Rating Our 2019 Draft
A for Awesome. Trade and draft, the highlights for 2019. Anyone who thinks otherwise should turn up their romance and optimism Dial, and think again. The MFC football department, and now trade and draft team, should be applauded for the way they’ve handled and evolved through this shitty year. Absolute professionals working hard. ????? Makes me proud to support this club. All class. Go Demons. p.s. I wish I knew “shitty” got through the censor earlier in the year... ?

Rating Our 2019 Draft
Totally agree, our 2019 trade and draft season has been to opposite to our 2019 season, an outstanding success. - 2-3 x mature Top 22 campaigners in Tomlinson and Langdon (and possibly Bennell) - 1 x top quality tall forward/ruck/mid in Jackson - 1 x top quality livewire small Forward in Pickett - 1 x outside rebound defender in Rivers - 3 x x-factor and game breakers in Bennell, Pickett and Jackson. If we are blessed by the injury gods, we’ve now go the ingredients to win a flag or two, starting 2020. Go Demons

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Yes I did realise that. Hence the “swings and round-abouta” comment.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
The thing about a player with Kozzie speed skill and agility, is that as he builds his engine, he’ll be able to impact in congestion, forward initially, but into the midfield at times to add some x-factor in there... in the way Melky and Jeffy can (could) at times.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Oooooh mama! This kid can mark and kick goals too... who'd a thought?
-
What to do with what is now Pick 32?
Are there options for us to trade up the order overnight?
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Why dwell on the possibility of him returning..? We just recruited three players all from interstate in Langdon, Tomlinson and Bennell... swings and round about's If we're a good club playing good footy he'll stay for the glory and good time that come with success. If he leaves, there will be a couple of awesome Victorian boys keen to come home... Welcome to the mighty Demons Luke Jackson! May the force be with you.

2019 National Draft: Non-MFC Picks
Sounds like blues want Kemp but don’t think he’s a pick 11, looking to trade down...
-
2019 National Draft: Non-MFC Picks
Green Kemp or Pickett for pick 11..?

2019 National Draft: Non-MFC Picks
Those pumping up Green can relax... evidently we weren’t alone in not rating him...

Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)
We don’t need another big bodied inside mid. With Petracca coming into the middle more, taking Green seems like more of the same, and with Oliver, Viney, Trac and Harmes,... do we really need another? pass for me interesting the Sydney appear to also be passing...

Phantom Drafts
I love the Jackson / Pickett double that appears to be looming. Two wild card players with huge upside, x-factor and, to my mind, both have the critical factor for success application magic and hunger. Some have it, some don’t. our failed high picks of years past, lacked it, these two boys appear to have it in spades. Pickett, it’s in the family, but his accelerating into a physical shepherd is IT. With Jackson, he rucks and then relentlessly involves himself as a mid might, while many rucks wouldn’t or couldn’t... Bringing them in just as our group matures means they are the cream. pumped!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Hey Tappy, I’ve no idea what the plan is with Jackson (My suggestion was tongue in cheek), but I do trust our FD to have one, and one they believe will give us a leg up over the 17 other clubs we’re competing with. Jackson appears to be the wildcard this draft, that we are uniquely in a position to take... and take it we must. As they say “Who dares, wins”.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
I think the idea is if Jackson is Bombing it into the forward line, Gawn will be there looking to mark it.

Cody Weightman (Drafted by Western Bulldogs)
Given the discount (20%) GWS get on Green, and the fact they can (trade out & back) and pay for Green with later pick points and use their trade back picks to pick another gem or two from this draft, for them to forgo the discount and pick trading stuff to let Green go to us and take Jackson would require they rate Jackson as not just better than Green, but better than Green plus players they get trading pick 4 out and then back... >That sentence is wy too long, but it's Friday and i'm weary<

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
I think in the context of our list and the recruits we’ve already grabbed (Langdon, Tomlinson, Bennel) our focus shifted from most complete player in Young at 3 for a potential game breaker who offers us something unique and potentially very hard to counter in Jackson. As others have said we can grab a worse version of Young later in the draft, but not of Jackson.
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Still astounded that Harley’s coming to us! He maybe 50:50 chance of regaining his form and his body holding up, but if it does... it’s equivalent to a proven top 3 draft pick, with years of development done, hardened and hungry for success. And would be THE pick of this years draft season. Like wow!

Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)
GWS may have to accept that, for the first time in their existence, they’re going to pay a fair price for the players they draft, like every other club (except GCS)...

2019 Player Reviews: #19 Mitch Hannan
Pretty sure I heard him mentioned as back last week as he’s a 1-4 yr player...

Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
You’re the proof.
