Farewell James Harmes
Ahhh ... Harmesy. The lifelong Demons supporter who managed to pull on a Melbourne jumper and win us a drought breaking flag. He'll be forever smiling at me with his premiership medal from my shed wall. Good luck in all future endeavours to a forking legend.

First game?
Vaguely remember the head gear. But I do remember booming torp goals while he was CHF which originally caught my attention as a kid. I also remember back in the day when the players would run onto the field they'd boot half a dozen footys into the crowd at different points of the ground. The cheer squad was always on the 2nd tear on the outer wing and of course at least one footy was sent up to us. This day Smith come wandering toward us with his footy. I turned around to enable him to see the #35 on my back. He sent it on it's way and I was gearing up for a chest mark when a big kid in front of me took an overhead. I was spewin'. I remember saving up my pennies to get Steven 35 Smith on my duffle coat which I had ironed on at the sport shop over the off season. Round 1 he trots out in jumper#1. Spewin' again .... I coulda saved about $6 as it was one less number and #1s we're cheaper than 3s & 5s. Think it was about $15 all up. A fortune. Same price as KISS Alive II 😎 I also remember Leigh Matthews knocking him out with a round house king hit at Princess Park. Smith was giving him a bath but we still had a monumental victory that day. One of many false dawns I witnessed. And I saw it Sandy and Bobby. Right in front of me. Should've got about 6weeks but didn't get reported. And didn't we give the blind goal umpire hell about it.

How did you become a Demon?
The old man was a mad Melbourne supporter. I was welcome to change clubs but I'd have to move out he always said. And I too have a love hate relationship with the club.

If I said I wasn't very disappointed in both the Men and Women I'd be lyin'. Chokers.- AFL is rigged.
Whereas I prefer to call what most of the MSM label conspiracy theories spoiler alerts.- AFL is rigged.
Cause we beat 'em by more than 15 😜- AFL is rigged.
Facts- AFL is rigged.
MRO, Goal review, Umpiring ......- AFL is rigged.
Replace NBA with AFL. Sixers with Melbourne. Heat with Collingwood, Celtics with Carlton. Tell me I'm wrong.- Jack Ginnivan
Yikes 😂- Harrison Petty
Unless they're outta smokes.- Harrison Petty
Who was that bloke from the swans who 10yrs ago declared half the comp was doin' coke and got shut down by the AFL. Dale Lewis?- It's the top 6 / bottom 6 that win you the flag
Wouldn't matter with our game plan. He'd have to jump on top of 10players heads every time the ball come in. And if your 6 guns aren't firing you aint winning a flag.- Do Melbourne supporters want politics in the game?
No. I watch the footy for the footy. Not the propaganda.- Harrison Petty
So as soon as another club shows interest in one of our players who is showing abit of form we should trade 'em. Got it 👌 All these media parasites who think they're club list managers. Fork 'em all.- Harrison Petty
I'd play for Melbourne for less money.- Harrison Petty
Continuing my story from above. My old man was [censored] off when I shot through. "There's no jobs up there, yadda, yadda, yadda." "You want your whole life to be a holiday.", to which I thought .... "What's wrong with that." I was at the stage of contemplating going back to Melbourne there for abit. I knocked off work. Went to the pub, got a couple of Beam cans and was on the Murray river with a fishing rod in the water watching the cockies fly by within' 10 mins. There was no way I could do that in Melbourne and made my decision there and then to stay. Never looked back from that moment. 10years later the old man comes to visit. I loaded him in the car, launched the boat 200m from my house and took him for a burn up the river. He looked around and declared, "Geez, ya got it made." One of my proudest moments TBH. Not everything is about money man. Though I was doing ok in that dept as well.- Harrison Petty
What if they can earn bigger money closer to home? Or away from the rat race of Melbourne.- Harrison Petty
I dunno. I moved away from home when I was 18. Spent a few years home sick at different points till my visits back to Melbourne to see family and friends got less and less. Now I can't stand the joint. Reckon getting homesick as a young fella is pretty natural. It passes for some, but for others it's stronger. And I was raised by my old man from the age of 5 😁- The Footy with Broden Kelly
