  1. Massive call. It'll be nice to see him find a permanent spot in the side and consistently deliver a couple of goals each week, first.
  2. In relation to that discussion about the best midfielders, if we had a Robbie Flower right now our side would be all set. Such a champion. Kudos to whoever put together this video - sensational viewing.
  3. Agreed. Weird that they don't state injury as the reason for dropping Salem, despite looking very sore at one stage last week. Surely he wasn't dropped on form?
  4. This time of the year is exactly where Lewis will need to show his experience and project that on the younger lads. He was great on the weekend and I'm looking forward a massive last few games from him. We just need Jones and Vince to show similar leadership, along with Viney, and push the rest of them to lift. We have to win the last 3 and if we don't, they need to be kicking themselves.
  5. Are we going to do this every year for the rest of his career? He's a genuine star so there'll always be some kind of BS conjecture in the media towards the end of a season. We just have to get over it and not subscribe to the crap that these journos offer up.
  6. Much rather retain Hogan if the option ended up being either he or Lever. Players of Hogan's ilk are far more difficult to find than good third tall defenders.
  7. Who is McFarlane?
  8. Great insight rpfc, thanks for the rundown. I was there on Saturday and it was exactly as you say. So disappointing that the coaches box was so slow to react. And after that first quarter GWS locked us down on that side of the ground so well and we had no answers. Incredibly frustrating.
  9. Mumford - a tip rat
  10. Watts needs to stay forward for the rest of his career and Smith wouldn't fill the need - he's not big enough.
  11. If that eventuated, we'd have another gap to fill on the list in terms of a key back.
  12. Petracca. Doesn't get the ball as much as Oliver, but the things he does with it have us and the media frothing. No doubt the umpires see this too as his touches are more visible than Oliver's as they're often out of congestion. He's just a beast.
  13. I don't think so, he was often exposed by big forwards. We probably haven't paid enough attention to this need over the last few years, because we've been too busy building a midfield from scratch.
  14. Easily the worst performance of the year. We'll bounce back and win next week, but we'll rue that loss.
  15. I'm heading up there with the old man, and we've virtually gone in blind and booked seats in the lower bay, between the flank and pocket. Managed to score an airbnb only a few hundred metres from the ground, and apparently next to a pub. So we're all set. Can't really give any advice on where to sit though!
  16. I share your optimism GNF. At the very worst, we drop one (to GWS). Bring it on!
  17. Good player, but I'll never forgive him for belting Watts in the back of the head while he was face down on the ground. His staging, sniping and 'philosophical' brilliance... the media froth over him.
  18. This bloke should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.
  19. There was no duck from Jetta. I think it was more a case of height disparity between he and Dixon.
  20. Not a good turnout at all, but it did feel like more than that number. I was estimating 35,000 going by the noise. We definitely create a better atmosphere than we used to, but we need more there.
  21. Doesn't Lloyd just look so uncomfortable and awkward on camera? It almost makes me uncomfortable watching him speak.
  22. Saw Clarrie limping pretty heavily after the game. Haven't heard anything about an injury concern so assume it was just a cramp. Anyone able to confirm?
  23. So glad to see his exceptional VFL form last year has translated. It's a luxury we now have, allowing players to tear it up in the seconds for a long period of time before promoting them. Our depth is great, but ANB is now much more than depth.
  24. Glad to hear this. He started the season really well and I was disappointed that his form dropped off a little. At his age he's probably still building the tank and strength he needs to compete at the top level for an entire season, but I think he'll be an important player in the future.
  25. Technically a different millennium, but I did hear he dribbled Harold's head through two trees at an unbelievable acute angle. Chief was not happy.
