Great double-play by the Eagles - first the Foles throw to Jeffrey and then Blount runs it in really well from 20+ Eagles go for 2 and don't get it Eagles 15 Pats 3.

Brady drops a sitter - can throw, can't catch Should have been pass interference to Gronk ... a poor non call.

Another good hold-out by the Eagles and then the Pats muck up a chip-shot. A poor & costly error by New England.

NFL
Great run by Blount followed by a great throw by Foles and a great catch by Jeffrey ... everything is great except the point after! Eagles 9 Pats 3

Eagles held them out well after giving up another 5 yard penalty (12 men on the field) 3 points to the Pats Eagles 3 Pats 3

Can't give up a 5 yard penalty in the redzone against the Pats ... excellent drive by the Eagles & Foles but only 3 points.

NFL
Yeah good luck @Dappa Dan The Eagles can win but they can't afford any costly errors against these Patriots. The game isn't over till it's over either.

The latest 30 for 30 (The Two Bills) is worth a look in preparation for the SB ... it may not be up for long but being a doco, it could be. Tells the story of the unique relationship between Bill Parcells & Bill Belichick ...

A Day at the Races
Sha Tin tomorrow for the Centenary Vase (race 3) Only 7 runners but a very competitive race at first glance. The prizemoney on offer up there never ceases to surprise - 500k for a Group 3! Even a number of their handicaps have prize pools of 200k - 300k. It's any wonder a number of Australian jockeys make camp there.

A Day at the Races
I text our 3 picks (Eurack, Bye See & Don't Give A Damn) out to a number of mates who love a bet. One mate cleaned right up but he likes my trifecta's. Another just did the Rosehill double (Bye See & Don't Give A Damn) because he didn't know how to put on a Racing multi. I heard back from 2 who were kicking themselves whilst another 3 have been oddly quiet. ha ha! That'll learn 'em!

A Day at the Races
Ha ha! I'm often suspicious when a trainer has multiple horses in a race (especially the Group races) The Hayes clan often produces a lightweight winner from nowhere. And that's been going on for decades. And would you ever trust a jockey? Punters have a love/hate relationship with nearly all the successful ones. It's all good fun though as long as one bets smart and never to excess. We're all looking for the big payout and why not?

A Day at the Races
Saturday's are going to be busy on this thread by the looks of it ... and the Autumn carnival hasn't even kicked off yet! And believe it or not, I'm really looking forward to the European season (early May through to our Spring) All the big races (2 or 3 every weekend) are posted up on youtube hours later (the quality of the uploads are often first rate too) I'll be in trifecta heaven when those races come around!

A Day at the Races
Yeah it does ... there are no substitutes. I also reckon by going away from the Melbourne races (when it suits) give us a better chance of winning. For instance, my 3 favourite courses to have a bet are Rosehill, Randwick & Flemington. And I probably prefer Ascot to Caulfield ... Moonee Valley has returned mixed results. Of course I do love all the big Group races from anywhere. But I can see myself finding those best bets from outside of the big Group races. Trifecta's preferred in the big races (mainly because of the depth of winning chances)

A Day at the Races
I've always thought that there is a lot of 'knowledge' about that us mug punters never hear about. There is no sure-fire system but I like to eliminate a lot of the doubt involved. The less doubt the better. And that's why I'm going to do 3 doubles within a 3 pick multi ... each way is probably not the way to go because of the negligible odds we're going to get for the place for any of these best bets. Same for a 4 leg multi (4 trio's within that 4 pick) ... again, that's my way as I can't see any of us finding a best bet that is good each way value. Unless we do of course and then the place dividend does comes into it. That way you don't have to worry too much about cashing out as you've already picked up at least 1 'Double' within a 3 pick multi. Or a trio in a 4 pick multi.

A Day at the Races
It's early doors Wadda ... we'll get ourselves organised over time. No rush. I've seen enough today to see us getting some decent collects. I got 2 collects today and if I hadn't have cashed out on one of them I would have had a very very good day. No regrets though as I worked out a way to do it all in the future (see post above) But that's my way ... each individual can do as he or she sees fit. Obviously we're all going to see 1 best bet as the week goes on but in the end I could see 3 or 4 because of your suggestions and D77's suggestions. Maybe we could all put our 1 best bet out there and then another one after everyone has had their go ... the decent fixed odds need to be snapped up early though by the looks of it. Just about everything we liked shortened from Friday evening onwards (re fixed odds)

A Day at the Races
With multi's at the TAB we haven't got the option of 'Each-Way' so you have to painstakingly put separate bets on - or, ring them and ask them to put all the configurations on. I've arrived at doing it a different way - I'm banking on getting 2 from 3 winners or 3 from 4 winners so will do a series of separate bets for the win only. e.g. we arrive at 3 best bets over the course of the week. I will then put all 3 on for the win in a multi and any 2 of the 3 for the win only as well (a double) If we end up with 4 picks or if I want to add another to the 3 I will repeat the same process but have 'saver' bets on 3 of the 4. In a nutshell we identified 6 best bets today (in a roundabout way) ... Eurack (W) Snitty Kitty (2nd) Bedford (W) Bye See (W) Don't Give A Damn (W) and Dainty Tess (yet to run) All 6 were 'reinforced by at least one of us other than the person who originally identified the best bet. I'm not going to count 'From Within' in the 1st at Rosehill as I thought it was only each way value.

A Day at the Races
Well both @Demon77 and myself like Dainty Tess to win (best of luck with that multi D77) but I also like 'Volkoff' at odds to feature. You could work a Tri from that Wadda but don't forget to include 'Caipirinha' ... Ascot Race 6 Yeah I've had a decent day - hopefully you and Wadda can both win late. Don't Give A Damn could now well be set for the Doncaster Hcp ($3Million) ... it kicked away in impressive fashion at the top of the straight.

A Day at the Races
@Wadda We Sing ... yeah dipped out on the Tri in the Expressway. Got one going at Ascot in the Scenic Blast Stakes (7pm) and another in the Centenary Vase at Sha Tin tomorrow (5pm) It's always nice to have a 'saver' but I can see these 3 race multi's/Parlay's being reasonably profitable. You prefer the 3 race parlay's from memory. I got one today so it's been a decent day. And it isn't over yet! Don't Give A Damn is into 2.40

A Day at the Races
Yeah as soon as Ace High was at the tail of the field you knew it probably couldn't win - 'needed the run' by the looks of it. Global Glamour was run out of a place anyway so I was way off with that trifecta. Cashed out on 1 of my 2 live multi's (Eurack, Bedford & Bye See) but it could be an even better day if 'Don't Give A Damn' salutes. Thanks for the heads up on 'Eurack' & 'Bye See' fellas ... reinforcing a 'best bet' seems to be a good addition to our system.

A Day at the Races
Eurack did it on the bit ... very impressive!

A Day at the Races
You need your eyes everywhere following the races D77 ... had standout/best bet written all over it! And the tri paid 172 with the fav winning in a 6 horse field. 'Fiesta' looked impressive winning the Widden Stakes at Rosehill.

A Day at the Races
I like both Snitty Kitty & Bedford Wadda It's too late now but I didn't see 'From Within' as a standout ... will only mention horses from here on in that do standout (like 'Bye See' & 'Don't Give A Damn) Like your thinking there with those quinella's ... we've got quite an array of choices when we include 'Eurack' and those that you have mentioned. By the looks of it both @Demon77 and myself like Dainty Tess at Ascot later on too (Race 6)

A Day at the Races
'From Within' never threatened. Never looked like it.

A Day at the Races
Could be a case of great-minds-think-alike there D77 ... there's some comfort in a horse shortening in the market! I haven't done multi's or W & P all that often lately so the shortening of the odds is quite noticeable ... the Tote odds are still reasonable so maybe it's a case of waiting a few hours. I can put my trifecta's on at least. With the multi's I'm probably just going to do a few 3 pick multi's for the win. Each way as well on our Best Bet line-up. And I've got Dainty Tess on top along with a bit of value in 'Volkoff' (12-1 on the Tote - 18-1 Fixed) Volkoff is meeting Caipirinha 3kgs better from their last encounter.

A Day at the Races
Kopi Lewak is out of Race 5 The fixed odds have come in a bit (in a general sense) ... I'll wait for a bit before putting my multi's on.
