on the players Goodwin is responsible for the game plan and style of play and he's got a bit of work to do. But sacked? With a 16 & 7 record in 2023, that's a fanciful suggestion *T-Mac on one leg ** Fritsch not fit ***Brayshaw out effected our ability to play Petracca forward
  24. That's folklore, Wyl Something that has grown legs over the years to solidify the whole MCC/Robbie on the members wing story But it's just a story as Flower also played on the Southern Stand wing. And that's without factoring in match ups One thing is for sure, the boundary line was not Robbie's friend, he played the corridor

So we did it tough in 2021, as tough as it gets by today's standards. A reminder that we would have done all the pre-season at Casey/ Gosch's (way before the hubs) Yet somehow, after 57 years and after doing it so tough, we bob up and win the flag! Amazing! We should do it tough a lot more often because if doing it tough delivers premierships, I'm all in Maybe we were doing it a bit too soft beforehand? Too many creature comforts? Quick, let's book Victoria Rd Reserve in Hawthorn with all the stinking quagmire mud that abounds on that oval. There's a small pavillion there to house the Admin etc Ideal set up for next flag!!!
