Contenders & Pretenders
He who stays fittest wins. A fit Melbourne wins the 2022 flag. A fit Melbourne could win the 2023 flag.

PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Smith was playing a decoy role. All he needs to do is keep Moore away from the contest as much as possible to stop him from intercepting the ball. Being that he spent many seasons in defense, I would hope he could do that to some degree. While he didn’t impact the scoreboard, Weitering also didn’t have a dominant game so it was a win.

CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
Well in terms of how he’s been kicking them, it was low percentage and he had Chin free in the square. As I said I have no issues with him going for it because he needed it for his confidence. He’s been so off with his goal kicking these last 3 weeks. I also have no issues with Kosi going for those low percentage pocket kicks either. You just don’t want players doing it if they have a teammate standing alone in the goal square.

Me too, BUT Fritta needed that goal. His goal kicking has gone off the rails and it has to be mental now. Kicking that low percentage one was good for his confidence and he was better all around after that shot went in.

The Run Home
Again results have gone our way this week with Dogs and Adelaide losing. I think if we beat the Saints we will go a long way to securing a top 4 spot. Dogs and Saints have a very easy run home, but if we can get big wins against North and Hawks again we can ensure they can’t catch us on percentage. If you finish top 4 anything can happen. Finish 4th and we most likely play Pies in week one at the G. Finish 3rd and we probably end up in an away final in Brisbane or Adelaide. Finish 2nd, and we are laughing.

That good hey? 😂 The standard of umpiring is declining at the same rate as the cost of living is increasing.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Carlton
But according to you Pies have only had one ugly game. Why is it that other teams are allowed to win ugly and we aren’t? I am not suggesting our current form will win us a flag. But if you think the Pies are a magical unicorn team that is miles ahead of us, you’re simply wrong. We are ahead of where Geelong was this time last year.

I always said they were an important part of the competition and I have no desire to shut them down and steal all their best players- NON-MFC: Rd 12 2023
My biggest gripe is that you have an umpire standing 1m from a contest calling play on, and then some jerk from 150m away interjects and calls for a free. Where did you come from sir and why do you have laser beams for eyes?- NON-MFC: Rd 12 2023
He’s back on anyway.- NON-MFC: Rd 12 2023
It looked like the back of the thigh is what he was holding. Who knows. No Johnson helps enormously.- NON-MFC: Rd 12 2023
Johnson with a bad corky. Will probably be ok with a long break.- POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Carlton

Pies will win this by 50+ now- NON-MFC: Rd 12 2023
They’ll 100% run out of legs. But this is very impressive from them and very poor from Pies.- NON-MFC: Rd 12 2023
And people think Demonland is bad A laughing stock… Jesus Christ they’re top of the ladder.- NON-MFC: Rd 12 2023
Getting smashed in clearances.- NON-MFC: Rd 12 2023
I would prefer if the Pies kept this level of slop to next week.- POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Carlton

And that is all that really matters Now I need West Coast to injure Moore, Daicos x 2 and Cox. Nothing serious. A light twisted ankle, a hammy strain or broken thumb. Just enough to rule them out for a week.
