  1. Is there any version of a GWS deal for Clarry that we wouldn’t accept, and therefore have him playing for us next year? Maybe we keep Clarry, hope he’s seen the light and works his butt off to redeem himself at the Dees in 2016 and beyond?
  2. We got 16 more brownlow votes than we’d get from picks 6 & 7 for the first three plus years of their careers… No Humphrey no deal.
  3. Are you the leak? Or maybe we’re closing in on a deal and he’s loath to sabotage it..?
  4. I imagine Bailey has the weekend to make up his mind with Sunday night the deadline. He’d have our offer or best pitch and know he and GC need to publicly shut it down come Monday if GC going to then try do a picks deal with MFC. Fingers crossed.
  5. I was thinking HF: Kozzie, Van Rooyen, Humpfrey FF: Fritsch, Heath, Mihochek
  6. Given GC has been accruing picks through trade outs (i.e. Ainsworth) and MFC stating we want our heads turned, what picks would "turn our heads" without the Humpfrey option? I.e. Would pick 6 + 7 + GC F1 2026 incoming and just Trac going back turn our heads?
  7. Gives GC more points to sweeten a picks deal if Humpfrey not happen, could do 6&7 without risking their academy kids...
  8. And the meeting is in person between Bailey and MFC reps?
  9. The rest of us…
  10. For those proposing that Trac's value is diminished, in the 2025 Browlow voting he polled 16 votes in a return year from a horrific injury. At a new club, with the added incentive to prove himself again, he will be in prime vintage form, and with his conscientious approach to his fitness likely to perform at peak for at least 5 years. By contrast Humphrey polled 2 votes and while an emerging talent, is yet to hit the heights of Trac, if he ever will. In addition, both Trac and Humphrey play mid/forward, so if Trac joins GC with Humphrey still there they will both be competing for the same midfield time, given Rowel and Anderson are locks. A final point Cameron calling Hump an "impetuous" 21 year old is great, as anyone who's had 21 year old kids the last thing you want to do is tell them what to do, or not do, as it will automatically trigger their ODD (Opposition Defiance Disorder) and generate the opposite of your intented result.
  11. Patience grasshopper
  12. Sometimes you've got to burn it down to move forward...
  13. Creates space to bring AMW back into the 23. Easy to move on.
  14. The Dons (currently) refusing to trade Merritt to Hawks, adds credence to our claim that we wont trade Trac unless its clearly beneficial (i.e. Humphrey included). Would be a huge missed opportunity on multiple levels if the Suns messed up this deal for Trac in order to hold onto a player likely to leave anyway in a couple of years, and for less. Plus we're yet to hear from the AFL/Suns marketing department... 😂
  15. The other aspect that warrants scrutiny is this assumption that because GC popped their finals Cherry this year that more finals and a Flag are inevitable and immanent. Taking our journey as a template of a talented list finding it's groove, GC are at our 2018 moment and shouldn't expect silverware for another 3 years (at best)... just when Humphrey's contract will expire and he'll be on the market for real. And replicating our journey would be optimistic given the intense challenge in winning a flag.
  16. I'd add to that, we can offer him quality midfield time that may be harder to get at GC. If Humphrey was planning to return to Victoria/Melbourne in 2028 anyway, the question is "why not do it now, and build a legacy at a foundation club with a coach he knows?"... For him its a "bird in the hand vs two in the bush" conundrum, now with MFC, or to a "better" club in three years. Assuming he can forecast who will be better in 3 years...
  17. I think theres a lot of finger pointing going on in this thread. For various reasons McVee needed to wait and earn his spot as an attacking HBF and wasn't prepared to. For my two bits the the cause of this was AMW's injury that reduced our pool of quality back pockets and meant Judd had to bide his time longer than he was prepared to... All the culture, coaching speculation is akin to astrology unless you have some hard data to support it. BTW Judd's a Leo, who need to feel they are ruling the roost... so it all makes sense. ;)
  18. The GC draft points numbers are starting to point toward a Humphrey trade being the only option if they want Trac, Uwland (#2 - 2517) and Patterson (#4 - 2034) given they have approx 6235 points (including #7 for Flanders) which would leave only 1684 for Trac without Humphrey... Acknowledge these figures are rubbery with discounts, and additional trades (Rosas and Ainsworth) but they only have Pick #7 worth of points for Trac and I haven't included another GC academy player in Addinsall who's predicet pick 24 (785 points)... Another aspect is with Flanders, Rosas, Ainsworth and several delistings at GC, concentrating their picks to only acquire 3-5 players may cause them issues. Humphrey has become key to them having a monumetal trade and draft season that would set them up for years, in Petracca, Uwland (#2), Patterson (#4), JUH and Addinsall coming in, resulting in improvements now (Trac and JUH?) and later (Uwland and Patterson) with the loss of Flanders, Rosas, Ainsworth and Humphrey. With Humphrey and maybe Flanders the only equivalent losses.
  19. With the other exits from Gold Coast in Rosas and Ainsworth going in return for picks, I suspect GC are likely to offer pick 6 & 7 for Trac rather than include Humphrey…
  20. Morris misunderstands where the decision lies, it’s not with GC, but with Humphrey. I recon GC need to be seen and act in support of their player’s decisions, so if Humphrey indicates MFC then GC will facilitate… not block.
