  1. Our board are astute operators, movement on facilities wouldn’t be in there unless they are close to concluding on a doable solution.
  2. To be honest I’m more excited at the prospect of Tomlinson, Langdon and Vandenberg also playing Round 1. Add LJ and Kossie as icing and talented kids learning the game, while the seasoned men provide the mettle and meat required to knock the Eagles off at home.
  3. I think Burgess’s point to the players that, having done “another 35-37km week”, that the team didn’t get to that point ever in their preseason last year, AND that next week they were going 20% higher. This is Key to title, and reason for optimism. To use another phrase from episode two, last year we couldn’t “control the controllable “ (preseason, player prep, season prep, etc...) that’s was “Hell” and flowed through the year. This year, as both episodes have touched on we’re “back”, in control of those elements we can control and optimise. For professional football people we were in Hell in 2019 months before the season started. So we can (and hopefully are) be “back” in the preseason too... love the videos and like the title.
  4. Excited hearing Vanders say “... the sky’s the limit”... re his foot and footy. If our stars align in 2020 and our best 22 are fit and firing we are a top team. Good signs, fingers crossed.
  5. I think that we are in a pretty good spot re-injuries. We appear to be pushing the boys very hard on the track, but being ultra-conservative (and slow to re-introduce them) if they have injuries or niggles. Of the current injury list, only Preuss is clearly out for part of the season (aside from tyhose injured prior to the pre-season in KK, Bennell and Neitschke. My guess all (the TBA) will be back in full training over the next couple of weeks to a month, and if we were in the season proper some of the "injured" players would be working through it to play next week...
  6. goosebumply! #onlyondemonland
  7. I think Jone will have a resurgent year without the “weight” of the captaincy to bear. Have faith.
  8. Jones deserves a send off similar to what the Hawks gave Crawford. I truely hope he gets it.
  9. At one point Goody mentions that our poor 2019 gifted us a "golden ticket" the first part of which was the extra time they had to work on their fitness and game prior to next year... I was wondering what the other elements of the "golden ticket" are, so figured I'd list them. Golden ticket parts Additional Pre-season time to prepare (recover from surgery, etc...), Access to higher draft picks (Jackson, Picket), Improved draw, Hunger driven from humiliation at 2019, at individual and team levels, Distillation of what works from what does not work, across the club, and renewed focus on what works. One of the things Part 1 reminded me is that aside from (or as a result of) our crap onfield performance in 2019, we have been aggressively moving well to take full advantage of the "Golden ticket" with the appointment of Burgess, focused and successful trade and draft, and early pre-season intent and healthy hours at high level being pumped into the team... Jones call out to his team mates to stand up and take on more leadership (interesting to note who the camera identified as he said this i.e. Trac, Brayshaw ... Bring on Part 2... Go Demons.
  10. I liked it, thought it was vulnerable and courageous of Jones to lead with his heart. And of the club to show how they’re responding to the pain of 2019.
  11. It sounds like Freo have tried to put some pressure on Jesse via media scuttlebut to get his social life in order, which would ideally help him handle any mental health Issues. Classic good cop (club), bad cop (media speculation) routine being played out. It’s amateur, disrespectful and self fulfilling, in that if that’s how Freo handle players going through such issues and times, it contributes to making it unlikely Jesse will play footy for them again.
  12. On Frost, and “Frost Ball”, it was fun to watch, when it worked, and a sign of our desperate lack of depth when it didn’t. Prefer Harmes or Smith or even Tomlinson playing the role Frosty played. I will miss yelling “FROOOSTY!!!” Excitedly as he charges chaotically forward...
  13. Have a year off Jesse, get sorted/well... Then come home to the Dees! ps was thinking about how much structure and support Jesse had built in his time at MFC (ages 17-23), and that walking away from that to go to Freo may not have helped him...
  14. Quintessential internet moment.
  15. Hardtack put the muzz on him.
  16. Hearing some of the reports, it sounds like playing Jackson as a deep forward given his height, agility and speed (lead up) and ground ball skills when the ball hits the deck, could be the plan..? He’d make a challenging Match up for oppositions, and would free TMac and Wied to lead up wings etc...
  17. On the Bennell hunched back thing, it reminds me of this bloke...
  18. https://youtu.be/7JCdCLgZrBI
  19. Brutal Josh... another Prelim loss oh dear!... I was at Waverley the day Jimmy... not another loss.
  20. A for Awesome. Trade and draft, the highlights for 2019. Anyone who thinks otherwise should turn up their romance and optimism Dial, and think again. The MFC football department, and now trade and draft team, should be applauded for the way they’ve handled and evolved through this shitty year. Absolute professionals working hard. ????? Makes me proud to support this club. All class. Go Demons. p.s. I wish I knew “shitty” got through the censor earlier in the year... ?
  21. Totally agree, our 2019 trade and draft season has been to opposite to our 2019 season, an outstanding success. - 2-3 x mature Top 22 campaigners in Tomlinson and Langdon (and possibly Bennell) - 1 x top quality tall forward/ruck/mid in Jackson - 1 x top quality livewire small Forward in Pickett - 1 x outside rebound defender in Rivers - 3 x x-factor and game breakers in Bennell, Pickett and Jackson. If we are blessed by the injury gods, we’ve now go the ingredients to win a flag or two, starting 2020. Go Demons
