I remember when my oldest daughter was about 7yrs old. I was online doing my Supercoach and she piped up over my shoulder and declared that "We were favourites and should go pretty good this weekend." "How do ya know that I asked", as I was never one too talk up our chances as we were our usual basketcase selves at the time. Much to my surprise as I'm in no way interested in gambling she pointed at the betting odds at the bottom of the page. I knew then with certainty how insidious the gambling culture the AFL is exposing the kids to. And of course we lost the game we should have won anyway and have drummed into the kids since that gambling on anything is a complete waste of money. These day I even get the guilts buying a tattslotto ticket in their presence.

I did too. And the scum supporter I was rubbing it in his face stated .... "We'll still beat Melbourne." And they forken did ...... Twice. Once in the pre-season and then again during the season. Fork I was pizzedorf.

My hatred for Essenscum and their supporters cannot be put into strong enough words.

If he was rubbed out or even fined for that the game is truly doomed.
-
If Viney wanted to hurt him. He would've. I'm sure he thought about it. Then changed his mind. Fair tackle ..... Play on.

And you wonder why you get slapped around.

When the game is on the line you need/expect the captain of all people to be making the correct decisions.

Actually preferred Akta-Vite to Ovaltine. But been a long time since I've had either.

Yeah, Ovaltine's good too and Chocolate Quik also gets it done.

Vita Brits all the way, no sugar but sprinkled with Milo.

He aint that cool. As demonstrated Rd23 last year against North in the dying minutes with a poor decision/disposal/turnover costing the game.

Only repeating what the great man stated in his own book.

C'mon man. You can't talk of watching the Bulldogs and Tigers and then throw in Ross Lyons name. Polar opposites. And if we want to build a clubs membership that people want to watch getting free to air TV time and sponsors, you can't have Lyon killing any creativity the players have with his mind numbing game plan.

Agree with the early games comment. A couple poor loses and their confidence will be shot and that .... Will be that.

Even the best can get cleaned up when they're open. Just ask Brereton.

Good game that. A rare victory over the Dawks on their own dung heap. Rhino Richards got his name that day when he ran through Dipper and booted a goal. Also up our end ?
-
Giles got cleaned up in the same pocket. If I was there I woould have remembered it. I was behind the gooals at Princess Park when he got Steven Smith though. From behind, just as cowardly.
-
No it wasn't.

And we would have given him 800K a year.

Leadership groups are useless if they're not doing it on the field.

My hatred of this arrogant club and their supporters cannot be understated.

Flower in this day and age would be an absolute weapon. Imagine a lightning quick hard running wingman with elite skills who played tall and impacted the scoreboard regularly. He'd be writing his own ticket.

The goal at 1:49 against Hawthorn. That was late in the last qr infront of me and he got a closeline shepard that should have been a free to Dawks. Exciting game as a Melbourne supporter at the time as we were on the bottom as usual and the Hawks were on top and only lost by a kick. Also read in Flowers book that the song was sung in the rooms by the players after the game despite the loss such was their excitement for pushing the dawks so close. Which he found disappointing.

I'll go back to 2001. Grand finalists to 11th. Our history is littered with pathetic. And it does my head in.
