Run home to Finals - 2018
Probably. But to be 2 down on rotation playing away from home is a big ask. Port are shaky. In fact only Richmond and GWS really strike me as threats for the flag. Especially now that West Coast have lost their ruckman. If GWS get their list healthy going into finals, I reckon they’ll give it a shake. They scare me. The talent on their list is sickening. I hate them and I hate the AFL for creating them.

One thing is certain, this year we won’t miss finals due to %

To be fair Port lost Grey and Ryder early. If we lost Gawn and Oliver early in a game we would lose too.

Angus Brayshaw
His manager is probably waiting for him to crack 40 touches so he can raise the price a bit more. Clever by him to wait to be honest. He's increased his contract a lot since the start of the year when he couldn't get a game.

Run home to Finals - 2018
Anyone know when Round 23 fixture is likely to be released? Melbourne v GWS, Sydney v Hawthorn the only 2 games between potential finalists. We are coming off a Sunday game in Perth so you'd think we are unlikely to play earlier than Saturday night. GWS play Saturday the week prior. So I'm thinking either Saturday night or 1:10 Sunday? I reckon Sydney Hawthorn will get the Friday night or Port Essendon.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
He's in the side for leadership, yet nobody in the side gives away more goal-costing silly frees. Nobody. We talk about Gawn missing his shot in Round 1, how about Lewis giving away a stupid 50 meter penalty which gifted Geelong a goal? Once he gets his 300th, it's time to stop gifting him games due to reputation.

Need to sign him up

Run home to Finals - 2018
We beat West Coast in Perth last year and I expect we will need to do the same this year to make finals. Either that or we need to beat Geelong in Geelong. Both are going to be hard tasks, especially when the umpiring inevitably goes their way.

Goodwin Presser (28/6)
If he somehow manages to get us to beat a good side, I would agree with him. But this is not a bump along the way, more like a bump out of the finals.

Go and get Clarkson

Trengove to Debut for Port
Kind of sad that his good mate Watts won't get to play with him. Brought it on himself I suppose.

Trengove to Debut for Port
Hope he has a great game and a good career with Port. Really deserves it!

Run home to Finals - 2018
Gawn's miss in round 1, could literally be the most costly kick in the comp this year. It's 2017 all over again.

Run home to Finals - 2018
If we don’t play finals this year, it is an enormous failure. That’s two seasons we have wasted in crucial development of getting finals experience. Barring anymore disasterous injuries, if we don’t make the 8 again, questions will need to be asked. Coaching staff, leadership team etc will need to be reviewed. Simply not acceptable.

Darwin game dumped
About time. We needed it then when we were in major debt and playing like crap anyway. Now it is impacting our ability to succeed on the field, which is priority #1. Time to go.

New CEO - Gary Pert
Roos like Jackson didn’t leave. He effectively retired, which is very different. I don’t think Melbourne would let another CEO meddle in the footy department. The problem at Collingwood is that everyone felt entitled to get involved in the footy department because their president did. How can a president except the CEO not to get involved when he is so deeply and destructively involved, I don’t know. We have a very different set up and a very different structure. I have no doubt when given the job, Pert was told his KPIs revolve around revenue, membership, sponsorship and finding a permanent united home base.

Farewell Dean Kent
About to have a kid. Understandably wants some stability for future. If he wants to stay and get a good deal he has 11 games to prove he’s worth it. Otherwise I think we should facilitate a trade.

New CEO - Gary Pert
Whenever someone in a senior position leaves any job, there is always some bad blood somewhere. Otherwise why leave? Anyone who has ever left a job usually feels some animosity towards their former employer and vice versa. I am very comfortable with this appointment and I trust both our board and the AFL. If Pert did a lot wrong they wouldn’t endorse his appointment. We have come too far and they don’t want us to become a basket case again! Trust me, they have enough issues with the likes of GC. Now let’s build a home base, get a better fixture and get rid of the NT deal.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
I am far from his biggest fan but he wasn’t even close to our worst today. Our midfield sucked hardcore today. 18 clearances down. Nothing the backline could do, including Lewis. He was ok under enormous pressure. The loss today comes down to the midfield group who couldn’t get it and couldn’t use it. How TMac kicked 6 is amazing to me.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
Good opportunity to learn from the best ruck in the competition. One day we will need to replace Gawn.

Demons on Masterchef (16/5/18)
I don’t care for all you wet blankets. I love Masterchef and I love Melbourne. I can’t wait to watch it tonight to the subtle background groans of my boyfriend who thinks everything I watch on tv is garbage.

I am so so happy for him. He is seriously good and just needs some continuity. Well done Gussy!!

Time to show Oscar some respect!
Talk about twisting my words. He is very calm and uses the ball well. He has beaten every opponent so far (take away Brown’s dodgy frees and he had 1 kicked on him), and has been our most consistent performer this year. Lets appreciate his improvement and not compare him to players that don’t need comparison
