  1. To be honest I had not heard of Jacinda until now. What an extraordinary sporting career from an incredible all round talent. It is difficult to reconcile the outward sporting success with what who an obviously troubled soul. May she Rest In Peace
  2. I agree. The exponential growth of the women’s game has meant the a huge increase in the talent pool of girls coming through. Whilst Daisy was one of the best few players when the AFLW started in 2017 she would be well down the list these days. Like you though I can see a long future for her being the general of our back line. However things end up, I’ll been keenly observing the evolution of the game. I’m stoked our club was, again, a (the) foundation club
  3. Good theory. I hope you are right If you can come up with any thoughts on the longevity of women in the sport I’d be interested. Pearce, Paxman, Cunningham and our B & F winner, Shelly Scott are all 31+ yo. Do women have the ability to play longer than the men? Personally I sort of think there will be more 35 yo women running around than men
  4. Which, of course, was the men’s team problem with the introduction of Gold Coast and GWS. We got stuck with a crap team that couldn’t regenerate through the draft. At least we have learnt from history
  5. Has the handy Elise O’dea kicking action. Junior Junior
  6. Let’s face it if had of kicked straight this year he would be talked about just behind Petracca, Oliver, May and Gawn. Bailey has some freakish qualities and has more shots for goal than a mid sized forward should have. Doesn’t need a kicking coach, just needs to sort his head and he will be in All Australian contention
  7. Tom would look 5hit in an Essendon jumper but then I think everyone looks 5hit in one
  8. I’m convinced that Tom is carrying an injury that has slowed him down and hampered his agility. Check out these highlights from just two years ago and, whilst you’d never call him cat-like, he moves a significantly better than what we see today. Hopefully there is a fix as he looks friggin sensational here
  9. The game is now sold out. Max pax is 13,500 but there is no way they have got that at a 4.40pm Thursday game. I’ve found a figure of 25% of capacity so maybe around 3,500?
  10. 26° at game start and maybe 23° at games end. Humidity is forecast to be 68% which is typical winter conditions up here. Breeze blowing to the northern end. It will be a good coin toss for Max to win
  11. I’m off to the game this afternoon. I’m very excited. Live footy,!. Could be some pies eaten and beers drunk. I’ll barrack for you southern Demonlanders. Go Dees!
  12. Agree it should be blumin wonderful conditions for a game of footy
  13. Just looking at this trade with the benefit of some hindsight. “MELBOURNE has added some much-needed outside run by securing wingman Ed Langdon from Fremantle. The Demons handed over picks No.22, 79 and a future second-round selection for the 23-year-old, while the Dockers gave up Langdon, pick No.26 and a future fourth-round selection.” So we effectively got Langdon for a 4 spot down grade (that we used on Trent Rivers) and a future second rounder. This could end up being one our best ever trades.
  14. And just quietly no wonder Freo are struggling. Last year they lost Langdon and Brad Hill. The year before Lachie Neale. That is a lot of talent to walk out of the place.
  15. I hope Adelaide break their losing streak with a thrashing of Hawthorn. Those superior Hawthorn supporters can suck on that loss for a bit
  16. Controversial goal? The umpire could not have been in a better position and called it a goal.
  17. I honestly can’t see the controversy. If it was touched it was clearly after it crossed the goal line. Clear goal, move on.
  18. A clearly elite case of MFCSS that all other MFCSS cases can be judged on.
  19. Anyone know if the finals and GF have shortened quarters too
  20. If any team will need a week off to regroup before finals it will be us. I’m all for it
  21. I’ve been a Salem fan since he kicked the winning goal against Essendon in about his fifth game. But now as a 25yo with 90 games under his belt he should really be in his prime. I can’t help but think that he could use his kicking skills as a much more attacking weapon opening up the ground
  22. Bloody hell. I’ll take that result this evening thanks very much
  23. Well you can imagine my disappointment. I figured the AFL’s 2021 nightmare scenario was Melbourne going back to back.
  24. As supporters of this Club we haven’t had much to applaud over the past 50 years. Personally I’ll devour any feel good stuff they care to throw at me.
