geez trading Scott Thompson to robbo a few months back could end up being the move of the season if he gets suspended. Anyone see the incident?

We recruited a coach - not a magician. He inherited a woefully unskilled, inexperienced and unfit list. There's probably 15+ players who aren't up to standard and need to go - it will be cleaned out but it can't be done in one year! It's pretty clear that some players just won't play for him - they'll go. Others are just woefully out of form - but the players that are running around now are giving their all for him - some just aren't AFL players but that's not his fault - he didn't recruit them but he's stuck with them for now. Further, his predecessors discarded any experienced players that we had way too early - it's not just coaches who teach players - the senior players need to teach them as well - of which we have next to none. Let's see how we're looking when his contracts up - rediculous saying that we should look at sacking him after 1 1/2 seasons because we were better last year - I don't care how many games we won against the lower teams, we lost by 31 GOALS 1 year ago this weekend...

What a pity we can't extend the trade deadline so we can abuse eachother some more I didn't veto the trade (not sure if I would have - it had already been vetoed by the time I read the email about the trade going though). I'd suggest that the reason for veto'ing would be to stop people from colluding (e.g. when one person can't win they unload their best players to their mates). Just because one person is going to have a stronger team than you isn't a reason. I think this is a bit of an unfair comparison - given that of the DD would have had to drop 5 players from his starting lineup unless if he's found a way to play with 20 on the field. This is the downfall of the "keeper" system though - some people might think of this as colluding (even if they don't know eachother) given one has basically said to the other "I'll give up this year, and in return you give me the best player in the league for next year" however, IMO that's just both guys playing smart and within the rules which have been set in jelly (and modified) throughout the year. Time for some chill pills all or else I'm taking my bat and going home!

Just so we're clear - According to my mum I'm robbo24's brother, and both herself and my dad deny having anything to do with D/L's conception. Copped the same crap last year with the Ryder / Gray trade (yes - with my brother - mysomething that people STILL bring up this year despite Gray having a much better year than Ryder in the end). The Veto's should be used to stop collusion/ obvious tanking - while I did raise my eyebrows when this trade went through, Thomas is getting by this year on his reputation from last year - has been nowhere near as good. $cully, as much as I hate the [censored], has a lot of upside and can play. If he had been "stolen" from any other club we wouldn't have this hysteria
