  1. They don't want in. i'm disappointed that two clubs i love can't have an alignment but can understand why its probably not in the best interests of the Victory to join up Looks like most MVFC fans are happy that they haven't joined, going by their website MVFC fans website
  2. Team Melbourne I applaud the board for being innovative enough to get this concept off the ground. I still think it will benefit the other sporting clubs moreso than us, but this is not a criticism. For example, some sort of combined membership might get me to head along to the occasional basketball or netball game, but i can't imagine supporters of any of those other codes not already having exposure in some way to AFL.
  3. I'm not given up on CJ yet. Too skillfull a player to let go Just needs to get more of the pill (and get a game occasionally)
  4. Don't reckon we'll go with 3 talls on the bench, but i agree Holland has to play to nullify Rocca. Maybe Frawley might be sent back to the 2s, although it wouldn't be my preferred option
  5. I tip Melbourne if its a 50-50 game. If we are clearly underdogs, i'm happy to tip against us. That way if we do win, i'm still happy, because although i may have lost the tip, so has everyone else
  6. This player is an integral part of our future. On current playing form he is in our best 22. He should be in the team because he deserves to be there, not just as a replacement player.
  7. I still don't see it being the right decision just because we won. By that logic, Go Chooker was right, in that Miller being injured won us the game
  8. I don't think much would have necessarily changed at this stage of the year. Still too early to tell, especially when you consider quite a few of the top 10 are yet to play. I think Gibbs will be a better player than Petterd, but i think if the draft was held again now, Petterd would go a lot earlier than he did. Great work CAC
  9. So if we keep winning, would that justify leaving Dunn playing at Sandringham? If you look closely, the point Go Chooker was making, was bagging ND, not Miller.
  10. Remember Cousins has a history of drink driving as well
  11. In fairness to Go Chooker - i don't think he actually meant he is glad Miller got injured (despite saying this) He meant to say that its probably ended up more beneficial for the team, that Miller had to miss a week (with a relatively minor injury), as it appeared that the selection committee (ie. Neale Daniher) was reluctant to drop him. I actually agree with what he is saying - its interesting to see how our structure looked without him (although why Dunn was dropped, i'll never understand)
  12. Might want to edit who you are addressing this to
  13. Any talk about bringing Pickett back this week is nonsense
  14. I don't think you'll find many who will argue that McLean is / will ever be as good as Judd. But in my 15 or so years of passionate Dees support, i can't recall a player ever showing as much potential to be a true champion of the club. You don't trade your champions, even if your getting a better player as a result. Trading McLean would have a massive negative impact of the culture of the club, that would negate any benefit obtained by picking up Judd.
  15. Ben Holland is made for players like Anthony Rocca. Bizzell is not a key position defender and would get slaughtered in the one on one positioning. Got to go for the gorilla on gorilla matchup here.
  16. It was poor work by the MMM team. They knew bugger all about him, yet they still gave their opinion based on oudated facts that came to their screen at the time. They commented on his VFL reserves / VFL seniors game ratio from 2006 (roughly 13/11), and the fact that he'd only kicked one bag of 5 in the VFL seniors, and thus he was not necessarily ready to play in the big time G. Lyon at least conceded that he was not ready to offer his opinion until he knew more about the kid
  17. Out of curiousity, has your opinion on Wheatley changed as of yesterday's game?
  18. Did not get beaten in a one on one contest all day. Helped out the other defenders. Saved 2 almost certain goals. Kicking was accurate. Evasive skills were excellent. Best game i've seen him play. B.O.G for me.
  19. Looked to me that Davey did his hammy. still managed to mark and kick it succesfully when he was on his way off
  20. but surely we have more pull than Fremantle
  21. Footy divide widening: Daniher And Daniher fired a shot at the Melbourne Cricket Club for giving Fremantle permission to train on the MCG on Thursday ahead of the Dockers' match against Collingwood on Friday night. "How disappointing is that where Freo will get a run on the MCG when it's supposed to be our home ground and we can't train on it?" Daniher said he puts in regular requests to train at the 'G and he's knocked back every time. "We get on early in the year and we might get on later in the year if the curator thinks the ground is in good enough condition. That's it."
  22. I don't think MCC members should be degraded, or ridiculed for not buying an MFC membership. I understand financially, it is not accessible to some. However, if you are not a paid up member, i don't think you have the right to complain about the club. Like Mickrocks said - seperates the barrackers from the supporters
  23. Think you are right Pantaloons Farmer and Green played together in the forgettable 2000 GF loss From memory we got the draft pick for Green, via trading Troy Longmuir I beleive the pick we got for Farmer, went towards the complicated Bizzel/Grgic trade
  24. Gripping stuff Not such a huge fan of the Ox, post Melbourne (loved him as a player), but have full respect for his open-ness relating to issues like this, and his gambling problems
  25. I'm an Yze Magic fan. He posts to get a reaction, and time and time again, people take the bait My favourite Yze Magic moment was when he convinced most of the BigFooty board that he'd been picked up in the national draft
