  1. Need to sign him up
  2. If he somehow manages to get us to beat a good side, I would agree with him. But this is not a bump along the way, more like a bump out of the finals.
  3. Go and get Clarkson
  4. About time. We needed it then when we were in major debt and playing like crap anyway. Now it is impacting our ability to succeed on the field, which is priority #1. Time to go.

Roos like Jackson didn’t leave. He effectively retired, which is very different. I don’t think Melbourne would let another CEO meddle in the footy department. The problem at Collingwood is that everyone felt entitled to get involved in the footy department because their president did. How can a president except the CEO not to get involved when he is so deeply and destructively involved, I don’t know. We have a very different set up and a very different structure. I have no doubt when given the job, Pert was told his KPIs revolve around revenue, membership, sponsorship and finding a permanent united home base.

Whenever someone in a senior position leaves any job, there is always some bad blood somewhere. Otherwise why leave? Anyone who has ever left a job usually feels some animosity towards their former employer and vice versa. I am very comfortable with this appointment and I trust both our board and the AFL. If Pert did a lot wrong they wouldn’t endorse his appointment. We have come too far and they don’t want us to become a basket case again! Trust me, they have enough issues with the likes of GC. Now let’s build a home base, get a better fixture and get rid of the NT deal.
  7. I am far from his biggest fan but he wasn’t even close to our worst today. Our midfield sucked hardcore today. 18 clearances down. Nothing the backline could do, including Lewis. He was ok under enormous pressure. The loss today comes down to the midfield group who couldn’t get it and couldn’t use it. How TMac kicked 6 is amazing to me.
  8. Good opportunity to learn from the best ruck in the competition. One day we will need to replace Gawn.
  9. I don’t care for all you wet blankets. I love Masterchef and I love Melbourne. I can’t wait to watch it tonight to the subtle background groans of my boyfriend who thinks everything I watch on tv is garbage.
  10. I am so so happy for him. He is seriously good and just needs some continuity. Well done Gussy!!
  11. Quoted for truth #Jettaforpresident
  12. Talk about twisting my words. He is very calm and uses the ball well. He has beaten every opponent so far (take away Brown’s dodgy frees and he had 1 kicked on him), and has been our most consistent performer this year. Lets appreciate his improvement and not compare him to players that don’t need comparison
  13. Great debut. Did not look out of place one bit.
  14. Has been fantastic. Never panics. Good with ball in hand. Super consistent. Never in doubt. Even was he was fresh and everyone called him a spud because they are impatient, he showed some good signs of being calm under pressure and a good reader of the player. Will be a solid FB for years to come! Need to sign up him and Tommy stat.
  15. Need to play as an inside mid. We were getting destroyed in clearances last night. Why oh why was Gus not in there?
  16. What worries me is that Goodwin and the other coaches don't think they are communicating down to the bench well enough. Why is this a concept we are struggling with? Are the players to blame? Do our coaches have a communication problem? Do they want Macca on the bench to help with tactical changes on the ground during quarters? Anyway if McCartney is in charge of both player and coach development, how can he develop coaches if he is not in the box on game day assessing what is going on, which is the most important part of any coaches' job.
  17. As some of us said last year, key defenders take a long time to mature and Oscar has certainly come on quicker than I expected. His calmness has really stood out this year while the rest of our backline has been [censored] their pants and running in circles. A real improver this year, in what I feel has been a disappointing start to the year for many players who seem to have stalled or regressed.
  18. Wrong, we'd still be worried because Watts is not, has never been, and will never be a KPF. In fact he did best as a third tall.
  19. Only two are actually proven quality. That’s not a lot.
  20. Wonderful news. So happy for him and wish him all the best!
  21. He’s currently in one of the most spectacular parts of the world according to Insta. He needs to enjoy it before the drab Burgo interviews start coming his way.
  22. What will people say if our 1st pick next year is pick 18? Did we pay over? We could finish top 4, and with compensation picks etc it might well end up pushing towards the end of the 1st round anyway. Besides, we have commodities on our list that we can trade for a 1st rounder next year if we felt very strongly after getting someone specific in the so called 'super draft' (e.g.- Salem, Brayshaw, who knows maybe even Weids if he has a good season). I'm not saying we should trade any of our better players, but if we desperately wanted to get back into next year's 1st round, we could make it happen. Everybody is so quick to think their club has gotten screwed in a deal, but sometimes it's a win win and believe me there isn't 1 Crows fan or administrator who wouldn't give us those picks back to still have Lever. He is an exceptional player with massive scope for further development, and he immediately makes us a better side. Considering we were 0.05% off finals last year, adding someone of Lever's calibre to the team is a huge boost!
  23. We get deals done every single year because we are good to deal with! There is a lot to be said for being a fair and transparent club to deal with, it makes life a lot easier for us and encourages players to nominate us, as they know we can get a deal done. We didn't pay over and we didn't pay under, we paid market value for a gun 21 year old. Would you want less if Hogan was to leave? Trac? Oliver? No, we would want more. Lever is in the same class.
