  1. Are you saying she prefers roast alpaca to roast chicken?
  2. True enough. I guess we can dream for the first 10 minutes or so ...
  3. Agreed OD. No reason to wear it again, as far as I can see. Let that jumper be forgotten along with the game ...
  4. Only one of them would be any good in the wet, and that one can't kick ...
  5. Assuming the game is worth watching, it depends on what you want to see most. Yesterday I went with a group of people and we went in Gate 5. As it was raining when we got there, we couldn't find seats under cover on the ground level, so we went up to level 2A (just in front of all the corporate superboxes). This gave quite a good view of the ground, although it was a little exposed when it started raining later. Unfortunately we got to see Geelong's second quarter rampage up close ... Otherwise, ground level in the Northern stand is one spot I like, as you can hear the players calling to each other when the play is nearby, or the top level for a 'coaches' view of the game (and plenty of room to move around and choose a particular spot).

  7. Nice story, BBO. Much better than the rubbish I sat through at the MCG ...
  8. Sounds good. A late Saturday afternoon game is not bad ... I will be there.
  9. And if you want to talk [censored], see jazza
  10. I believe us city slickers are paying less for milk then we did 10 years ago too, so I am not sure that the simplistic conclusions in the article are valid (knock me down for lack of surprise ).
  11. I see the Murdoch press is taking its news from old discussions in this thread again ... Why is food so expensive in Australia?
  12. To each his own, but I generally prefer my food not to be spread all over me ...
  13. Do they record who wins the chundering competition that takes place shortly afterwards?
  14. Is that a bit like having one parent supporting Melbourne and the other supporting a certain black-and-white team? Or is that too unthinkable?
  15. Cold spaghetti? Is that one of the Wiggles in retirement or something?
  16. This buzzard will have a few kids (well, teenagers) in tow at the MCG this week, including a visitor from Dili. Details are a bit unclear as yet (as tickets for them have been arranged by someone else), but I will be there.
  17. Is a cold buzzard like cold turkey?
  18. Ok, but as far as I am concerned, there is no "maybe" about it!
  19. Great story! Any more tales like this?
  20. Thanks. Sounds like even late spring would be chilly there ...
  21. Thanks. Given it is the 2nd largest country in the world, I was hoping for something more geographically specific (although I suspect very cold parts of Canada are quite common).
  22. Remind me not to visit that part of Canada!
  23. Speak for yourself, but I don't touch the hard stuff, and I haven't yet got sozzled on cappuccinos ...
  24. Now that is cold. I spent about five weeks in Pennsylvania in January and February not long after that. but I think Chicago takes the cake for cold winters. I presume you had to dig the car out of the snow in the first place ...
