He sprayed it a bit in that GF but he's one touch at full fast pace and has a good side step. He'll do damage.

As I read your post I was transported back to the early ‘90’s when I was at my peak.

    Ball on string. 💪🤣

  2. I think we all know that when you strip away all of the [censored] and the red and blue glasses are taken off of our faces, it’s pretty clear that Petty is going to end up at Adelaide this trade period.

What a shame - I really don’t want to see him go

    But…

There’s too much noise - simple.

If we are making a play for the number 1 pick & Reid there are going to be alot of dissapointed people who want us to change our game plan. This would signify we are doubling down on it.

The bloke is a human battering ram that gets it forward at all costs. I haven't seen any evidence he kicks like Nick Daicos.

    Really?

Never watched him live but all of the vision of Reid I have viewed indicates his DE is pretty tidy and can drop deft kicks on chests in tight areas.
his ability to fend off, pivot and clear the footy shows great vision and decision making.

I hope we sell the farm for this kid.

You would’ve FORCED him to play? You can lead a horse to water etc.

I'm just not short-sighted and obsessive with our current list, like you and so many others.

My god, if someone could be bothered, I'd love to see which posters bemoaned Frawley leaving, Watts leaving, the inclusion of Melksham etc etc. It would be hilarious. So many.

I'm keen on becoming a club that builds its profile and supporter base by creating sustained success. How do you think that occurs, ol' mate PA?

I'll be clear again. Nobody knows the machinations or players available for trade. Why do you think I'm obsessed with unders talent alone? It's a clearly a mixture of both? And when you give up something, that opens avenues to so many possibilities. You and your merry followers refuse to see.

Again. Why don't you just stick to telling us how bullet proof our game plan is come finals time?

I'd love to hear it again.

@Gator was pretty cut up about Watts leaving if I can recall correctly.

If we got creative, 10, 20 and McAdam for Petty could be a great investment for the future. Especially if we got a stop-gap player in the meantime..

Supporters always fear the worst and get super emotional over these sorts of deals.

But what it'd allow us to do as far as move up the draft again and/or take on a Haynes contract with GWS first pick or something of the like. (the possibilities are many).

    I don't mind it.

In my mind, we've got to give something to get something and to move forward. I rate Petty really highly. But not more than a gold rejig of our list in general. And sometimes these decisions need to be made in order to stay there abouts over multiple campaigns.

And of we want to see sustained success, these are the kind of list management decisions that are needed to be made. Hard one. But if what is reported is true, that's a seriously good offer for one player.

    I'd do it for sure.

I think we need Petty next year whether he plays forward or back - he’s too good to be letting go now.  We can’t afford to lose another key player like that in particular. If we are still challenging for premierships, it’s too early to let him go and upset the apple cart that much.

So, just to be clear, what you're saying is that we should pick this year's draftees based upon who has or hasn't been been picked in the past, not solely on the quality of draftees available this year?

    Ok then 🤔

I read it as an example.

Don’t miss the irony Stiffy. 🤣

Who have they got so far that's anything more than a standard meat and potatoes footballer? Adams and JJ couldn't get games with their respective sides at vital points of the year.

Adams had a great second half of the season and would’ve played in the GF not for his Hammy.
We all know JJ was down the pecking order.
They’re not jets but I wouldn’t scoff at what the Swans have managed so far.

  9. We seem to have such a bounty of picks (excess to available list spots) that if we can’t add them together to pull off an absolute steal, it will feel as though it’s a waste.

    Feeling a little bit cornered… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well Clarries second half of the year was his poorest on record (in my opinion) and against a sensational last 4 years of great years. His return from injury and finals were underwhelming and I thought one of Goodwins tasks during the off season was to not only change the game plan or focus of our chaos ball attack, but to get Clarrie to buy in and get re-energised within the team. Not necessarily an easy thing to do.

Add to that Yze going, who the midfield team apparently loved and theres plenty of space for clubs and journos to see a chance of jamming a wedge into our fragile team ethos after straight set double exits. We can be guaranteed these sort of stories continuing to be shoved down our throat, just as sure as the feelgood stories will continue for the next 12 odd months about Collingwood. It will be MFC who will be held to account for Brayshaws concussion issues, not football hero Maynard.

Finally Oliver has yet to become an adult. He might be off-side.

These are big issues for us going forward and Kate Roffey through to Goodwin and Max and the whole playing list need to spend time and energy healing, re-focussing and uniting into a strong and driven club. We are in for a wild off season.

Whether it's an unfounded rumour or not, it's our response that will count.

Seems like you enjoy buying into the hyperbole yourself.

    Far out.

Yeh, but if that were true, Goody would.  See Hogan and Watts.  Nowhere near as good a players but both were Bambi.

Goody doesn't mind shooting Bambi, and we got a flag as a result.

Maybe it’s just the AFL media circus getting instructions to go full loco this trade period with some of the most ridiculous and outlandish deals imaginable?

Have a look at their trade shows line up..

Just another level for the clowns.

  12. Fritsch isn’t the brute like Mackay, Lynch et al but by hell he’s our most prolific scorer and is quite simply ‘the man’ in our FF line.
We missed him for a chunk due to injury and it clearly impacted the team negatively.

Personally, I can’t see the massive difference a guy like Mackay or Lynch would make on top of another year into JVR and particularly if Petty will remain forward

Unless we haven’t decided that Petty is a permanent forward and will go back.

Still in the race, but I think the Eagles are heavy favourite which might be why we pick off Jamieson. Flynn probably a bit expensive.

Preuss must be feeling the love after hearing that. 🤔😆
