  1. We don’t need another big bodied inside mid. With Petracca coming into the middle more, taking Green seems like more of the same, and with Oliver, Viney, Trac and Harmes,... do we really need another? pass for me interesting the Sydney appear to also be passing...
  2. I love the Jackson / Pickett double that appears to be looming. Two wild card players with huge upside, x-factor and, to my mind, both have the critical factor for success application magic and hunger. Some have it, some don’t. our failed high picks of years past, lacked it, these two boys appear to have it in spades. Pickett, it’s in the family, but his accelerating into a physical shepherd is IT. With Jackson, he rucks and then relentlessly involves himself as a mid might, while many rucks wouldn’t or couldn’t... Bringing them in just as our group matures means they are the cream. pumped!
  3. Hey Tappy, I’ve no idea what the plan is with Jackson (My suggestion was tongue in cheek), but I do trust our FD to have one, and one they believe will give us a leg up over the 17 other clubs we’re competing with. Jackson appears to be the wildcard this draft, that we are uniquely in a position to take... and take it we must. As they say “Who dares, wins”.
  4. I think the idea is if Jackson is Bombing it into the forward line, Gawn will be there looking to mark it.
  5. Given the discount (20%) GWS get on Green, and the fact they can (trade out & back) and pay for Green with later pick points and use their trade back picks to pick another gem or two from this draft, for them to forgo the discount and pick trading stuff to let Green go to us and take Jackson would require they rate Jackson as not just better than Green, but better than Green plus players they get trading pick 4 out and then back... >That sentence is wy too long, but it's Friday and i'm weary<
  6. I think in the context of our list and the recruits we’ve already grabbed (Langdon, Tomlinson, Bennel) our focus shifted from most complete player in Young at 3 for a potential game breaker who offers us something unique and potentially very hard to counter in Jackson. As others have said we can grab a worse version of Young later in the draft, but not of Jackson.
  7. Still astounded that Harley’s coming to us! He maybe 50:50 chance of regaining his form and his body holding up, but if it does... it’s equivalent to a proven top 3 draft pick, with years of development done, hardened and hungry for success. And would be THE pick of this years draft season. Like wow!
  8. GWS may have to accept that, for the first time in their existence, they’re going to pay a fair price for the players they draft, like every other club (except GCS)...
  9. Mitch was training all last week...
  10. Pretty sure I heard him mentioned as back last week as he’s a 1-4 yr player...
  11. You’re the proof.
  12. So, highly paid professional coaching outfits roll out a question, that you feel as bogus, and it’s contingent on us to disprove your random claims..? #lifestooshort
  13. You’ve offered no facts to support your feelings..!? chirp
  14. Mitch, having come to the AFL later than many (via VFL) is often seen as more experienced (thus having higher expectations) than should be required of him. As a 3rd year player, coming into his fourth, he’s exactly where you’d want him (despite the injury riddled 2019), committed, proven form and building his ability to consistently play And contribute at top level. His sealer in the final vs Geelong, ability to accelerate into contested situations and skill around goal are all big assets if developed property. Expecting a good 2020 From Mr Hannan.
  15. I think the AFL are more interested in making the draft night entertaining for TV than making it fairer for the clubs. So making it a strategic version of “Bingo” makes sense, keeps the punters interested and ratings higher. its all about the $$$$
  16. This is ideal, only area where he’s average is endurance which can be developed under a good fitness program (I.e. “bingo”). that disposal, contested and agility are all elite marks him as serious talent.
  17. It’s also looking at the decisions of 2018 (I.e. not putting players to surgery during season so we can make finals) in the context of what happened in 2017, where we missed finals by the smallest margin in the history of the game... Only the MFC can dish this stuff up. But our time is coming! Go Demons
  18. It’s a great test, pressure, no obvious solution, do they freeze or shoot..? Could/would be critical in the heat of a game...
  19. I think the possibility and push to play our first final in a loooong while would adequately explain this. We rolled the dice and lost, twice... once in Perth and then throughout 2019. Good lessons for a maturing group.
  20. Now that we no longer have the pleasure of yelling “Frosty” as he steams wildly down the ground (before kicking to...?), being able to yell “McAssssssey!” Seems fair compensation. ?
  21. So we’re now at Bennell, Langdon, Tomlinson, pick 3 & pick 8. with Murray being groomed and Martin a long shot... Good haul so far, bring on season 2020!!!
  22. That’s fair enough, and in your profession view how do those drugs compare to the damage and destruction done by alcohol?
  23. Was curious to hear thoughts on how well we’ve traded out when the player was happy or keen to stay? I.e. Frosty, Watts, Clark, Dunn, etc... Did we get a good deal, has the player played better and made it a poor deal..? I’m NOT talking about when a player wants to go to another club I.e. Hogan, Howe for various reasons. Thoughts?
  24. I’m assuming you mean aside from those “drug users” using caffeine, alcohol, tobacco and prescription drugs if all sorts..? ?
