While having the training reports all reporting wonderful times when they must have been some doubts somewhere, is not good. It aint their fault. Apart from causing demonland hopes to fail dramatically ! Any fault lies in the inability of the Football Department and the Coaching staff to understand or take into account the extent of the problems caused by the Pre season medical issues and the interrupted preseason physical fitness regime. In my view, the coaches and FD should have known this would cause problems (because it was their job) and they did Bugger All to fix or mitigate it. In other words they failed dismally, any other corporate world they might well have been looking for new work. Some have paid the price, but no admission of corporate responsibility has been forth coming. If this was Japan there would be blood and sharp knives all over the place. However I do look forward to 2020, when you are in the bottom of a bloody big hole you can only look up, and I do think we might go that way. I actually read with pleasure the various training reports each with a different perspective and this year they should all be congratulated. They cannot be all on the corporate payroll surely. They all paint a picture of general optimism but also highlight good and bad points of various players. 2019 was a [censored] of a year, and the administration of the club did not deliver what was needed. 2020 needs to start with a loud BANG ! Just my view Go Dees !!

Lets guess, 20,000 crowd , 15,000 members, perhaps 5,000 paying people missed revenue, $20 bucks a head, $100,000 cost. possibly less if youngsters come with dad. Potential young members of the club later in life, I know I started early. Good advertising on the TV from having good exposure, for 3 hours or so. Worth having a chat to the AFL, I would think worth trying at least once to see what the real figures become. Go Dees !! at least its outside of the square and something different.

And perhaps he should have been, not sure he would have had a position in any other club back then.

I think that "Fruity Lexia" in the cask is wonderful, and at a good price, plenty of room indeed to take it up to Thredbo, but where are the ski racks. Correct sort of car though ! Go Dees !! bring on 2020 competition,

Pity we have to wake up !! i can see an even first half of the season win the first and another 5, but in the second half lose the first 4 and win the majority of the rest and we finish somewhere 7-10 but with the form to win it if we get to September. but an exciting year worth watching and no blowout losses, because the backs May, Salem, Lever and Harmes work too well for other teams to exploit. GoDees!!

Happy to see the natural talent of both Bennell and Pickett take 6 months to come through and cause mayhem in the last half of 2020

I do like the taste of AVB being outstanding, almost as much as my anticipation of Pickett and Bennell causing havoc to opposition defenders Go Dees

The last few sessions and the varying reports have given those that cannot get there a great insight into the abilities of recruits and how our senior players are travelling. You now have a high ceiling to aspire to and I for one think it’s great. I think if you see a potato, I might see a tomato. All in the eye and position of view of the observer. Great stuff, what a fine balance in your two reports, I think that's great. Yes I am getting a bit excited about 2020, not only football but private stuff as well. 2019 was a [censored] year in so many ways. We might have been ahead of ourselves in 2018, but 2020 should have severe competetion for senior spots, I am getting positive. We did play well last part of 2018 thgough. So time will tell. But we have read other years training 16,17, 18 and 19 and they suggested so much and we deliverred so little. I prefer to be surprised at how well we do rather than disappointed at how little we did. Anyway thanks for the reports and the balance. I guess its not easy cheers Go Dees!!

Quite possibly, a bit of High Visibility Vests running around never hurts, they might be a little bit hungry or to succeed at Football might mean just a little more. I have hopes, for such a turn around with Bennell, its all up to him, he sure has the ability, maybe with a family and being 27, he might have the hunger again. Go Dees 2020 seems a good year to me..

But did you excel at football in your school and get drafted, probably not. My apologies if you are offended. Yes they are generalisations and every one has subtle influences or sometimes major ones on character and ability. I hope you are happy being a carpenter and that your a good one. Not sure the players need to review such things, that's up to the football department, but the Coaches and FD definitely need to watch and review. Some players might never play to their ability again if their mistakes are highlighted in full company.

AFL or other senior footy, is not, the natural play ground for those with the softer or more gentle disposition. Rather you need more mongrel than pure breed, hungry more than laid back (for personal success, team success, the ball, to beat your opponent), and a hard at it training regime rather than just purely fitness and running. (though both these help). and other things play apart I am sure. I often think a guy who is a plumbers apprentice would be a better choice rather than a champion public school lad whose father runs a successful company and has 6 cars in the garage. Go Dees !!

and so I think, he should, his big body running around our forward line gives opposition defenders very serious doubts as to whether or not they are about to be crunched by a B double truck or not. It causes indecision which in turn creates opportunity for our guys !!
