It opens up a role for someone else, who is looking to step into a senior position, as our midfield coach is generally the '2nd in charge' on gameday and runs the box. The last two men who had this role ended up in a senior coaching position shortly after. There would be lots of great assistants who would love this same opportunity. I would like to see Cameron Bruce offered that role, but I am sure there are others.

Ruckman are the least important part of a premiership team…. Unless you ruckman happens to be Max Gawn (or Dean Cox). Many teams have won with mediocre rucks who just gave a physical contest, and Sydney would have lost just as badly yesterday if Fort was their ruckman instead of Grundy.

A big shout out to the Big O. Carried himself beautifully in the face of real adversity. The pure joy on his face was really great to see, as well as the way he celebrated with Fort. A wonderful teammate. Total opposite to Mills who had a year to forget from a leadership standpoint.

As I watched the grand final yesterday, I said to my dad how I would love to inflict this sort of humiliation on the Pies in a grand final. That would truly be the best revenge.

Daniher gone (?), Neale, Zorko and Andrews another year older. They’ve gone close many times and failed. It’s been a long while since we’ve had back to back premiers, because backing up has never been harder in a season so long and so demanding.

If ever there was a year to do it, this was it. Such an even season. Top 4 made up of seriously flawed teams.

Their forwardline is not the issue. Their defense is and their clearance work. No idea why they didn’t play Adams. They have too many outside mids who can’t win their own ball when the heat is on. Grundy has the second most clearances for them currently.
