2022 Free Kick Differential
That "front on contact" on the quarter time siren was jut plain cheating / incompetence. No contact was made. And the HTB interpretations were polar opposites dependent on who had the ball. I hope official questions are at least asked privately.

Bevo unleashes on Tom Morris
I have never had any opinion, one way or another, on Tom Morris, but Bevo's outburst was just so weird and angry. Has good old Gillon had anything to say??

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
A few quick observations. Well done given the very makeshift defence. Tracc is an absolute beast and clearly hates (the thought of) losing. Umpiring just awful and one sided, once again. One time when we were 3+ goals down we would have dropped heads and lost badly - this mature well lead, very fit and superbly coached team left me only mildly concerned and again a 40 point turnaround was not unexpected.

POSTGAME: Community Series vs Carlton
This is NOT the way to earn respect from the players - it is just the opposite. Actually pathetic and this guy can never be respected if he continues this way. Nobody respects authoritarianism - they may however respect engagement. Sure - no abuse, but shaking one's head, asking "what for" or laughing in frustration is not abuse.

POSTGAME: Community Series vs Carlton
Firstly, I remain uncertain if Hunt is still in our best 22 as a defender (despite being there for 20+ rounds in 2021). However Hunt played last week as a cog in a completely makeshift defence, so should his performance be assessed the same as if he were just one cog in the established defensive unit?

POSTGAME: Community Series vs Carlton
The big problem is that Gil and the AFL are trying to demand respect of the umpires rather than having them earn it. Typical half baked knee jerk reaction to what they see as a probelm. Yes, abuse should not be condoned, but penalising asking a question or showing frustration is another gross overreaction, and likely to have the opposite effect, making relations between players and umpires far more fractious. Time to reset, Gillon.

Can we call them Margetts then?

2022 Fixture
It is a refreshing change for us to only play teams that finished below us in 2021, instead of the all too familiar only playing teams above us 🤗🤗🤗❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙

POSTGAME: Community Series vs Carlton
Salem’s value to the team is far greater than any stats can show. Poise, coolheadedness, coordination. Smith a Frosty type? Not nearly as “entertaining” though. Rarely a dull moment when Frosty had the ball in hand. 🤔

Typical AFL HQ overreaction. Pathetic.

Remember, we got belted by the Dogs in this game last year. …. and did we play them again late in the year??🤔🤔

Docklands Stadium Makeover
Sounds like lipstick on a pig - stand angles were all wrong from the design stage - hard to believe that this was "in the computer age". How could someone get away with not allowing sufficient slope to see the boundary line from most of the upper deck? The dark / sun contrast when the lid was off on a sunny day made / makes the game unwatchable, so what was their solution? Shut the lid in sunshine - madness. How about a translucent roof and overhangs - surely there must be appropriate materials for this. And just one other of the many things that has kept me from attending Docklands for about a decade was the dangerous crush trying to access Spencer Street Station - not sure if they are still there but there were even quite a number of steel bench seats about half a meter off the ground presumably designed for unsuspecting departees to trip on or skin their shin in a crush in the dark. (Maybe some sort of partnership with Epworth ED?) And don't start me on the fake noise - I am glad to read that it is not only ancient me who finds the annual increase in inane noise totally off putting. (Still, it is the same at the G - and whenever I air my complains it falls on deaf - or probably deafened - ears.)

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
Fair enough, but I am not convinced that he has (at least yet) the footy smarts. (which may reflect lack of continuity due to injury, or, maybe just not there?)

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
And his (Kozzie) GF involvements were greatly underrated too. Many said he had a very quiet game - by his standards maybe NB no goals. Not a lot of conventional stats but a hell of a lot of pressure acts.
