  1. Totally disagree This week and last week has changed my mind about him. I would sooner drop Vince who I adore than Bugg at the moment. You would drop someone who plays with so much effort!!! Glad your not the coach. If he was a spud then fine big mouth gone but it would be like dropping Aker when he was being good (notvthat bugg is in that class yet).
  2. The best writer of football and sport of his generation. The pathos the man evokes has always reinforced my love of the game. His humanity will be missed especially in the vacuous noise of current commentators and writers injecting themselves into contemporary stories about the game we love. Feeling sad and more than a little older that he is retiring.
  3. Fair enough, been mulling it over and i"m there too, am endeavoring to find an alternative, gender distinctions for soft are no longer appropriate it just was a good soundbite
  4. She reminds me of my grandmother, who had a huge football IQ and taught my dad to play football - not grand dad as you might expect.
  5. Ktip is the best example of looks like Tarzan plays like Jane (I really hope there are no awesome Janes in the AFLW, can I even use this expression anymore???) Spencer on the other hand ... well he would rip out another players' heart and eat it if told to do so he is fierce. While he is improving slowly he is improving, I reckon there would be no benefit in a swap. Honestly it would be like the Hawks taking Vickery.
  6. Col got three years because the FD saw something in him, the same FD we are all gushing over for the development of our new players. I reckon it says more about the posters than Judys' ability. I for one would like to have seen him play instead of Oscar for a few games this year if he had been available.
  7. I was slow to like this fella, didn't bag him, but was wondering, not anymore.
  8. Spare a thought for Malaysian Airlines, poor bastards can't take a trick, they must have killed a truck load of black cats
  9. There is a silver lining to this, with no lives lost, a number of different organizations got to plan and implement a response in the real world, and now be able to go away and look at what worked and what didn't. There is no way such a simulation could have been run. Including the presence of civilians, always a factor that brings huge pressure to participants. Truly invaluable in policing terms a full dress rehearsal of a grand final.
  10. I love the footy smarts and general warm banter (drivel) that we share on here, and I really should breathe before I post. But most posting here have no effin clue about the Police. You have no idea how lucky you are and how dedicated the Police are that serve Victoria, that you pay for through your taxes, but you are getting value for money I can assure you. First of all - the Police approach to the use of force. "The success of a mission will be judged by the extant to which the use of force is minimised" (its been 10 years since I read that but I think I'm fairly close) The forward commander has to interact with an aircraft (you know a big thing with tonnes of flammable liquid and a few 100 people trapped inside) and a report of a bomb. Information received. It is not just an offender - there are two problems - someone offering a threat and the possibility of an explosive device. Fixing one does not fix the other and there is no bomb tech on the plane. There can be no assumptions in the response of the forward commander, unless lives are being actively lost/threatened, then every single piece of information about the device should be considered and evaluated and responded to. A bomb expert would need to process all this information to make an informed decision and then pass to the forward commander for a decision - how many of you have made a decision about the safety of someone elses life (and I'm not talking about driving your family around). Storming the plane might just set a bomb off, until you have verified that is unlikely why would you rush in the absence of any immediate threat to life. Would posters here prefer everyone go out in blaze of glory, so that we can have a high profile viking funeral for 330 passengers and crew and the Police response team. Fair diunkum...no effin idea, just say thank you that you live in Victoria. Get over the media drivel on timelines, utter utter garbage.
  11. How did the lamb taste, pretty juicy no matter how long it was in the oven...
  12. I was pretty excited watching Hibberd come off half back, haven't voted yet because i can't place his game - Oh and this song was a genius reference, am not going to be able to forget this for a bit
  13. Really love the way he didn't drop his head after the fluffed shots. Has come on this year, really keen to see the back half as I thought his 12-23 < 1-11 in 2016. Personally I think he has drunk the koolaid along with the rest of us.
  14. What a stupid metric when taken in isolation. I would like to see m gained and a few other indicators as well. I like Dom, he is dancing on a postage stamp most times after getting the ball on the inside. I can't understand the OP and others giving it to him - he is having a go with his head over the ball and getting better all the time.
  15. Lots of love for Frost, and Hibberd, but Wagner has also come back really well too, am still not sure who best back six are though, ad long as Jetta is one of them.
  16. Could not believe the news. Best wishes to him and his family. There is a silver lining to this for Jesse, he wants to be a part of a winning team, the bonding these players are going through right now, caring for each other, will make them a better team and will stand them all in good stead down the track. Jesse will get some clear air soon he bloody well deserves it.
  17. Didn't realise we had saints on the forum, redemption is pretty much on the menu for everyone at the MFC
  18. My laptop works ok maybe its the telly, i might cut the tv browser out of the equation
  19. I find trying to use watchafl.com.au super frustrating, I have good internet, but if I try and watch something live, it buffers endlessly. playback of finished games and shows works fine however. The only exception is if I log on to watch the game before it starts and get it from the start of the stream then it will work but this is not ideal. if the 2y.o. grabs the remote and stops it etc, I'm cooked and have to wait to the end and start over, as happened with the saints game. Haven't got around to writing a complaint yet note: this is on a brand new hi end Samsung telly with latest OS

  21. I now put the last 2 seasons as Jones adjusting to quite a few new teammates and game plan, he wasn't bad but he was not his best either. Where as this year, ( and i soley credit his own work ethic) he has found the groove and is rocking it. What ever he did to find that extra pace should be bottled, kept secret like the coca cola formula, and compulsory for the entire team. I cannot think of another mature player who has regained pace the way he has.
  22. 6 - Salem 5 - Jetta 4 - Oliver 3 - Garlett 2 - Jones 1 - Watts
  23. Hey DA, managed to check it out again, maybe not Sugar Ray but pretty decent all the same, I thought the speed was good didn't you? I think the same re sanction.
