The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Deals not done: Daniher, Papley, Martin. Carlton miss out on Oakley and Martin. Only bring in Betts.
-
Aiden Bonar
Bonar going to North
-
Zak Jones
Saints now have all the players who nominated them. Good effort
-
Zak Jones
Officially a Saint now.
-
Jack Martin
Absolutely. That's why we shouldn't trade for GWS future 1st rounder
-
Alex Keath
No, it's Keeff.
-
Tom Papley
Carlton could include a future pick in the Papley deal. I'd rather Weightman at 8 than Papley. Papley would cost too much, both in terms of pick and contract. Desperately clutching at straws to combine goal assist stats and goals kicked to rate him. Fools gold.

Are we plotting a late heist?
Martin (like Keith) can go into the national draft, as opposed to PSD, with terms set for price and years. Any club with a pick willing to meet those terms can take him. Luke Ball did that, Saints got 0.
-
Alex Keath
True, but his terms could be met by a number of clubs in the national draft. Bit of a gamble really.

Yes, but Ball went to Pies in the draft. We are talking about Keith going to the preseason draft. Would've thought the Dogs would do the honourable thing and trade for him.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
- Isaac Smith
Big deal. Off you go to your Richmond forum, Tugger.- Splitting Draft Pick 3
Pick 3 for 6 + Caldwell or O'Halloran NOT 3 for 6 + 2020 1st rounder GWS want pick 3 and Green with late trash picks, then cough the [censored] up! Otherwise it's Green at 6 only. Play hard Dees.- Isaac Smith
So you think Smith will still be just as quick and far nearing 33 years of age? Good for you. Lewis was far from a trash and treasure pick up IMO. I'd be fine for us to have Smith, but only costing very little and for 1 year with tough incentives for 2. I think he's 12 mths off done- Are we plotting a late heist?
Sounds like one of those happy-go-luckies to me, Binny!- Josh Mahoney in the Media
Yes, we won the equivalent of pick 50. Yay!- Josh Mahoney in the Media
GWS first round pick next year may be 25 or even higher after a raft of academy pick are matched- Splitting Draft Pick 3
GWS 1st rounder next year may well be in the late 20s after all the bidding is matched. We should think of the pick number rather than 1st or 2nd round I'd rather 3 for 6 + Caldwell or O'Halloran. If GWS really want 3 and Green they need to give something more than 6 and 2020's pick 25ish- OMac on Overcoming Challenges
Of course it is. What did you expect during the off season, a bombshell announcement? If Oscar can get more strength in his body over summer and be able to hold his own in the contest, I think he might surprise a few next year. Not a star, but has a role to play and needs to step up.- Anyone heard? Tom/Tom
Bad trade call. Number 2 stinks.- Are we plotting a late heist?
Only pick Green with 3 if he's worth pick 3. They may let him pass, with the knowledge that the rank of available draftees moves up a spot. However, if they do match a bid at 3 they'll use up pick 6, which means 8 moves up a spot.- Josh Mahoney in the Media
They won't trade next year's 1st as they'll need it for academy points, plus pick 10 will end up being pick 18 as other clubs match their own bids and GCS have pp no 11.- Anyone heard? Tom/Tom
Yes, must be the season - Isaac Smith
