  1. Given Tippett can now not be traded today, he may end up in the ND which would increase the chances that Toumpass or Grundy will be there for us should we want them..?
  2. Tippett Likely to enter draft according to AFL chat... with GWS interested.
  3. As they say "You've gotta break eggs to make an Omelette". We wanted Pedersen for our structure, roles and game plan, and Gysberts was languishing...
  4. Says more about Morton than Harrington.
  5. Gysberts played 1 seniors game (9 disposals) and 14 Casey games in 2012.He was unable to break into one of the worst teams going around this year... being picked with an early pick gets you only so far.
  6. Don't like losing high pick players, but Gys played 19 games in 3 years, was spoken of pre-season as a soft trainer with low fitness. He's been evaluated by Neeld, Craig and Misson and they decided to trade him. I'm ok with their decision.
  7. Somehow I think Hulk Hogan would look better in No# 5..?
  8. He won't play for WC unless a plane load of their current players crashes into the Nullabor plain.
  9. Was a poor deal in 2007, now we're just looking to move on.
  10. Recruited Cale in 2007, that's 5 years to work his way into the team. Moving on.
  11. If you are trying to re-build a club based on hard work, commitment to the plan, and hardness in the contest, then you draft OUT those players lacking in these attributes, and draft IN those with these attributed in abundance. OUT: Moloney, Gyberts, Morton (prob?), Cook, etc... IN: Viney, Pick 4 (Wines?), Hogan, Dawes, Pedersen, Byrnes, Rodan. No point holding onto a player who does not fit into the team or culture you are trying to build. Good luck Jordan. Welcome aboard Cam Go Dees.
  12. Could be a great mentor to Barry and some of the others young forwards.
  13. Welcome Hail. The challenge with Cale is that his confidence and form is so brittle. As a result I'm sure some team mates doubt him, as we fans have started to.
  14. Add 1 win to my tally (now at 11) for the introduction of Rodan. Needed some shimmy and pressure at the feet of Clark, Dawes Howe and co...
  15. Neeld has a plan and if Rodan is part of it, I'm all for it. Welcome to the Melbourne Football Club, kick goals and raise the bar and we'll love you for it.
  16. I did enjoy yelling "MORTON!!!" during the GF. He's a canary player for me, if we can turn Cale into a regular AFL player we will be well on the way. Keeper for me.
  17. Looks likely to be a slow motion car crash, with lawyers, possible court case and [censored] off fans. Doubt the AFL can/will be able to come up with a penalty that maintains the integrity of their laws and ensures some of the parties don't go "legal" before 1:30 tomorrow.
  18. Surely if he entered the draft and GWS didn't take him early, the Doggies would...
  19. The AFL will need to rule on this today, so the trades can be completed tomorrow. Can not see how they can allow the Tippett deal to stand (and him go to the Swans) given the deal was outside the rules of the AFL, salary cap etc... So a scenario that may benefit the MFC is a big fine for Adelaide and Tippett goes into the National Draft (i.e. Adelaide get nothing for him and he loses right to determine where he ends up), this would ideally see GWS using one of their first three picks on Tippett... pushing Toumpass or Grundy to be available to us at pick 4...
  20. With the Tippett deal now in limbo, could Tippett fall into the national draft if a trade does not get done before tomorrows deadline? If so, I'd suggest it likely that GWS would pick him up with one of their first three picks in the ND which would give us another young prospect available at our pick 4. Interesting to see what the AFL do about this one, and who's likely to benefit.
