  1. sorry to pick you up on this but you finish with "I have faith" but question above that he surely must know his intentions. Gary Ablett said he changed his mind over half a dozen times and that was when there was already a firm offer on the table, and he had accomplished footballing glory at the Cats. Taking TS at face value ( and I DO have faith), he hasnt received an offer and has to choose down the track between huge dollars and moving on before providing reasonable service to his original club against staying at club that is 4-5 years advanced on the club that will be courting him and a club that has such a bright future according to the scribes. I suggest that he surely doesnt know his intentions - I believe ( with no insight or knowledge whatsoever) that his preference would be to stay but the question remains at to the size of the gap or the difference in the detail of the two offers.
  2. Ahhh !! Got it !
  3. Your dog licks itself and sniffs other dogs bottoms..... (I'm tipping an illustrious media career awaits for your woofer - he is infinitely qualified)
  4. I'll bite - who is Kevin Bacon.
  5. Very sad news - RIP Sean - you played and lived life like a true demon
  6. I couldnt agree more with the clubs absense from here. Im a full supporter of the separation of powers - church ( us ) and state (mfc) I acknowledge everyone is only wanting the same end result but the levels of passion and in particular the direction of some of the passion from this site leaves me scratching my head in disbelief - I can only imagine what the powers to be at the MFC must think. Edit - well done on this site and its moderators
  7. Agree 100% - ( and i would have added "weapons of GWS, other forces hostile to MFC and the media circus willing to grab at any whisper, rumour and innuendo either to pump up the writers/presenters own tyres or to sell more papers/attract more viewers) Edit - although semi tongue in cheek on AFL 360 on fox Whately and Robbo announced they will have a Scully update every week and call it scullduggery or Tomfoolery. Boring!
  8. I was going to mention his accuracy as well ( and I did hear them mention his inaccuracy it on the replay) but I think these stats can lie. He is not a deadeye like Green used to be - kicking them from anywhere. But i can only remember a couple of times when he hasnt kicked the ones he should have kicked. I think he is a fairly reliable kick at goal from anywhere inside the fifty on anything less than a 45 degree angle.
  9. Thats what really peeves me about retrospectives - who we could have taken at a pick instead of who we did pick. I am not saying any of three you mentioned wont make it but you make the most valid of points - we always hear gee we picked such and such and we could have taken this champion taken five picks later - what you dont hear is the spuds we could have also taken who are infinitely worse than who we did pick up.
  10. As previously pointed out - it is not only the extra Million in their cap - it is also that they will have an abonormally large amount 1st year draftees that are on fixed (low) salaries for two years - this again gives them more to spend on out of contract players. I think what will be interesting is their ability to retain drafted players year three - When market forces start to dictate what their true salaries will be. For example Swallows salary will jump dramatically year 3 - I do wonder if both GC17 and GWS will be able to hold the host of budding stars they have.
  11. He was subbed off immediately afterwards.
  12. It was a backflip - documented below
  13. On record as saying that game plans are not radically different from club to club - we are a little more high risk/high reward however it is not the plan that should have been called into question - it has always been the ability to EXECUTE where we have failed or on the last two matches passed.
  14. But thats exactly what you are doing - refer back to his March presser for all the gooey stuff about loving the club, being a one club player and the club heading in the right direction, that some so desperately crave. He well may be going - but reading into every statement and dissecting body language just causes unnecessary ulcers.
  15. GWS havent confirmed speaking to Scully. Velocity have confirmed no approach or "discussions" Tom Scully has confirmed no approach or "discussions" We should lodge a complaint - why ?
  16. I think that competition for a place - ANY PLACE - is essential. Play well - do the team things - you get a gig. Dont and off to Casey you go. I dont care if you are 44 on the list or the captain. Really compromises the team if you are exempt from Casey.
  17. I do agree with this. Many times a contracted player has gone for way less as the club tries to extricate itself from its own mess. Woey and TJ are two examples of contracted players that to get rid of them we had to compensate pies/lions well to take away our own mess. Less demand for them. The question on both of these players is not whether someone would take them - it was how much we had to pay to get rid of them. We won on both me thinks ( especially TJ - paid some of his salary but got Grimes in the process)
  18. I can honestly say I have zero idea as I have never seen a contract - nor have I heard it mentioned before . I am truly hope it is not true
  19. But wait - dont answer - if you order your scully today we'll throw in 6 free steak knives
  20. cant do it - its in his contract.....doesnt have to play at casey (wow)
  21. Additional tickets is neither here nor there. I cant believe we would have players contracted that compromise the selection panel flexibility of the team by mandatory selection. Dont doubt you - just gobsmack is all
  22. You know for a fact that Bruce and Macca had that clause ? I would be surprised if any club would put that clause into a contract. Edit - Fevola certainly didnt have it in his contract at Carlton. Jolly at Collingwood etc etc. I would be gob smacked if this was in a contract
  23. And he said Paul is dead ( i think this joke was done in post 1234 on the last thread - but it was worth regurgitating)
  24. nutbean

    Beamer

I think this season he has been a little more discriminating - sometimes bombs long but also lowers his eyes more and will short pass or hand pass.
  25. it would help if your were a little more direct. Here's my spin - hasnt signed anything - will be offered more by GWS to go there - dont think other clubs are in the picture - hopeful that he will see more value in staying the journey with the MFC
