  1. This thread speaks to the emotional stability of Melbourne supporters
  2. His manager
  3. [censored] off Tom Morris, we have WCW ❤️
  4. Melbourne’s receptionist deserves a pay rise, what with all the calls they have to screen from Tom Morris
  5. I find it interesting that Morris has consistently hid behind the 'but it's unlikely' in regards to him requesting a trade or a trade being done, and now he's saying the club is trying to bring the parties together but there is still work there to be done. He has either backed off on instructions, or he's been told that a deal will not get done so stop burning Trac's bridges with the club
  6. Why Hawthorn? Hawthorn we could do a deal with, but isn't their first pick going to Barrass? I wouldn't actually want their future 1st as I reckon they'll do very well next year with Trac in their team. As for Collingwood, they have nothing we would take that they would be willing to trade. Quaynor maybe, but they would have to find 2 first rounders to go with that, which seems impossible given they don't even have one
  7. Most of the big clubs Trac would be interested in, would have to give up a star player to make room in their cap for him. How do you imagine Carlton fit in his $5mil salary? Collingwood? They have to trade out to make space. This is far more complicated than just satisfying us in a trade, you also need to take on a massive massive contract.
  8. None of those players net you a top 10 pick. If you believe Morris is getting his info from people in the know, he has said repeatedly 2 top 10 picks + a player, or 3 top 10 picks. That is obviously what that rat was told by Trac's management, as told to him by Tim Lamb.
  9. Gross, I don't want any of those players. I'll take Merrett tho 😁
  10. I've been told we are in extension talks with him now Please put up or shut up with your 11 posts, coming in like a steam train out of nowhere
  11. Also home crowds are irrelevant to his social media exposure. Going to a club with 100,000 members is what increases his exposure. Look how much air time a club like Collingwood gets Monday-Friday. This is the exposure we are talking about. Nick Daicos has over 250,000 followers, without trying to be a social media star, that's the power of a club like Collingwood.
  12. It's possible there are two different camps feeding info to Morris... Trac's family who are all in on burning the club, and Trac's manager who is trying to appease the situation while also preserving his brand, knowing full well the chances of him getting traded are low. The Morris report yesterday reeked of 'damage control' around a very fixable situation IMO. Perhaps that's his manager's doing.
  13. That's a very different scenario. Clarry never wanted out, nor did he ever go to the media to trash the club. His actions were damaging to our brand, but it was about him not about the club. If Trac wants out so badly that he is letting people leak his discontent, that's a pretty big bridge to have to rebuild with the club and especially teammates.
  14. He will fit right in then
  15. In 2020 Jack had the choice to go to an actual good club in Geelong, after we just finished bottom 4, and then went on to miss finals again. He chose to stay. Why then, would he walk out of his legacy club to go to North Melbourne? Make it make sense
  16. One problem... Trac won't go to Richmond to collect wooden spoons. He obviously wants success, he's not leaving for money.
  17. I mean that wouldn't be a terrible deal, except you firstly need to convince McKay to leave since he's in contract, plus there's a risk that with Trac added in, Carlton's 2025 first pick will be 18
  18. 100% And we are clearly still trying to get a flag with our current list, so we need a first rounder this year (definitely inside the top 10), AND a ready made quality player who will fill a need either in the midfield or up forward. If for example he wants to go to Carlton, then what a trade should look like is one of McKay/Curnow/Walsh (anyway Carlton will need to move one of them on to make space to take on Trac's contract, unless they're back to handing out paper bags!), plus a first round pick. The reality is that any of the big VIC clubs will either struggle for cap space or for currency, unless we are talking Richmond, and somehow I can't see Trac going to a side destined to be in the bottom 4 for years to come. If he wants to go to Essendon, and again, why? Then we may be able to strike a deal with them. But I can't see how he gets to Carlton, let alone Collingwood
  19. But but but we have negative one ruckman on our list beyond Gawn, so how is giving Gawn another 2 years bad for our list health? We are not exactly brimming with ruck talent. Does anyone seriously think that Gawn wouldn't be able to contribute, even as a backup, in 2 seasons? Look at some of the absolute NQRs that have rucked in a premiership after the age of 30. If Gawn drops his output by 50% in 2 years time, he will still be better than half the rucks in the competition. Besides, it's ridiculous to suggest we signed him as a PR move, he didn't decide last night to take George on a bike ride, then call Tim Lamb and say "George finally learnt the words to the song, let me sign a 2 year extension".
  20. I am sure an in-principle deal has already been made with one of the SA teams. The club has known for a while that he's leaving, and they would not do him wrong by playing hardball. They understand why he's leaving, and they will support that move completely.
  21. He probably did. He probably said he needs to take a break, but then spent the entire time actually working on his personal social media content, while also perhaps continuing to complain about the standards and behaviors inside the club. Maybe players didn’t like that. There is definitely more to this than just Trac going to Noosa and the players being annoyed that they weren’t allowed to go on holidays too. Compare and contrast with Langdon going to his sister’s wedding. Not sure there would be much angst there. Either way, good people management would see this tension rising and put an immediate stop to it via correct mediation process. Not let it fester and boil over.
  22. Well I don’t know because maybe she hasn’t started. We poached her from the Pies, so perhaps she has a contractual obligation to fulfill there until the end of the season. Either way, the club has for years, thru poor mismanagement of brand communication, allowed the media to drive this narrative around our club. We should be controlling what goes out and what is said about us in the media. Not the other way around. I’ve been a brand and product manager for over 15 years and I can tell you categorically, that making a product look good, is far more important than the product itself actually being good. Perception is everything.
  23. Didn’t we bring Pettyfor on board? Has she not started yet? Our comms are deplorable. Have been for years.
  24. Guess they all know Pies fluked a flag they didn’t really deserve. Hence it’s little wonder they are where they are.
