We've just got to change the coach. Players careers will be over before they know it, without any inspiration or leadership to get them through it with any sustained success. We can't let this go on, it's the way we're playing that's just devoid of any spirit or confidence.

I agree. I like Smith as a forward - or at least half-forward. With Howe and Pedo departing, we lost our only real marking strengths. Especially now Tmac has suddenly started judging the ball flight about as well his brother. The poor guy has played next to no footy in the last 3 years. We have to let him build confidence. It's pretty obvious he has more in his kit bag than Omac athletically, so we've got to give him a chance to learn the game and develop. Footy IQ... Not really our strong suit is it..

Whilst I'm sure he'll be better for the run, I prefer Smith up forward... God knows we were crying out for a target at half forward yesterday. Agree re Petty, he looks cumbersome but seems to get to the right spots. Where is he at the moment? Or just not best 22...

It wasn't for the sake of it though was it! He was proven to be correct. We nearly (should have) lost that game from a dominant position. Garry saw the signs early on and he was dead right. He doesn't trust us, even 42 points up - and nobody should. Not sure this is a great example for you to use.

Personally, I think we owe Smith another game after what the club did to him last year. He hasn't played in 18 months and will be better for the run. Has clearly more upside than Omac. None of the talls played well today.

Tomlinson can't play tall, yet also has no leg speed. Not really clear on his role.
