  1. I’ve always loved Dusty because despite being one of the best all time players and achieving everything, IMO he’s remained pretty humble. It was so nice to see him actually talk to McVee instead of rubbing his face in it, when clearly it’s no shame to lower your colours to a champion like Dusty. It’s happened to far greater and more experienced players. He is back in form and that undoubtedly makes Richmond better. An absolute star of the game he is. Some of the stuff he does is mind boggling. Imagine if all those years ago we drafted him ahead of $cully 🤮
  2. Petty’s biggest strength has always been his ability to read the play. It’s why he’s such a good defender. So it was never that far reaching that he could be a good forward. The way he positioned himself in spots that were hard to defend just showed you how easy that transition would be for him on a full time basis. Of course it helps that he can also take a good contested grab. I just didn’t know he could kick for goal so well. I assume that might ebb and flow, but his ability to lead to dangerous spots, mark the ball and position himself is not going to change. He played on two very good defenders in Grimes and Balta. Balta is second in the league for intercept possessions, and he only had 5 yesterday because it became obvious he had to defend Petty, not just peel off him. I thought it was a match losing move by Richmond to move him forward in the last to be honest.
  3. I forgot about them. They’re that irrelevant. Been crying for 20 years about how they were hard done by when they took illegal drugs and got busted. So sad.
  4. I had two lovely normal well spoken Richmond fans in front of me, who left 10 minutes early to catch a train to Bendigo and wished us luck for the rest of the season on the way out. I nearly fainted. 10/10 behavior from them. They were gracious and really nice!
  5. Broad putting his arm up to block Kosi didn’t help his cause. But I agree, very harsh call.
  6. How I slept knowing we’ve ended Richmond’s season
  7. Gawn had more touches in one quarter than Soldo had for the entire game
  8. But the real question is, does David King still think Freo will take our spot in the top 4? 🙄 The day King rates us, is the day we are doomed.
  9. You can manage players without resting them. I think one of Woey, Harmes or JJ come out for Sparrow this week if he’s ok to play. I don’t think they’ll risk Oliver. I think next week is a great time to play Kosi and Rivers through the middle a bit more and give Viney a lot less time on the ball. The only thing I would consider is bringing Grundy in to give Gawn a chop out, but I don’t know who you drop for him. It is also entirely possible that Tomlinson is dropped and Smith plays down back for the full game.
  10. Pressure for spots is incredibly important at this time of year. We just need to pray that we don’t have anymore key injuries.
  11. We’ve just played probably 3 of the best attacking sides in the game. In fact Adelaide and Lions are one and two for scoring. Goody acknowledged that. So no, we aren’t happy to concede 90+, but we took the risk of playing more attacking and won. Against less potent attacks, we should be able to concede lower scores while continuing to kick big scores ourselves. As for coming from behind to win, Pies seem to be the best side ever seen because they keep doing it. So what does that make us? In 2021 we had this ability to never be out of games. We came back and won and it proved the difference in the end. Especially on GF day. It’s great to see us find that ability again. It comes down to fitness and believe and we seem to have regained both after last year.
  12. I will give you a million dollars if this happens 5 unforced changes 4 weeks out from finals after we just won 4 in a row. Yeah, nah
  13. They are crying that they lost because of the umpires 😂 You can’t make up this level of delusion.
  14. The only thing that should change is the doctor
  15. Nothing tastes sweeter than the salty tears of arrogant Richmond/Geelong/Pies/Carlton fans
  16. Not according to @WalkingCivilWar it isn’t.
  17. We are hitting form. Nobody is getting rested unless they’re injured. I expect Viney and Gawn to have far fewer TOG minutes during this game and Trac will play forward for longer, especially if Sparrow is back. Do not flirt with form. Port rested 9 players for their game against Carlton, and haven’t won a game since.
  18. Who picks this in round 1 😂
  19. We won’t rest but we will give Viney and Trac less time on ball once Sparrow and Clarry return to freshen them up. I don’t think that they’ll risk Clarry next week.
  20. His last game up forward he kicked 4 in a half then went off injured.
  21. Chandler has to stay. We are light on for defensive forwards when Kosi plays higher. Fritsch can replace Woewodin who is playing high half forward.
  22. It was a great game. Richmond brought it. They were just running us all over the place. The best part of this win for me, other than Petty being a genuine forward, is that we ran them off their feet in the last. Music to @binman ears. We look to be hitting peak fitness at the right time.
  23. I’m drenched. Worth it. Glorious afternoon!
