Uncle what is this staff you speak of? In shock re your P.S. 's! Coming from such a fine up-holder of all that is good and altruistic. Shame on you!

Not sure Goody has an edge that will put much fear (if any) into any of this lot. Too complacent and easy going. All good when all is well but when the going gets tough there appears to be a lack of venom / vigour / edge to drive this group to another level and step up to match and pressure / lock down on an opponent when they start getting a run on. Still too one paced aside from Rivers, Langdon and Hunt, not enough crumbers, no KFs presenting and poor forward structure as a result of no genuine effective KF marking power. All ahead full steam far too often coming inside 50. Rarely stop, prop and go lateral or backwards around the arc to maintain possession if percentage outlets are covered. Instead we continually bomb as per last year. Negatives > T-Mac gawnsky up forward? Straight swap for May? Jones completely Gawnsky? Smith horrid down back. Melk AWOL ....again. Salem refuses to take the game on and kick further than 20 odd meters or so and mostly down the line. Fritschkreig about the only marking threat up forward, other than Tracc (when he goes there) but can't hit the broad side of a barn atm. Why wasn't Tracc played forward for a longer stint? We are stagnant / hesitant running the ball out of the goal square with all that open space in front playing old style footy while the bulk of teams run the ball out most of the time gaining valuable meters often to mid field. Why was Gawny lairising with rediculous blind tap outs out the back straight to Blues players on a few occasions in the third quarter? Cost u so few goals imv. General field kicking after quarter time dropped away gradually. Pressure after quarter time, in particular in our forward 50, was woeful The Blues escaped with relative ease from then on with poor delivery also impacting here. Match fitness impacting as game went on maybe but it's the same for both teams. Not enough handball to players out wide in space after half time. Too much handball in close ensuring the heat remained mostly on. Positives > Rivers great debut has some toe, Jackson found it a little as the game went on, Tracc was vg, Gawny good 1st half. Gus wasn't bad, Langdon ok early but dropped away afterwards. Viney nb in patches. ANB's lace out pass inside 50 in the first Q was lovely to watch as was the chain that got it into his hands in the first place. More of that pls fellas. In summary a win is a win but we still need more pace, crumbers / smaller players putting pressure on and collecting ground ball at the drop and the biggest elephant....a genuine KPF.

My expectations must be way off the mainstream here. Seeing the players take the field would be pretty exciting right now

The old cartoon imposer at the end. Johhno involved in the winning goal. Great effort from Williams to keep his feet, spin outta that pack and spot up Gazz for the finish. Noice!

Still not sure how Glendenning wasnt freed there. GAARRRRYYYYY!!
-
Head for the boundary!

"That wasn't there....just a really good solid contest ..." says Bill as McKenna is free kicked having almost been put in a wheel chair by the Duke! ?

And showed that even from a long bomb from Williams outside 50....if you play in front and have half decent attack and skills as a forward, you can make something from not much. Balls Grinter also had a few WC forwards hearing footsteps on occasions. Always knew how to set the cat amongst the pidgeons.

Johnno had a very good 2nd half. One of only two players to join the no-merger movement in 96 and easily lands in my all time fav Demons. All class.

Saw one of the old gang ...Vince from Sassafras goin off with that last Jackson goal. Haven't seen him in a few decades

I hope all ye young fellas out there who never got to see much success are takin' notice of the grit, guts & determination needed to win the big ones. There's gold up in them there hills i tell ye!

Don't lose heart BBO. If we just keep bombing it in often enough, for long enough it will surely turn around at some point. Our forward line looks potent on paper and will turn things around over the next 8 weeks mark my words. Just need a bit of time to sort themselves and organise things! And then there's that zonal defence. Working a treat and no sign of wavering. Goody's got this!

I don't think that was ever in doubt DOF. Won't even get one viewing in as i didn't renew my Kayo from last season. Just paid a final visit to Dan's to stock up on some imbibing fluid. Time to hunker down.
-
Thought we went overs pre-season and would peter out too early (Rnd 16 - 20ish). You don't think a shortened season won't benefit us? If we get there that is....might take 34 weeks plus.
