  1. I like this thread, far more realistic.... Not cooked...yet... and if we are, a few other fancied teams are as well, Been some unexpected results. I had thought we were "underdone" but expected a far better result than Zip 3, Zip 4 and I will book a trip away in September. With the results so far its clear I think that it will be a very interesting season. Percentage very important and we have stuffed that part. There are no easy games for any side. We need our best 22, we have stuff all ability as depth, too many injured or coming back, some just not performing and sadly a couple past their "best by date" but no one good enough to usurp them. Other clubs have similar problems with injuries and depth. Sadly Eagles and Collingwood don't seem as affected, Come on Dees win tonight and we will all feel much better in the morning.
  2. Perhaps but he gets to the ball and usually passes to someone else in a better position. or at least that"s my opinion or what I see. We all see things from a different perspective.
  3. I can only hope that Spargo or Jeffy get picked this week need a bit of speed Go Dees
  4. Perhaps our FD should review the game against WCE last year. They might see what other coaches have seen, we have been worked out. And over. And why have we traded to get a second ruck, who all the watchers said was fantastic and then he cannot get a game in the real stuff. and why sugar coat our practice form when we really are turds, not much point in sugar coating or polishing [censored]. Just too slow and the backs were behind all night. We had enough play just defended very poorly. Who’s up next. Another easy game?
  5. For those interested the wind is getting stronger blowing to the Richmond LHS
  6. For those watching on TV. I am sitting in the western stand there is quite a breeze blowing from behind me. Probably 2 maybe 3 goals. But a definite help
  7. Travis’s playing well also. About time we got in front of this mob!!
  8. Geelong go into their 50 and kick it to some one. How original is that!!
  9. Could the answer to the ruck problem to play Frost in the backup role, is he big enough. He should be fast enough what about smart? Go Dees. I need a win! One of the few matches I see live this year. Go Dees Go
  10. Come on Dees Do it for me, going to watch, think it is a real cliff hanger Dees by 4 points
  11. Thought I would take your advice and see what the bummers think about Friday 's game, They are an underwhelming lot !! to say the least Go Dees !!
  12. Think I would change the bath water for a start !! get something stronger
  13. You hope to get four goals s quarter Bloody not four goals for the whole game !
  14. Report post #49 Posted 1 hour ago We turned it around last season when we started hitting targets moving forward instead of Bombing aimlessly Yes I agree with both of these points hate to see it bombed long or to a contest where we don't have the numbers resulting in an easy mark to a defender or an easy out for the opposition, pissses me off Such a waste of effort not to give it to one of ours. But its easy to talk from my side of the TV. Go Dees
  15. Love this thread, no pithy replies or suggestions. Some of you really watch and see more than I do. Makes me feel better about last week. Still think we will come up short on Saturday but.... So we were at least one man short Viney, with Gawn just out of hospital, and Oliver and Jones had down games. and Hinkley and Port had worked on us for a few weeks to expose our faults. and I know we did not run the game out. Well can we pick fit fellas this week and play 22 on 22. maybe it wont be a complete disaster. (as I felt last Sat night) Again I really like reading this thread and some others Footys BACK !! Go Dees
  16. Four goals a quarter. Very rarely beaten win the game get the structures right good to win early
  17. I can agree easily with your logic. I don’t even think they need a full game. Just a good hit out and no injuries. Might also only run Gawn for 3 quarters. scoreboard is irrelevant getting the game plan smooth and working is important Go Dees
  18. Read all these comments. it was a practice match little else! but some of our lesser players still struggled or showed nothing. our better players showed climpses of ability at times even if overall a bit poor. missed 1st quarter but the second was like we were the witches hats at training Not much better in the 3rd, once the pressure dropped in the last we or some unsighted players got going but tigers were coasting. Look forward to having some first choice players next week. But watching the second was discouraging to say the least. Go Dees. !!!!!!!!
  19. I think on that day, most of the side were stuffed, couple of exceptions, of course, but emotionally and physically the side as a whole had run their race. live and learn, retribution best served with a cool head Go Dees
  20. It’s february. It’s a scratch match, many of the players were scratchy as was a lot of the play. For both sides. A glowing report that highlights the positives. There were areas that could be improved, clearly. It is lovely to hear how well individuals played. For those that could not attend, a balanced report that included areas that require improvement and a more critical report on the lower ranked players would I think, give thosereading a better idea of The level we might attain this year. having said this I am not at all sure I could have done better. The positive s were there but the poor beginning was also still there. How often do we play catch up! Still and all well done I liked reading it, it agreed for the most part with the positives I saw on the ground.
  21. Yes thought simillar, I did not notice Sparrow though but then I did not know his number, Did he play well ? I think there were about 4 players I had little idea who they were. Best I saw was Omacs crunching tackle just in front of me, and then about 5 minutes later vanders cleaned up a magpie in the middle. really hard tough football, really great to see. Nothing soft or nice about it. Go Dees
  22. Lovely walk in the park ! I did really love the tackle by OMac and then a short time later by Vanders in the last quarter. Really hurt their opponents but legally OMacs took a few minutes to get away from the trainers right in front of me great to see.. Hell there were a lot of collingwood supporters there GO DEES on a roll !!
  23. No point in testing oneself, against second raters, at the very least against the better players you get a more realistic idea of potential and perhaps a bit of confidence.
  24. Well I will be there, and a squillion pie supporters, work for Thursday then a lay day. but its the first chance this year to see a game. Only got to 4 regular games last year so I will be one up at the start. But I don't expect much the scores will be irrelevant, just want to watch the younger players and those we recruited. Come on Dees !!
