Seeing were on top of the ladder we should be able to do what we want like all ladder leaders that have proceeded us.
-
I've been noticing another variant to this. The other day I saw one of our players (possibly Pickett) tackled to the ground by one of the opposition and the next 2 players to pile on and keep the ball locked in were ours. I know the ball was in our forward line but .... Sheesh.
-
Yeah, can't remember who 'cause I don't really give a fork but I'm sure we have a bunch of scalps. There was often opposition upheaval after loses to us.
-
Any-one got a link or something so I can watch it. Have tried looking for something myself and can't find anything.

Don't have to tell me man. Whenever they're under the pump it's Martins heroics that drag their arzes from the flames.

Why Oliver is More Dangerous Than You Think
Fork 'em replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Oliver is the 2nd player picked in my Supercoach side behind Gawn every year. I rest my case. Petracca 3rd FWIW. -
Wasn't long ago when Hardwick was on the verge of tears during post game interviews. Now he smacks of arrogance and thinks he's the font of all knowledge. If he didn't have Dusty Martin he wouldn't even be there.
-
Can honestly say I've never been so relaxed watching us play. Trusting the game plan and commitment of the players to get it done. But come finals time I'll be a forkin' mental case.
-
Reckon half the problem is the opposition are close enough during the game to think they're in it. Would prefer to stomp our authority early and erase any hope they have of an upset. Break their hearts and take the fight out've them.
-
Do you seriously not know what incorrect disposal is?
-
On another tangent. How 'bout the Carlton bloke who was tackled by I think Hunt and had a fresh airy. "He tried, play on." was the umps call. FMD.
-
They're commentators. They barrack for whoever's losing so they can call a close game. The last thing they want are blowouts.
-
I won't be convinced till Gawn is holding the cup either TBH. A long way to go from here to there. But I am convinced we've got a very formidable outfit.
-
100% The Dogs might look prettier but the demons are gettin' it done in the trenches.
-
Just bubbling along nicely. Had another gear when we needed it. We're strong all over the ground and whoever beats us will have to play very well. And how 'bout the footy gods give us a game with some decent conditions for a change.
-
Always apprehensive before the bounce as no game is easy in this competition. But today we place another brick in the wall. TMac, Brown and Weid to be a Carlton nightmare. Important thing is to get through with no new injuries. Can't win flags unless your list is fit.
-
It doesn't matter really. The stats that matter to me reveal they have won 4 flags during my lifetime. Including one against us. We have won ..... None. They beat us in the 2005 elimination final. They beat us in Danihers last game. They also beat us when half their side was suspended for doping. I hate them like no other club.
-
Unfavourably I'd suggest. We've stunk it up bigtime.
-
They aint no Richmond. And we shall find out who the big dogs really are in a couple weeks. But we gotta get over Carlton and Adelaide 1st. Rock into the dogs game fit and undefeated.
-
With the way we're playing ATM coming out to the pre-game bells would be brilliant.
-
Might help but pretty sure it won't cure it. Reckon Richmond supporters are still rather insecure for eg. They can feel their rein at the top ending. And lets say we did win one as the Bulldogs did and then like them come out the next year and not even make finals. I'd still be furious. As I was in 2001 after losing the GF in 2000.
-
Nah, you are right about the 1st 100pt win and that was 2004. And the year I am referring to was 2006 Both Carlton games played at telstra. Both loses when they were wooden spooners. The year we beat the Aints in the Elim. Again stunk it up in the latter part of the season though. My memory obviously muddled with all the frustration. There was so much of it. But I was at the second game late in the season at 'Telstra' leaving disgusted.
-
If only I could have. That game and the following ones to the end of the season disgusted me at the time. I think in the second game rd18 or so a win against bottom side Carlton would have given us top spot and a guaranteed top4. Then we spudded up, lost the remainder of games, fell into the finals and got booted the 1st week. It was everything I hated about the club at the time. We were so up and down. It was like as soon as they did enough to guarantee a finals spot they got lazy and took their foot off the accelerator.
-
My concern is from about 2004. Eyeing off top4 and lost to them twice during the season. They were bottom of the ladder but we had no answer for Fevola. We've got a mounting injury list. Tomlinson, Viney, Jackson out and not sure what sort of shape Petracca's in after his corky. But they have their concerns with Cripps and if were as good as we think we should roll 'em regardless. But I've never been one to go counting the chooks. Been following this club too long for that.

Or Brisbane when they were winning flags.
