Watching the Casey Demons match last week I was struck by Koltyn's performance. Up to 3/4 time it was fairly even contest and during this phase of the game his performance was a cut above the ruck. His extended cameo during the third qt. made me literally sit up and think who is this bloke? He acted as the play maker, winning the ball as it came out of defence. His distribution with clean disposal forward of centre had a dynamic edge to it. Jai Culley had a four quarter game, he used his height and strength both to defend and gain possession. Surprisingly his disposals were 80% effective. Admittedly like Kolt his late pre-season was effected by injury. It was good to witness the dramatic improvement in his field kicking and kicking for goal as the season has progressed. King's Birthday against the pies will be a baptism of fire for forever gets the selection nod. I'm confident whoever represents the club will make a positive impact come Monday.
