Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
Fork 'em replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
Is that because they aren't good enough or because Goodwin is loyal to his premiership winners? Is any-one at Casey knocking on the door? -
Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition

So will Hawkins. -
This is the issue with the new dangerous tackle rule they're ramming through. If you are the tackling player you cannot go in for a tackle being half hearted and gentle because the finely tuned athlete in peak physical condition with the ball is going to blast straight through you. Luke Hodge was on SEN this morning talking about the perspective of players. In every game there are blokes playing to stay in the team, playing for contracts, their teammates confidence etc. Coaches place a very high priority on tackles to pressure the ball carriers into mistakes. They are also coached to drag the players to the ground as handballs while being thrown to the ground are far harder to hit than when standing up in a tackle. Someone asked he other day what happens in a Prelim, when they're playing for all the marbles and we find half a dozen players getting rubbed out for the GF cause they were a little bit rough. My view is if your going to play the game gently. You're gonna get hurt.

Two weeks in a row he's put his body on the line for the cause. Relentlessly ran his wing last week and maybe half way through the game had run the most kms on the ground. Plays like a man with his eyes on the prize. I'm sold.

Hearing the Mel-bourne chant start up.

The last 2 arguments I've had at the footy we're with our own clueless loud mouthed supporters sheet canning the players. Having said that I mostly sit amongst our supporters. But as far as I'm concerned we're there to support the team. Not hurl abuse at them. That's for the opposition nuffies.

He has a point. Clarrie's kicking is atrocious for the most part.

Petracca called Cox 4 eyes.

Mid season 2021 it was us and the Dogs. Dogs supporting workmate was telling me how they'd kill us. Told him the Dog might be prettier but we're gettin' it done in the trenches. We pasted them. Cue this week with a Collingwood supporting workmate telling me what they were gonna do. Told him the Pies might be prettier but we get it done in trenches. Gave 'em a 4pt pasting. Gonna get my Connor McGregor strut on tomoz.

Spargo had the look of a bloke who knew he'd dropped his spot when subbed.
-
Wasn't because of elite kicking that's for sure. Goodwin didn't name it "chaos ball" for nothin'.
-
Contenders it is. Great game. Go the Demons.
-
Cracking game.
-
Sheet kickin' is sheet footy. Forken wasteful. Other than that. Good game.

OMFG ....

Turnovers are killing us.

Hunter waiting too long.

Here we go. Let's see what we got.
-
He waited for the tackle and then ducked.

If we can't get 'em Monday we'll never get 'em. With half their best players missing a win for us will mean nothing more than the 4pts. A loss would be humiliating. MFCSS kicking in.

Jackson took Nanks goal as an insult. Have given him a pasting since.

Agree 100%. I was annoyed when no-one backed Kozzie last weekend when the big Carlton goose stood over him in the goal square. Reminded me of what Flash had to endure once Neitz retired and Daveys form dropped because of it IMO. Apart from Viney who's a little bloke we are far too nice as a team. Last year we allowed Langdon to get mugged by half the collingwood side after his duck/dinner comment.

Not long for me.

Well I saw the Demons squander a 27pt 3/4 time lead at Victoria Park back in the 80's so .... That's not enough.
