  1. The Gold Coast 'brand' is gonna take a big hit if they can't pull off a trade for the best player they've had since Gary Ablett Jnr agreeing to join them It'll go down like sour milk for Trac and any other big name they potentially chase in the future
  2. This is precisely why he needs to force their hand, AND use the compassionate grounds to make it happen Gold Coast can absolutely flip the narrative and come out as the good guys here, if they say "we have been recently made aware of challenges that Bailey and his family are facing, and despite our best efforts to help the situation, it became clear that a move home was the best outcome for Bailey and his family". It's really easy for GC to back down on compassionate grounds. Really easy.
  3. I like that the kid has integrity and doesn't want to burn Gold Coast... it's a nice change from the player we are trying to trade him for. But if his personal matter is pressing, then I have no doubt his teammates would be understanding of his desire to leave At the end of the day how hard he pushes them with GC will determine how far they can be moved If he says 'yeah going home would be nice' it won't happen. He needs to say 'going home is a necessity and it will happen, if not now then soon enough'
  4. Ugh the brand strikes again
  5. Because he’s a 21 year old version of Petracca
  6. Maybe there is no public knowledge of this because all parties have agreed to keep it quiet out of respect for the personal situation that Bailey is dealing with? There has been enough media discussion about Humphrey meeting with / speaking to a number of clubs, and if you didn't take the hint from his Instagram post the other day that he wants to come home, you're not spending enough time on social media At the end of the day we said we are interested, and GC said they are not Anything that happens beyond that you can speculate on or not, but the photo evidence that he's met with our coach says to me that he's at the very least taken a meeting. If he didn't want to progress any further with us (or another club), it would be a very simple "I am happy at the GC" type of statement from him or his manager. We are now a week into the trade period, and all we have gotten out of the Humphrey camp is a post about 'coming home' and radio silence about his desire to stay at the Suns Saying nothing sometimes is saying a lot
  7. Max being wheeled out to every potential recruiting meeting until the end of days
  8. I think it would be a pretty low move to boo Clarry or Trac. They gave us the best years of their careers and they got us a flag. We don't win it without them. Judas however, deserves our boos.
  9. Need more
  10. At least he's not going to Collingwood. That would have broken me completely. I think it doesn't matter how you feel about Clarry as a player or a person, it's totally valid to feel sad that the career of someone who was an out and out champion for this club, is ending elsewhere and that he's leaving the club on such a sour note, and for very little return. He, the club and the fans all deserve better than this ending
  11. It is far easier to trade future picks, as you can always get back into the draft later If we are holding onto a 2nd round pick in this year's draft for now, there must be a reason why Perhaps we think someone will bid on White at around that mark, or we may be looking to package up points to another club A future 3rd is nothing pick that will be easily obtainable next year, IF we want it
  12. How this trade plays out or doesn’t play out, will tell us a lot about what we can except under the new administration headlined by Guerra and King If we relent to the demands of a newbie nepo baby club and a petulant diva, then we have not changed anything other than the bum cheeks warming the seats
  13. Doubtful. They’re paying $1.01 to win the spoon in 2026
  14. That could potentially unlock something If we can trade them 7+8 for 2 then we would look at it
  15. Not even worth sending a fax to AFL house for that
  16. I know many here won’t agree but I’m very broken hearted about this one Clarry holds a special place in my heart and I am incredibly sad that he won’t finish his career in red and blue He isn’t perfect, in fact he’s a mess, but he’s our mess and I will always support him I hope he is happy and healthy
  17. Cotton On does not approve this message
  18. At around the 6 minute mark he said we made a deliberate decision to go hard last year by trading a F1, because we know how compromised this draft is and he didn’t sound fussed about not having a first round pick in this year’s draft Considering that it’s been years since we traded away a F1 and then didn’t aggressively look to get back into the first round, we can very clearly see that we don’t rate this draft nor are we prioritizing getting back into the first round We have one of the best recruiters in the league. If he thought he could get stars at 7 and 8, I think this deal would already have been done and dusted We very clearly want a player and we are going very very hard at that player Will we relent if we don’t get him? Maybe but it’s absolutely not what we want and there is also definitely still a world where we say to Trac sorry we tired but better luck next year
  19. Listen to the update that was posted on the club with Lamb just before trade week started I think if the opportunity was there to grab pick 2 from West Coast for example then yes we would be interested. IF we trade Trac for picks 7+8, it says to me that we just couldn’t get Humphrey to push his case hard enough, and that we are pretty keen to get the Trac drama out the door But I’m not sure we are
  20. Lamb has said multiple times we have no interest in this draft and it’s why we deliberately exited out of the first round last year So suddenly we do think this draft is good enough to throw away a sure thing in Trac for? It makes no sense
  21. We aren’t paying anything of his salary if we are taking a F3 Take that to the bank
  22. He follows the Pies and De Goey His taste in Instagram friends is very suspect I would reconsider this deal
  23. He and us were ready to make the call last year This is why players waiting around for a better deal or to be OOC is a risk I understand Derksen was keen last year but we couldn’t force GWS to trade him. It sucks for him, because he could be locked away on a 3 year deal at the Dees right now Also we have a new coach so it’s not unreasonable to change course Ross wined and dined Alir and then went “nah we ran out of money or something better came up” That’s dodgy
  24. Totally not the same We were keen on Derksen and GWS refused to trade him and he then went and got seriously injured If he wants to be filthy with anyone he can be filthy with GWS for refusing to trade a bit player with 3 kids to feed
