  3. Thanks. Sounds like even late spring would be chilly there ...
  4. Thanks. Given it is the 2nd largest country in the world, I was hoping for something more geographically specific (although I suspect very cold parts of Canada are quite common).

  7. Now that is cold. I spent about five weeks in Pennsylvania in January and February not long after that. but I think Chicago takes the cake for cold winters. I presume you had to dig the car out of the snow in the first place ...
  8. Keep it up, jazza. Didn't know you had bald knees, but I guess whatever floats your boat ...
  9. Melbourne doesn't have a winter -- just a long autumn called footy season ...
  10. The Gotterdammerung (ie worst-case) scenario for Essendon is that a large chunk of their players get banned for two years. Then any officials and coaches still at the club who were there during the drug-taking period (2011-12) get the boot, (presumably at the insistence of the AFL), they have to find some VFL or new draftee players (or whatever Gill has in his pocket for this), and the AFL gets to say we cleaned out all the bad guys. The AFL is simply not going to kick them out; whatever happens in the courts or with ASADA, the AFL will clean Essendon out (as above), and then say look at the new squeaky-clean Bombers. Then they do a GWS for about 5 years as they slowly rebuild ...
  11. OK, but you might want to wash the cup out with that soap while you are at it ...
  12. Depending on the IT set up, it could be that the administrator has locked the browser or some stupid thing like that. Do you have admin rights?
  13. What is that yellow stuff I can see, DC?
  14. Amen to that, OD. Not much fun to live through, I gather ... I don't think you were alone thinking about the next flag.

  17. A friend of mine once, when told to stay off caffeine, went from tea and coffee to Coke ...
  18. I have managed to avoid Windows 8 thus far, and hope to keep it that way for as long as possible. Eventually I will have to I guess ... When in doubt, though, reboot, restart, update and clean out your cookies ...
  19. 1968 eh, DF? A very good year, apart from the Tet offensive ...
  20. 11 if you keep going all the way back .. (or even more if you believe Mike Fitzpatrick ... ) Say hello to Tom Wills when you see him
  21. You firstborn for a curry? Didn't know you were into Indian food ... Hope it goes well with a soy moccachino ...
  22. So you are looking forward to January 1, 1965?
  23. He said Chip had one very good skill, which is judging the flight of the ball in the air and getting to the right spot to mark or spoil. However, he said he was an awful decision-maker and an awful kick of the footy, with plenty of evidence from Sunday's game on offer. I thought he was balanced, in that he said the elite-level skill that Chip has is worth something, but probably not the figures being talked about in the media, and that anyone wanting him would need to "be aware" of his limitations.
  24. All in good fun, OD. I will say that the current design is growing on me, and there a lot of worse ones out there. However, the predominant white does tend to stick in my (magpie-hating) craw ...
