  1. He’s a valuable player simply because he’s versitile, strong, mature and consistent. Having players like that mean you can shift them from role to role as injuries take their toll on various parts of the ground while maintaining team balance and cohesion. One issue (flaw) with several of our mids is they struggle to impact outside the midfield, so limit our flexibility to move them about. Tomlinson will be good for us.
  2. I agree. My thoughts are we were flattered by our final month of footy that lifted us from just scraping into finals (where I’d rate us) to being in the Prelim and over achieving... This year is part as a result of that final month, we got ahead of our selves, believed the hype plus got hit with the challenge of what going deep into September does to you following year, an experience few players and coaches had previously dealt with. My guess for next year is 8-5 but with a favourable draw we could go higher (aka Brisbane). Interesting to see how they recruit, as if we have finals expectations we are topping up with readymade and tactical acquisitions to try to complete the puzzle.
  3. Cause we need him badly. Has Charlie Cameron got a cousin.. Any ideas?
  4. I remember during the season Frosty had a good game and Goodwin was asked to comment on the “Frostball!” Phenomena and shook his head with laughter and said no one knows where it’s gonna end up... they then interviewed Frosty himself and he too laughed and said likewise... To my mind Goodwin and the team took ”Frostball” over no movement, but would prefer skilled, predictable and creative exits from our backline, but with Level, May and Jets out, Frost was our best option. But not preferred, or even desirable.
  5. I like your thinking... let’s do it!
  6. You've a short memory Dub, last year we got pumped by the Weagles out West because they finished higher, the advantage is still well and truely there...
  7. Given it’s officially the crazy season, I’ll put forward that the MFC look for a Croad like return for our prodigal son, Jess “the HULK” Hogan... maybe not this year... or even next year but then bring him home... #2022BringJessHome
  8. Has Donald Trump taken up supporting the Dees...???
  9. Much as I think Jack Watts in probably a nice guy, he's rarely excelled in the hunger for agressive high level consistent performances on an AFL field. Still hasn't at Port, as far as I'm aware. Pass.
  10. Was watching KK's brother play for Geelong last week, and couldn't help but think how things will turn around for us if we can get KK, Vanders and Joel on the ground regularly for us next year... In the hands of the footy Gods, I know, but we are due some good fortune with those three.
  11. Very exciting news if he's indeed on top of his injury and will play a big role in 2020.
  12. I’d take wines for draft pick 3 in a flash... would be top 10 player, add a lot to our mid-field, low risk (as in proven quality) and would grasp the move as opportunity to reinvigorate career. Only downside is how we’d then address the outside run issue and rejig the midfield to accomodate him. Gawn tapping to a midfield group of Clarey Petracca, Wines, Viney, Brayshaw, Harmes etc... would win finals for us.
  13. I heard Goodwin mention the significant and under appreciated impact of having his first two choices for our wings, in Kk and VDB, out. In that it threw out our ability to impose, defend and attack across the middle in 2019. Was a brief comment from him as while back, but it stuck with me because I too believed that this season would have been ok if these two men had played 20+ games apiece.
  14. Adding three wings would depend on the prognosis on KK and VDB... hurt us a lot this year those two being out.
  15. Adem’s kick off the ground goal in the final quarter of the 2000 Qualifying final win over the Blues one of my favourite moments of all time. #bringademhome
  16. So... back into the top 8!!! Boom! ?
  17. And what happened the year after 1950-51..?
  18. I’m optimistic that if we can get a full list on the field early in pre-season and through the year we will roll and build some powerful momentum. We have added Lever and May, Kollorjazne, and will add more this draft, and we’re yet to yield a benefit from these recruits due to injuries to them and others.
  19. Aside from better luck with injuries to our best 22. A fit and in form VDB and Kolodjashnij on the wings would help a lot.
  20. Hopefully Our new fitness gurus has a plan for Trac’s tank and ability to burst run more frequently.
  21. Lots of finger pointing, negative speculation and outright nastiness toward our team from supposed supporters on here... Best example is the old “they’re not working hard enough...” dribble... how the fork would supporters who use this line know? So basically you’re accusing our team and coach of slacking off or giving up, which is [censored] thing to say about our team and coaches. Its obvious to all that it’s not working at the moment, but to lob this kind of drivel at our team when they’re hurting like this makes me ashamed to be a fellow supporter. I believe they’re working there asses off and will continue to, and we, their supporters should be supporting them rather than baying like a bunch of angry old losers for blood, blame and insensitive [censored] talk.
  22. Yep we must be in danger of spending half the soft cap amount that the Weagles, Dawks, Druggies, etc spend... every year.
  23. I think with the coach reshuffle and now this, the club is acting maturely to address the issues that had us unravel this year... encouraging signs and signings.
