  1. You dunno whether you're coming or going. Here's your quote from the Buckenara thread. Make up your mind. "Hey SK, Most of us here thin we are going to rebound into finals in 2020. Most, apart from Lyon, think this fall is an aberration. Most, think that the club know where we are at."
  2. I've hated them since 1998 when we beat them by 48pts in the Qualifying final yet they stayed in due to some anomaly and won the flag.
  3. Can't say I remember much thuggery from BUCKENARA ! Matthews and Brereton yes.
  4. Till Oliver starts hitting targets by foot and snagging a few goals he's a B ........+ maybe. Tmac's a B. Vineys a B- Tracs a B- Harmes a B- Jones a C
  5. This might be it. Didn't really rip into them as I remembered, still, you get the idea. https://www.gwsgiants.com.au/video/2016-08-04/extra-heath-shaw-micd-up
  6. I'll tell you another I saw who I was reasonably impressed with. Heath Shaw believe it or not. Was a true true general down back keeping his teammates focused. Unlike Hodges controlled display Shaw did rip into a couple teammates though which they didn't really like. Haven't been able to find that one online though.
  7. Yeah, that was me. Here they are again. And here's Gawny for interests sake.
  8. Footballing wage negotiation tactic. I'd be surprised if he came back. He's been with the have not, and been with the haves. He'll stick with the haves thank you very much.

Yes it is true. See post above. But at the time no-one blinked an eye when we took Scully and Trengove. Was always gonna be those 2.

100% Was about to post the exact same thing. I value Clarksons opinion over Goodwins. Hell, I value my own over Goodwins.
  12. Back when I was in grade5 Wallace and another hawthorn bloke came to our primary school for a clinic. Wallace of course did all the talking and my thoughts at the time that he was quite full of himself to the point of being abit of a folg for a bloke I'd never even heard of. Turned out over the next few years he solidified his spot in the Hawthorn side as I watched on with interest. He hasn't changed much and I think back now and feel I was rather perceptive as a 10yr old.
  13. Martins work load is being managed IMO. Carried a few injuries and spent alot of time forward where you might not rack up the k's as you would in the midfield.
  14. Even with our record of early picks ......... ? He's a 22yr old 6'8' mobile forward who's been in the system a few years who's best footy's in front of him.

It's one of those things. Williams has years of experience in dealing with footballers and an insatiable desire to win. Sometimes I think these blokes are tossed onto the scrap heap too early. Probably needs to be willing to use some of the fresh ideas of a couple younger assistants. Well he certainly couldn't rally the troops when the season was gone. Instead of fighting the season out they appeared to give up. Which isn't what you want to see.
  16. I'd add him to our list in a heartbeat.

The two he missed in the opening minutes of the 2000 GF a case in point. Ball goes up the other end for Essendon captain Hird to mark and goal. Inspiring for them, deflating for us. One bloke who noticeably improved his goal kicking during his career was Russell Robinson. Unreliable early but worked on it and became quite the dead eye.
  18. Yes we need a forking kicking coach. Even when kicking 100pts and winning a couple finals we were butchering it everywhere. Having said that I wonder how much it will help in the heat of game day. Something tells me if they can't with any sort of efficiency kick by now they never will. Old habits die hard.
  19. Costagna was hungry. Wanted a goal on the big day bad. In the end after 5 failed attempts he lost confidence and started dishing off.
  20. Must admit ... Riewoldt does a better Mr.Brightside.
  21. Something like " Hopefully they learnt some lessons in regards to attitude ........."
  22. Was that a veiled clip from Lewis to the attitude of players during the pre-season I heard?
  23. When youthful excitement at the prospect of playing finals and Weid doing his bit got us through.

Back when he was on the market and we were looking at a new coach I would have taken Hardwick mainly due to the way he was as a player as well as ruthless and aggressive environments he came from. Premiership player at both Essendon and Port. Coached by both Sheedy and Mark Williams. But if I remember correctly his computer skills and Powerpoint Presentation weren't quite as polished as Neelds. He found himself under the pump big time in his 1st few years at Richmond and when the vultures were circling in 2016 he stated to the that he had at his disposal the best list he'd had since he'd been at the club and wouldn't be going unless shoved. We all thought he was dreaming and then come out and won the flag the next year. Hats off to him. Since he won that flag he's been a far more content man infront of the camaras. Speaks with the relaxed authority a premiership under your belt brings. Now he has 2. Might turn into Clarkson soon and we'll all be chasing Richmond assistants.
