Serious question re Hulett .....have you actually seen much of him at VFL ? Has always looked a good build on the track

50 Greatest MFC Goals video
Great work, Ash Wow....I always remember Jako and Jurrah as wasted (or unfulfilled) talent but I had forgotten just how good Sean Charles could have been had he stayed on track. Co-incidentally wasn't it dome form of wrist fracture that contributed to the demise of both Jurrah and Charles, taking them away from the stability of the club onto errant ways.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Vickery? ??

Zak Jones
I don't think he is worth anything near first round pick......but as with most players, if the price is right and he fits our needs then certainly worthy of a sniff. Would be negligent not to asses fully.

Our record at the MCG
* I think you have caught the MFC mindset Surely much if not most of it is mental. We have shown that we can play sensational footy, at times, but lack the mental application / mindset / maturity both individually and as a group to do it consistently. Very disappointing, but if you go back a couple of years most of those narrow losses, plus probably the Saints and the Carltank games would have become routs, as well as the Crown games. We have come a fair way though we do need to learn to win.

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
I note that this is a Petracca / McCartin thread but I will respond anyway, Mr Tunnelball. Weideman has already shown far more in just over 1 season on the list than Lucas Cook, who I think we all now agree turned out to be a wasted pick, did in his whole time at Melbourne so the comparison is, IMO, just not there. Weideman was the best available at that pick, and I for one am pretty happy with his progress to date. Nobody in their right mind would expect him to be the key forward at this stage of his career, but that is where he found himself when Jesse was suspended. His last game he payed injured from early in the game. I don't think we will see his consistent best for 18 months or so - I am happy he has had some AFL exposure and will watch with positive interest in his progress over the remainder of 2017. I suspect, on the other hand, you will look for every negative and report them with glee.

4. Crisps seems to play better with a "broken jaw" like Rowe does with "concussion"

Wouldn't have contributed much less to our team's progress

I haven't really looked closely - is the Downlow* Brownlow silver? Thought it was goldish * reverted to original name when Jab returned his. Gawd he looked ordinary off the stuff.

Are you speculating that in time he could maybe become quite a handy player? ? Very perceptive. ?

Didn't realize that. Still, he should have washed that stain out of himself by now.

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
Whilst this is a Petracca thread, I must agree with you on Weid - comparing him with Cook is ludicrous. The 19yo played a good debut, and agreed hasn't had a real impact since, but give a year or so with the occasional senior game I strongly think we will see a very good player, though maybe not a superstar. His last game was played with a significant leg injury almost from the start, so judging him on that performance is harsh.

So are you starting a rumour that Clarry will be traded to WCE or Hawthorn?

I may have said it earlier, but I just think (other than the fact that they don't have a clue about footy) they just cannot believe that any human could possibly handball as quickly as does Ollie.- Zak Jones
As always a matter of cost v benefit.- Clarence Oliver
Mods -- we desperately need a "dislike" button! Anyway, the random way the MRP works, if Clearance is ahead of <whomever the AFL decides should win> no doubt they can find some way to rub him out.- Clarence Oliver
Wagner may not be underrated - but when did he last play? If last weekend how did he go?- Clarence Oliver
Agree Nasher. And it has been Clayton himself who has set the bar at that exalted level.- Clarence Oliver
And still no mouthguard, nor did he seem to be wearing one on Saturday.- In Jason Taylor we trust!
This thread is about Jason Taylor, not about SOS. I will try not to vilify or belittle SOS too much until we can actually beat his team!! Hopefully I can resume Sunday night.- Clarence Oliver
Brent Harvey played well after David King finished He did a similar one at a critical moment in the memorable victory vs Hawks last year. He has fantastic vision and execution.- Clarence Oliver
Valid points CB and AKA - unless he were to find that undetectable "something" that allowed Cousins to run all day +++ in the GF 2006 or 2007. Of course all things are undetectable if unsought, and if indeed such were detectable then swept under some magic carpet somewhere.- Clarence Oliver
