There was only one bit of brightness in Mark Neeld's coaching and that was the 2012 match against Essendon when we were bottom and they were top, and we won.

I'd like to throw in the pre-season game against the previous years premier collingwood, that we won.
Other than that .... I've got nothing.

Our biggest problem is that we are coming off a perfect season where absolutely everything went right and it’s impossible to replicate. And now we all want more of this drug and it’s unavailable and we are having withdrawals and it’s making us angry.

    I'm not that angry TBH.
After last year I've lost the eye of the tiger too 😅

They can still turn it around but they're not filling me with confidence.

  3. They all know if they persist ... We'll let 'em back in.
And the way to get back in it is to run at us.
When crunch time arrives they want the game more.
Just watch 'em bounce around when they beat us.

Among our issues, many which I agree with stated in the above posts.
We've lost the eye of the tiger.

Wouldn’t hurt to try him in the middle. But he is playing well down back. No real need to change that, he reads the play extremely well down there.

    Wouldn't hurt?

He come 3rd in the Brownlow as a mid a few years ago.

If we're relying on one player to beat Collingwood we're covering cracks with wall paper. Not sure that winning the game for Neale can be used as inspiration as we have lost 6 of 8 big freezes.

    Yeah right.
Didn't know that but am not surprised.

Annoyed me other day that we just rolled over.
When Collingwood finally got on top they just took over.
On the big stage, 80k there .... We didn't give a yelp.

I don’t know again if I’m being biased, but I think that a little different. I’m not saying it’s good, and the fans shouldn’t have done that, but booing a fantastic player who’s being singled out for being fantastic seems particularly vindictive.

They also boo’d him during the game because he pushed one of their players off our guys and then got shoved hard for it. Oliver isn’t liked by any oppo fans though, admired as a player but he gets regularly boo’d for no good reason.

The only people who boo Oliver are morons.
Problem was the "G" was full of morons on monday.

  7. Dunno what the stats are but Tracs goal kicking in general is atrocious for an A Lister IMO.
Gawn's ok if he can get to 50 with his little cheat.
But we haven't got any as far as I'm concerned.
The odd players that do have a crack mostly hook 'em looking for the extra distance.

If you and @Fork 'em are so sure of yourself, go to the Run Home Prediction thread and make a prediction of what happens from here.

I'll leave the fortune telling BS to you.
One thing I've learnt following Melbourne over the years is that anything could happen from here.

Why be at your best in June when you can train to be brilliant in September. We might not like it, but at least we have history to reflect on to make us feel confident.

We've got it right once in the last 57yrs.

Why?  What is different to this time last year when he was here?

https://www.afl.com.au/afl/matches/3072#match-report   -   Match Report from Queens Birthday game 2021 (reminder that Collingwood were a worse side last year and we had had a better run with injuries)

    "disappointing Dees side"

"they struggled to string together any consistent fluency in attack, and appeared flat"

"looked sluggish at times throughout the game"

Well .... We weren't getting run over in 2nd halfs for a start.
And our injury list wasn't as long.
