  1. My understanding is we suffered a number of injuries pre season from that camp last year that impacted on early season results/form. The players were more than happy to do a camp....just not that one. As long as they're brought up to elite AFL match fitness levels i couldn't give a rats whether they went or not. That's what Misson is being paid a handsome sum for. They failed to run out a number of matches and went missing in quarters last year so the camp didn't work then and it wouldnt have been any better had they done it again this time. I would rather they spend the time working on forward 50 entries, set plays, goal kicking and forward pressure work etc.
  2. Ah I forgot we missed an open goal from 10 meters out in the 3rd.... That also came back to haunt them
  3. One horrible throw in and usual home crowd dubious frees cost them the match. The ump threw it straight in right at the end there instead of towards the centre and gave them about a 20 meter advantage with the wind instead of 5 or so ??
  4. Our ruck woman can tap but that's about it....fumbling all night
  5. Sorry but in the 5 decades I've been watching It's usually injuries that define our year TGR. They are footballers not soldiers
  6. I'm afraid even winning won't matter unless we make it deep into a finals campaign UH. Along with the Aints we are the AFL's (inc. fans & media) easiest whipping boy.
  7. It's an off week. Just digging the barrel
  8. The demons need to inject some demon and stand up to the AFL on this one. Some traditions shld never be tinkered with and this is one of them.
  9. A sad attempt SWY. They sound like a bunch of eunuchs compared to the original Fables. "Stuff" is too nice a term for the AFL on this one!
  10. If she's dancing i wld be quite happy for you to sing it Ethan
  11. Not the banjo! Happy Hammond will hear about this
  12. I find that hard to believe Smart
  13. We have been incapable of doing that for a decade in most seasons now. In modern day terms that's either the inability of a plan B by the coaches to switch to a shut down 'man on man' role for 10 minutes or so (or however long it takes to wrest the game back) or the players inability/willingness to do so. Playing the zone tends to look/work great when you have most of the pill. When the opposition starts getting a lot of it and also start hitting more targets, the zone is a gift to the opponent and needs to be binned quickly until the arm wrestle is back on an equal / neutral footing. Part of the change up is also getting goal side or / fat side of your opponent when the they have a run on to defend. I argued last year we were at least a quarter off the better / mediocre teams in the league in this area and questioned if Misson was the right man for the mission. Early days. I hope he (the club) prove me wrong as the season proper gets underway but I've yet to be convinced after many seasons with this bloke at the ELITE performance/recovery helm.
  14. It didn't take long
  15. This on Casey radio?
  16. Come visit us in tropical Melbourne if you need some sun guys..... Perfect one day, humid the next!
  17. Andy could you add the The "JLT 2 vs St Kilda" thread to the notable absentees pls? Cheers
  18. Until we win a flag we are always an easy target for this sort of rubbish media sound byte pre-season. Post Hutchy, (and no doubt beforehand as well in many cases) SEN is now scrounging around the bottom of the skip to find any old scrap in order to piece together a story (any story will do!) at the moment and dress it up as fact. I can't listen to the drivel they put up now and switched off as soon as I heard Cornes and Radar were programmed for an all morning / arvo session. Talk about ho hum ???
  19. Clever Moon. Wondering if this was a re-hashed lampoon. An old Labor leader / PM comes to mind also ?
  20. Can someone tell me where the Bugg painting in that article? Quite impressive
  21. Clint do you have any idea how many times the Toiges ended up @ 9th before they won last year?
  22. I am not as pumped about Brayshaw either DA but lets hope he makes it through injury free to see what potential is there. Maynard is going to be some story me thinks given enough opportunity
  23. As long as he doesn't start in the mid field as we had him do against the Pies in the final game last year. Basically gives our opponent one less head ache / match up to worry about in their defence, slows up our mid field (or makes it slower) and deprives Hogan of valuable game time up forward to learn his craft and/or the potential to hit the scoreboard. Don't mind if used very sparingly in the odd game as a change up as long as he isn't starting there.
  24. Maldon you had me hitting yet another pre-season high.....until
