Dom Tyson
Amen. Slow bodied and slow minded. He can get the ball and he can use the balls. He is just a slow and often dumb decision maker.

Angus Brayshaw
I am so so happy for him. He is seriously good and just needs some continuity. Well done Gussy!!

He is an inside mid. He can get the ball fine, in fact he is some what of a ball magnet. But unless he is in tight contests getting clearances, his disposal is too much of a liability. For me he is better than Harmes as an inside mid because we know he can get heaps of clearances. I have no idea what Harmes can do as an inside mid, as I am yet to see him do much. An inside mid of Brayshaw, Oliver, Viney and Tyson is pretty damn good, and allows our better ball users in Trac and Salem to play more outside roles where they can hit up forward targets.

Time to show Oscar some respect!
Talk about twisting my words. He is very calm and uses the ball well. He has beaten every opponent so far (take away Brown’s dodgy frees and he had 1 kicked on him), and has been our most consistent performer this year. Lets appreciate his improvement and not compare him to players that don’t need comparison

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
Great debut. Did not look out of place one bit.

Has been fantastic. Never panics. Good with ball in hand. Super consistent. Never in doubt. Even was he was fresh and everyone called him a spud because they are impatient, he showed some good signs of being calm under pressure and a good reader of the player. Will be a solid FB for years to come! Need to sign up him and Tommy stat.

Need to play as an inside mid. We were getting destroyed in clearances last night. Why oh why was Gus not in there?

Injury List - Season 2018
Why don’t we just run over our players with steam rollers. Replacement training for that camp. See who survives!

What worries me is that Goodwin and the other coaches don't think they are communicating down to the bench well enough. Why is this a concept we are struggling with? Are the players to blame? Do our coaches have a communication problem? Do they want Macca on the bench to help with tactical changes on the ground during quarters? Anyway if McCartney is in charge of both player and coach development, how can he develop coaches if he is not in the box on game day assessing what is going on, which is the most important part of any coaches' job.- Time to show Oscar some respect!
As some of us said last year, key defenders take a long time to mature and Oscar has certainly come on quicker than I expected. His calmness has really stood out this year while the rest of our backline has been [censored] their pants and running in circles. A real improver this year, in what I feel has been a disappointing start to the year for many players who seem to have stalled or regressed.- 2018 Membership Thread
I have the same membership but 17 games and guaranteed finals tickets. $600 odd bucks this year. Still worth it.- Ollie Wines
- Injury List - Season 2018
Shortest injury list in the history of the MFC. Pity 2 of our top 10 players are on it!- The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan
Nobody can ever really understand the mental burden that Jesse was carrying last year. Just waiting for the moment your father passes, then dealing with the reality of it, then getting cancer. Jesus if that doesn’t break you, nothing will. Had he said “forget footy” I would have understood. Hell if he said “I need to go back to Perth” I would not have begrudged him. But credit to his resilience and maturity, that he has come through the worst a human can go through, and is now better for it. I hope we throw a cheeky 5 year deal in front of him, with a nice number of zeros on it, so we can seal the deal. Trac, Oliver, Gawn and Viney are secured, he remains the last piece (and TMac/Omac but I assume that’s a formality).- Stats-file 2018
We clean up the clangers and our inefficiency going forward and we will easily play finals. We don’t and it’ll be touch and go.- 2018 Membership Thread
If we win today I reckon 45,000 is in the bag. Lose and the microwaves will be out in force.- Gaming - we are out!
Exactly. PJ has done nothing but improved our club financially! He isn't stupid enough to give up this type of revenue without knowing he can replace it long term. This is not 10 years ago, this club is actually run by people who know what they are doing now.- Gaming - we are out!
Jackson is a very smart operator as we know. I am 100% sure that he already has some revenue supplements lined up to replace pokies. There will be more sponsorship opportunities as a result, from “socially responsible” companies who wouldn’t sponsor clubs at the moment due to their involvement in gambling. Good on the club.- The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan

Driving to work this morning I saw a massive ad for the Tigers who are aiming for 90,000 members this year. I thought to myself "not even with 8 flags in a row will we ever get to these numbers". If we start the season off well I predict we will push 47,000. But lose 2 of the first 4 games, and we'll be pushing to get to 42,000 again. - Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
