Grundy did really well today and will only get better. Well done.

True but having Tom and Brown in the forward line together also helps his form and type of opponent he gets. I would have persisted longer with T and B but time will tell.

Let’s not forget Tom is coming back from injury last yr and will take him a bit to get going. He and Brown do work well together as he normally takes the number 1 defender and Brown gets the second stringer. I am worried that now he is out Brown will get the best defender and JVR will get the second stringer. It’s the kids first senior game and we can’t expect too much from him. It’s all good and well talking about his performance in the seconds but let’s hope it t transpires into the seniors for all our sakes.

Good question. Maybe Hibbo JJ or Dunstan. All did well in the twos. Would like to see JVR in to see what he can do and give him a bit of time to settle in. Could be the sub maybe.

It was also a hot and humid night too which wouldn’t have helped.

The umpiring was [censored] house from what I saw at the ground. Not sure what the free kick count was but it felt like bris 100 Melb 5.

Was at the game and it was horrendous. Seemed to be kicking to the opposition or to 2 v 1 all night. Very disappointing performance tonight and losing max is no excuse.

I bet my left nut buddy walks free and Kozzie cops 2-3 just because they will make an example out of a Melbourne player again 🤮

Really liked the improvements with ANB’s skills over the summer and hopefully it continues for the rest of the season. Thank god we are not just bombing it out from the kick ins to Max anymore it was doing my head in. It’s good to have different strategies and it seemed to work What is going on with Fritsch why hasn’t he played preseason???

IMO if he wanted to stay he would have signed by now. Time will tell. Hopefully he has a good season and keeps his trade value up so that we can hopefully get a good deal for him. It’s annoying as I thought our good players would want to stay (I know some have already extended) given the position we are in now.
